Our best chance for any success this decade is to fill any holes we have and hope for a Super Bowl run over the next three years. Taking two steps backwards is only going to waste time. We have Tua, Hill, and Waddle all in their prime right now. I'm tired of scrapping the team and rebuilding every five years. We need continuity for once. This is a down year. We stumbled out of the gate putting ourselves in a huge early season hole. Tua's concussion put the division out of reach before the season was even half over. Next year could be totally different with a few added pieces. Chubb and Phillips should be 100% to start next season. We can address the OL with FA or the draft. Things change year to year. We made the playoffs two years in a row. We're probably going to miss out this year. Sh!t happens. Look at SF. They were just in the Super Bowl and probably won't make the playoffs this year. Should they blow up the team and rebuild or reload for another playoff run next year? It's frustrating for everyone but as hard as it is we need to just have patience. Whatever is meant to happen will happen. Getting upset isn't going to make things better. Fins up!

If you invested all the resources we have and you‘re not in contention at all, is quite disappointing, don’t you think? Grier is here now for how long? Great if you think we‘re going somewhere and Tua is elite but don’t hate on people if they think they‘ve seen enough. Back again to talking people and no football, stick to attacking the post in a normal way and not the poster (that should be the rule of engagements on here) and then try to agree to disagree instead of trying to ridicule the poster or calling them names. The „wah-wah“ you‘ve got on both sides btw…

Yes, at this point, in a season that is clearly over, winning does not help the team.

There is a difference between wanting a team to lose because you dislike them, and understanding that wins don't help you.

But continue to characterize anyone with a realistic view of this team as a bad fan.

Also, just because now at this point someone is hoping they lose, doesn't mean they wanted that when the season began. You guys are black and white, and leave no room for changing of opinions.

Sorry, but you went on a long attempt to twist what StaleTacos said into him not really rooting for the team to lose. You're right you don't do that often, but you (and resnor) definitely did do that. Start from here to see:
    https://thephins.com/threads/raiders-vs-dolphins-week-11.99191/page-14#post-3670285

And it's not possible to just "stick to football" when people systematically misrepresent what is stated.

This is where I do not agree. We have oldest roster in the league and you know what comes with that.Injuries.
The offensive line is terrible. We have decent center for next year but that's it.
The defence on the line has Sieler and nothing else.Everyone was saying we would have Chubb and Phillips back this year but that didn't turn out.And Phillips might never be the same.
Chop has played decent so hopefully he continues to improve.
Where is the young talent besides chop on defense?Smith looks like a bust and on offense I see Wright and that is it.
    Grier needs to go.

Nothing wrong with changing opinions. It's not acknowledging you're changing your opinion and repeatedly claiming you meant something else when you didn't that's the problem.

How does the Dolphins losing in Cleveland, Houston and the Jets on the road, two games in cold weather, benefit this team's main gripe of not being able to win in the cold going forward?

If someone thinks Grier is a problem (he is), then winning only keeps him around.

If we could keep everyone and just get rid of Grier, maybe, by that has its own set of issues.

We've been down all these roads since Marino retired.

It doesn't. Not sure we make the playoffs this year, but Tua and McDaniel definitely need to get that "can't win the cold" monkey off their back, and those last 2 games are really important in that regard. Even if for just that alone I'd root for the team to win.

Simple.Team is built wrong to win in the cold.
Did same thing with Marino teams.
The 1972 team won the AFC championship in Pittsburgh
Have to be able to lineup and not get blown off line of scrimmage on a 4-1.
Only chance of getting a new Gm is a complete collapse. We need to build a physical team!
We go 9-8 and it will be same **** show again.

Yes it was. StaleTacos said winning was "the worst case scenario" and "what he feared most" AND didn't dispute me saying he's going on record that he's rooting for us to lose. This is as black and white as it gets. People do not root for what they fear most lol. They root against it, which means he was rooting for the team to lose. He went on and on about the reason why, which is the same as pumpdogs: losing increases the chance of getting rid of Grier.

There's no ambiguity here. Point is, we have two posters who are clearly rooting for us to lose. Not judging that per se (at least not in this post). Just making it clear there's no ambiguity about this so it can be referenced later.

1972 is ancient history and completely irrelevant to today's game.

The Dolphins had a dominant defense and stout running game for years in the late 90's early 00's and still didn't win anything.

The point is it was cold and they didn't get physically man handled like Thurs or Kc last year. But in saying this it's just not cold.Physical teams on both sides of.the ball own them in any westher. They are a finesse team.
As for the nineties they didn't have a great defence until late in the end of the decade when Marino was on his last leg and what great RBs did they have? They never had a physical running game in his 17 years!

This team isn't changing much, if at all, next season. So, don't you think it would be beneficial for them to go out and try to win in the remaining cold weather games and a game against a Texans team that's going to the playoffs?

I think we can include 2022 since that's when McDaniel + Tua era started? In 2022 we beat Baltimore and Buffalo, the #3 and #4 defenses by points allowed. So the system does work against good teams/defenses, just not often enough.
