CBrad This is what I fear.... I have in the past been hopeful for Tua... Because I wanted him to be better than Mahomes and for the Dolphins to win multiple Superbowls. I have been upset with this current team and their future for a while now. Does not change the fact that I wanted Tua to be amazing. I wanted the team to be amazing. I wanted things to be so much different than this... .... So if now years later after numerous set backs and problems if someone says it is time to move on... Why do they suddenly have to lack integrity? I wanted to post a storm the instant the egame was over. I was upset... and disappointed.. But instead I cooked a ham with my wife... We made mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans... We planned a fishing trip for the week long beach vacation we have booked for the week of thanksgiving. After we sat down and had a meal that cannot be beat... I am sitting here watching football and posting about the game perfectly calm... I tried not to let my anger spill over into posting so that I would not say things like: "You criticised Tua, ergo you have no integrity." We are all of us angry right now. And it is so easy to get even more upset looking at posts from others... It is akin to seeing someone post: "I told you so... (Even if that is not their intent.)" I want to post a couple thousand word rant about Tua, the Coaches, the GM, and the future of this franchise. But I am going to wait... Because I know the nerves are raw right now, and everyone is sore. But part of me is itching to roll up my sleeves and get into these issues...LOL Point is man... Please give it a day before you decide that Someone else has no integrity for posting now. Remember they are as upset as you.
resnor has a very long history of saying "I never said X is true" when you can link to posts of his where he explicitly says "X is true". And even after you show him those posts he often does not admit he was wrong to claim otherwise, instead acting like the person pointing it out is misrepresenting things. This isn't a one time thing. It's been going on many many years. If you stick around long enough you'll see him do this a lot. So yes I'll make a big issue out of that. And so it's clear, in this particular case resnor claimed: "The problem with Tua isn't when he plays. It's when he doesn't play. That's why people are "anti-Tua" That's a patently false statement. Even early this season (and certainly in previous seasons) there were many anti-Tua posters who were criticizing Tua's play against good teams, play in the playoffs and in critical games near the end of the season. It wasn't just being injury prone, it was also his play they were not happy with.
For what it’s worth… Miami’s offensive production consisted of 377 total yards (versus Arizona’s 386), with 150 yards rushing, 73% on 3rd down and only 2 penalties.
Okay well it is no fun to look way back and be reminded that when you predicted something that you were dead wrong... LOL Trust me I am wrong all of the time. I get people reminding me... It is not a blast... hahaha
I have no issue with people being wrong. But claiming they didn't say something even after direct proof they did is an integrity issue.
Another tough loss. That's just the way this season is going to go for us. Here's what I'm looking for as far as positives go... 1. Tua remaining healthy for the remaining portion of the season. 2. Young guys stepping up and getting some playing time. We've got to find out who's a player and who isn't amongst our young core. 3. Playing with nothing to lose. Team should play much looser knowing that we're a Longshot for the postseason. 4. Since we're losing early, maybe we'll win some games in December/January? I mean it would be so like us to do that. 5. I'm just going to try and enjoy the team/sport.
I forgot the game was on and didn't stay up for it. Looks like the loss came down to a bad snap (safety). By the way folks, Miami is 2nd in the AFC East. I know that's comical, but it puts it in perspective a bit. NE and NY are behind us with their starting QBs on the field for 8 weeks. Tua was expected to have some rust getting back in sync with the offense, and I think 28 points is a decent "off day" for them. Those 40-50 point scoring games are coming.
Loss was more on the defense on that final drive. Offense played well, but not quite well enough. The safety hurt, but not getting even a FG on that final drive hurt more. But so be it. We're 3 games out of WC contention. If we're 4 out next week or still 3 out 2 weeks from now, it'll be nearly impossible to make that up over 8 games. Dolphins are opening right now as +6.5 underdogs against the Bills. That's about a 1 in 4 chance of winning. Hope we get lucky.
Yeah, the Bills "should win". The Dolphins certainly "can win" and we have the talent to hang with them. But can we put it all together and actually get the W? We'll see in a week or so.
For me one of the most frustrating things is the division. Just in this post people are trying to stay positive and look forward to playing the Bills. We should be in full "Sell Mode." Hill Ramsey Holland Mostert Waddle Achane And anyone else we could get draft picks for. Keeping the team together and in tact when there is no chance to make the playoffs makes little sense. We are projected to be 44 million over the cap next year... Even with the salary cap going up... All of the draft picks we gave up... All of the trades we made... This was supposed to be "Our Year." And it is okay.... Nothing in life is guaranteed... It did not work out., it happens Now it is time to accept that, and come up with a new plan, because whatever this is, or however you feel about it... THIS DOES NOT WORK. That is what we should all agree on now. Terms like Tua Haters, or Tua Defenders does not matter anymore. We are not winning football games. We are losing to mediocre teams not just once in a fluke game... On a regular basis. So it is time for this team to do something different. I would hope on that much we can all agree.
The 1st step to admitting you have a problem is to look in the mirror. You have hated the guy since day one and say it whenever you can.
Yes, we get it. You have been in full nuclear detonation blow it all up mode for the last 4 weeks, ever since we were 1-2. We got it. Anything new to add?
Didn’t expect them to be great this season, so they are solid on my watch. The O should be the one side winning us games especially when the D is missing some of their best players. Edit: Oh, almost forgot, was it not according to you that Fangio was the only thing holding this D back?!
... The answer is to rebuild yes. The definition of insanity is to do the same things and expect different results This team does not win. Three years we have seen no growth or improvement. We have older players that make too much money. Keeping this team together and expecting to win next year is not sane. This team is currently 44 million o er the cap for next season. Changes have to be made. So yes I am advocating trading away all established veterans.. getting the payroll under control and rebuilding through the draft.
Nope. I said last season that injuries hurt the defense more than anything else. I was super excited to have Fangio in the beginning. As the season went on I didn't think he was putting players in the right position to make plays and he was too rigid in not changing things up when players got hurt. Then when I heard that a lot of players had disdain for him I said that it was probably good that he was let go. The defense, under Weaver, has been poor for the most part. Some of that is injury related, but most of it is because he's a new coach implementing new things. I'm not out on Weaver at all. I don't think giving coaches 2 or 4 or even 17 games (unless it's a Philbin type situation) is enough to make a determination on whether they are good or not.
Cbrad... Okay... So will we see you posting a plenty now that the Dolphins **** the bed yesterday? Or will you do as you accuse others of hardly posting when things are not going like you predicted? Asking for a friend.
Did you read what I responded to... accusations of other posters... Stereotyping... Trying to frame an arguement and put people in groups to criticise them. It is only fair to ask him if he will be different now that Tua could not lead the Dolphins to victory and the season is over if he will be different than the people he is criticising. Surely you can understand that, right?
He's made 10 posts since the end of the game you dolt. You're trolling. @Etrius24 And you still don't have me on ignore like you bragged about for days now...liar
This portion of your post is utter nonsense. Tua did not, repeat DID NOT lose that game for us yesterday and anyone who says or suggests otherwise either doesn't know what they are talking about or is so blinded by emotion that they can't see the trees for the forest.
I consistently post regardless of the outcome if you look at my history. During the time we had a backup QB I happened to be in Taiwan and Japan most of the time so I didn't post much, but you're barking up the wrong tree.
Yeah, it's always Tua...coming off of a 5 week absence he had nearly a 100 passer rating and yet it's "Tua". lmao...Ridiculous.
Ok, now be careful, be VERY careful before you try to call out Brad! He and I have had many heated, fact based debates over the YEARS and I've only seen you here for the last month or so. I think you'll find many of us established members will call you out for calling out a well respected member of this site. I'm just saying, that's all.
And that is fair enough... I have no issue with Brad at all... We have had some decent conversations years back. I was just pointing out the other side of the arguement he was making is all.
That is fair that the loss was more on the D, but Tua and the O played a part in it as well, let’s say 60/40 or to be generous 70/30. The Cards had the better QB yesterday but also lesser drops from their receivers.
So I was at the game yesterday and just got home this afternoon up in NJ. Most of you watched the game and know how things went but for anyone who wasn't there I'll tell you how it felt in the stands. Great vibe with Tua coming back and I mean GREAT! The crowd loves Tua. The internet crowd can be brutal but when you're there the love for #1 is undeniable especially it being his first game back. When he took off running much of the crowd were screaming SLIDE!!! I was one of those fans screaming and when he got up from that slide the place went nuts. Achane was electric as was Wright. Mostert is on his way out and it's obvious he's a couple steps behind the other two backs. Ramsey was a huge disappointment watching him miss a few key tackles in the backfield. One play in particular it was designed for Ramsey to get there and he flat out missed the tackle in a critical moment. After the game you could hear talks among fans of high draft picks and relief Tua made it through the game ok. This is a lost season and everyone knows it. I'm glad I went and got to see Tua come back. He wasn't perfect but just having him back gave the offense a shot of adrenaline and it was a fun game to see even though we lost. Being in Miami seeing my team is like heaven to me and I can't wait for next year's trip down. Fins up!
I'd say yesterday's loss and this season as a whole is 100% on Chris Grier. Biggest problem yesterday was our secondary, Poyer, Ramsey, and especially Cam Smith all got burned on multiple occasions. I said Poyer was over the hill when we signed him, Ramsey is also past his prime which is why it was asinine to make him the highest paid CB this year, and Cam Smith, another bust in Grier's long list of busts. BTW when is Chop Robinson actually going to set an edge or get a sack? Another bust in the making. Added to the list of the Iggy bust, charles harris bust, Tindall bust, on and on. God I can’t stand grier please God let us be rid of him.
Just to put some statistics in here, a team that scores 27 points wins about 61% of the time historically. That means that the defense was responsible for something that occurs 39% of the time. I'm not sure how to apportion credit or blame in this case, but I personally would say it's generous blaming only 70% on the defense in such a case. I'm leaning more 80/20 defense vs. offense. Also, don't forget that average points per game in the NFL in 2024 is 22.7. Scoring 27 points is well above the average.
Yeah, I had the feeling yesterday that the Dolphins crowd was unusually loud and it was nice to see (hear)! Great you‘ve got to enjoy it in real life despite the bad ending. Cheers!
Agreed for the most part but like you wrote yourself the O didn’t do anything on the last drive and the Cards drove down the field. I think the safety started our downfall. Can’t wait for next week in Buffalo, what kind of team are we going to see.
YOU say I hate Tua. I've said FROM THE ****ING BEGINNING, that I thought, barring injury, he would would have a good career. I've said I like him as a person. BECAUSE I don't think he is an elite franchise QB, because he can't stay healthy, you say I hate Tua. It's so ridiculous. You took this stance agaist me pretty much immediately, abs have refused to ever acknowledge the this I've said. You instead say that I just don't mean them, I'm a liar, whatever. You and Dan misrepresent my positions all the time, and regardless of how many times I attempt to correct your error, you just go on, like nothing was said. It's pathetic how much you obsess over me. It's pretty much exactly what you did to another poster.
