    Settle down speed racer.
More than one way to find ur franchise Qb and the owner himself wanted to tank but Flores didn't play ball. All he had to do is stick with Jish Rosen.
So answer me this.Would this team have been better off if we tanked and ended up with Burrow?

Answering your question with a question…

With the same offensive line and outdated Chan Gailey offense?

    Do you smell burnt toast?

I don't think Josh Rosen makes it through the season regardless. His pocket presence left a lot to be desired and he was taking a lot of hits. I don't see them not winning 2 games, and Fitz not eventually starting. Also, I fancy myself more of a Racer X than Speed Racer.

I heard that with our draft picks it is like a 36% retainment on them. The always good teams are 50% and higher. One team was at like 65% of their draft picks they retained. Not sure how long of a span this was for.

Burrow is awesome! However, the Bengals defense is terrible. Much like some of the Marino Dolphin defenses.

wow, you $hot of Goff who is a very good QB and has been in what 2 Super Bowls on 2 different teams? Lions should be a lock for the Super Bowl this year with him leading the way.

That Rams team and this Lions team are among the most talented teams in the last two decades. Just super stars all over the place.

Fair points. Tua has had health issues that Murray hasn't. Guaranteed health and I agree 100%.

Which post specifically? Someone saying wins may be meaningless as far as what they mean for the team moving forward, that does not mean they are rooting for us to lose. Someone can believe that wins agaist bad teams are hurting the team long-term, without them rooting for the team to lose.

So is it your opinion that they are rooting for them to lose, or did some posters say that they actually want us to lose?

    There is a difference.

I'm not sure that your viewpoint is correct, though. If you have a decent team that consistently is picking below spot 15, and you don't have your QB, then you have GOT TO have a GM who is able to really evaluate players. If you don't have access to a top pick, then it's even more difficult to get that QB.

There are pros and cons to both sides of this issue.

I cannot tell if you are trolling sometimes.

How does, "Someone can believe that wins agaist bad teams are hurting the team long-term, without them rooting for the team to lose." work? What is the logic? Genuine question. How do you think something is bad for the team, that you are ostensibly a fan of, and not root against it happening? What kind of doublespeak is that? Are you a politician? This thread is full of arguments for why wins are bad for the team, by people claiming to be fans, but they couldn't possibly be rooting for the team to lose! Why would anyone think they said that! It's absurd.

I told you to look at StaleTacos' posts on page 6. You obviously didn't even bother to read the posts. His first post after we won:
    https://thephins.com/threads/raiders-vs-dolphins-week-11.99191/page-6#post-3669195
Us winning was "the worst case scenario" and "what he feared the most". Obviously he wanted us to lose. So in my response I point that out:
    https://thephins.com/threads/raiders-vs-dolphins-week-11.99191/page-6#post-3669209
He never argued against that, and you know he'll dispute even tiny issues he disagrees with. But no disagreement with that post.

    Later I say:
    https://thephins.com/threads/raiders-vs-dolphins-week-11.99191/page-6#post-3669230
    To which he says:
    https://thephins.com/threads/raiders-vs-dolphins-week-11.99191/page-6#post-3669233
StaleTacos is rooting for us to lose. He explained his reasoning very clearly. He thinks losing is the only way to get rid of Grier and that getting high draft picks is important. This isn't opinion. That's what he argued.

That just proves what @resnor wrote. The way I read it is, he thinks losses are better if there is even a slight chance to get rid of Grier, that doesn’t mean that they actively root against the Dolphins, it’s more like they don’t enjoy the wins as much. Meanwhile @Etrius24 got banned for who knows what, this site…

What?? No one roots for "the worst case scenario" or "what they fear most". People root against that happening!!! The only logical reading is that StaleTacos roots for us to lose.

It's not hard to understand, imo. I don't root for the Dolphins to lose, I was excited when they won last week.

At the same time, I don't believe this team is going to run the table and make the playoffs, and be competitive in the playoffs. So I don't ascribe much value to beating the Raiders. I understand every win we get gives us a worse drat pick, and that sucks. It would be different if I thought this team could beat competitive playoff team. Then I would value beating the Raiders more.

I just think we view things fundamentally differently.

Again: thinking something isn't beneficial to the TEAM in the long run does NOT equate to someone rooting for them to lose. IMO, this is just another example of where your predetermined narrative about posters influences the meaning/motive you ascribe to the post.

Yeah and Etrius24 was banned? Are we seriously just banning people cause some Club members don't like someone's point of view or something? Dude wasn't violating ToS was he?

Rooting for the team to fail and not believing in this team are 2 totally different things. You make it like it’s a black and white thing it’s not.

There is far worse out there when it comes to ToS and overall behavior! I don’t really know, seems like he didn’t even get an explanation.

He didn't talk about "not believing in the team". He said the win was the worst case scenario and what he feared most, i.e., he didn't want the team to win. Yes it's black and white.

Because he wants to get rid of Grier, so for him it’s the worst case scenario. Don’t mean he’s no Dolphins fan…

The only way my argument is valid is if two things are true: 1) StaleTacos is a fan, and 2) he is telling the truth about what the thinks.

If either assumption is not valid there's no way to know what he's rooting for. But if he is a fan, then the only logical reading of what he wrote is that he is rooting for us to lose games now so that there's an increased chance of winning later. That's all I was claiming.

Point is, there is at least one poster here (who we are assuming is a fan) who is rooting for the team to lose.

Good riddance if he was in fact banned. He infected every single thread with the same repetitive nonsense. Every thread shouldn't be about firing Grier and trading away all our best players. Enough was enough IMO.

Got to ask him. I can understand it if it were the case. I just can’t bring myself to root against the team even if it were for the better, I just hope it happens naturally or maybe they’ll surprise me. As soon as Grier is gone I‘m all in, untill then it’s show me something, maybe if they‘ll make a real push to the playoffs that would get me really back into it.

There is a post calling the win the "worst case" right after they won. There are posts that indicate that the poster was unhappy they won. If you are happy, but feel you could be more happy if you felt the team was better, then that is not the same.

We typically don't go into details publicly about why someone was banned but since so many people are interested, I'll oblige.

He was banned previously for violating the TOS awhile back. He begged to come back and was given one last chance. He did nothing but troll the forums. He isn't even a fan of our team.

We do allow fans of other teams but we don't allow them to act like Dolphins fans and troll other members of the board.

Interesting measurements on how to get banned from here and how did you or whoever banned him evaluate his fandom?
