I’ve never been an advocate for tanking or anything like that, but Grier should be fired now because here’s the nightmare scenario; the longer he stays on, the more time it gives him to throw away more money and high picks for overpriced, older, oft injured, underperforming, soft players. Ahhh! No! He must be stopped!

 

All losing does is prove you are a loser. Losing instills a loser mentality. You can't lose intentionally and expect to be a winner.

 

Grier isn't getting fired. Tua is guaranteed for the next 3 years. McDaniel isn't getting fired. Winning out will make us better going into next season. Losing out will make us losers. Never root against your team.

 

Then next season will be no different. You draft a QB, you have like 5 years to be a contender. If you aren't making real noise in years 3-4, then it ain't gonna happen.

Everyone knows this, but we just ignore it in this situation.

We still have a very real shot at making the playoffs. Rooting against your team at this point in the season in the situation we're in is pathetic tbh. But hey it's your prerogative if that's how you feel.

For the record we have two posters (StaleTacos the other) now explicitly making the same argument for why they're rooting for us to lose: it (marginally) increases the chance we fire Grier (really unrealistic of course).

Just saying.. nobody should go around trying to twist this into saying "no one is rooting for us to lose".

Well, it‘s understandable no matter how unlikely it is that Grier is fired. It’s not like that they’ve showed that they‘re one of the title contenders in this league despite going all in. It’s no secret that this team is soft and probably has the wrong blueprint to achieve anything worth of notice. The only chance to get rid of Grier is losing, even if it is a slim one.

 

According to USA Today, the Dolphins have only won 1 game in the last 32 years in which the temperature at kickoff was 23 degrees or lower.

if this is indeed true, pointing fingers at coaches or players is irrelevant. This spans back to the early 90’s, even with Shula and Marino.

 

That was the back end of Shula and the start of our demise. Jimmy got us a D but that was to late for Marino, then Pornstache took over and since then we‘ve been in this limbo of mediocrity we‘re in.

 

It's not about whether it's understandable. It's about you, resnor and others trying to twist what is written in black and white into "no one is rooting for us to lose". You did that last time with what StaleTacos wrote. It was a completely unnecessary discussion.

Sorry but in this case it's those posters that claimed no one is rooting for us to lose when it was stated in black and white that are stirring the pot unnecessarily. That kind of systematic misrepresentation needs to stop.

As the season has increased in number of games, and thus gone deeper into winter, the Dolphins have gotten worse.

And when you actually look at the teams we’re playing in the winter isn’t no surprise. Out of the last 5 games with weather under 40 degrees, 2 were against the Bills, one each against KC, Packers, and Titans. 3 of those teams had 11 or more wins and the Packers are on the way to that.

When teams lose at Miami in September it's always "the heat". When Miami loses to elite cold weather teams on the road in December and January it's "they suck fire everyone".

Yup except we don't get September 1pm home games against cold weather teams anymore. Josh Allen cried about the heat so the NFL fixed it for him.
