Flores was never a defensive coordinator before becoming a head coach. He was a linebackers coach. So no, he wasn't a successful coordinator. This is like the fourth or fifth piece of wrong information you have posted in the last 24 hours.
This guy came in here guns blazing under the name "Please Sell this Team". He messaged me a bunch of times trying to convince me that he wasn't someone posting under a different user name. Then he talked to a mod and supposedly he posted here a long time ago under this current "Etruis24" and asked if they would change his name back. Why he didn't just log into the old name is curious. There was a poster here by that name a long time ago. He posted stuff like: "Kiss my a**hole right in the middle" and he LOVED Tua. Now he's back bashing Tua non stop. I don't think they're the same guy.
Not really. BB was the DC and called plays. I'm sure he had assistance from people (Flores being one of those people) for most of his time in NE, but Flores never had full DC responsibility...not even close from what I've read.
No, Mostert was a journeyman and was brought in as depth behind Chase Edmonds who was signed be the starting running back that year. McDaniel made him a star.
I got a 10 paragraph message from him too that I don't even want to get into because it's just so bizarre.
He kept messaging me acting as if we were long lost buds or something. lol Then he told another person to "ask Dan what's going on" as if I could vouch for him.
Doug Marrone, former head coach Jacksonville Jaguars; currently offensive line coach New Orleans Saints Jim Caldwell; former head coach Detroit Lions; then quarterback coach Miami Dolphins Adam Gase; former head coach Miami Dolphins/New York jets; now consultant for NFL quarterbacks Bill Callahan; former head coach Oakland Raiders; currently offensive line coach Tennessee Titans. That’s a quick 5 minute search. There are plenty of former NFL head coaches that don’t get another head coaching gig or a coordinator position, relegating them lower down the coaching tree. And before you point to Adam Gase, remember you’re talking about the New York Jets
Oh and Flores was NOT coordinator before becoming the Dolphins head coach. He was the linebackers coach and various other positions coaches in New England.
I mean you are correct... Bellicheat was a great defensive mastermind... But Flores had earned his trust over a period of years and was calling the plays in New England before he left. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/22677963/brian-flores-lead-new-england-patriots-defense-title So he got promoted to DC... but he never got the title. But thank you for correcting me.
Guys like Patricia and Flores did help with the defensive play calling, but BB was the de facto DC and designed and called plays. “Calling plays is not that much more responsibility for Belichick, who has always been involved with the defense, even when Matt Patricia and Brian Flores were the coordinator," Volin wrote. "Belichick usually coaches the defensive linemen during the game, and often told Patricia and Flores when to call blitzes." https://syndication.bleacherreport....all-patriots-defensive-plays-in-2019.amp.html
Hey, I can't be the only dude here with a clue, and an unbiased opinion. Joking, tbt I agree with you on a lot of points, just not on this one. Peace.
Flores was such a good defensive coach that the Dolphins had the 32nd, 6th, and 16th ranked defenses in his 3 years in Miami. He was “cooking”. Lol He took a number 10 Minny defensive and has brought it up to 6th. “Cooking”… lol Yes, that’s an improvement.. but 10th to 6th is like a FG difference per game.
I came back a few weeks ago ...But the first thing I did was message the mods to restore my original account.... I did not want to be known under 2 handles... I asked them to activate my original handle and they said yes.... So here i am... One identity is enough for me.
4 back-to-back-to-back-to-back posts by @Etrius24 with one reply to himself. You sure are trying hard to prove something. (BTW, if I can @ you you’re not ignoring me. Liar… lmao)
This is a lie.... and lazy research.... I can poke holes it in without googling. Want an example.... This is child's play... Here we go... Adam Gase... After getting fired from Miami he immediately got a head coaching job with the new york jets. Gase failed miserably at that role and was then relegated down the line in coaching responsibility. As for Jim Caldwell.... It was 8 years later after his last head coaching Job he got a job with the Miami Dolphins as a QB coach... So he did not go directly from a HC job to a QB coach job.... This is another example that does not apply. I am pretty lazy... it is 7 am I have been up all night writing for a project... So I am not going to google any of the other examples. If I did I am sure I could shoot holes in them also as you did not go from their HC role to their next role with your examples. But regardless... Cheers.
I don't delete posts but I apologized. Those two are just so similar I got confused with who I was debating. I'll be more careful to not injure they/them in the future.
