Aaron Rodgers probably demanded he be fired.

For sure. Though I think losing to Sam Darnold was probably tough for their ownership and front office. :chuckle:

Terrible news, now they might stumble upon a decent coach. Probably not, but I'm saying there's a chance.

This is why I have never worried about the New York Jets.

    The New York Jets suck!
    They always have
    They always will

No matter how bad things are in Miami just remember it could always be worse…you could be a Jets fan

That should have been a slap in their face. Instead of firing Salah, they should have asked “maybe were the problem”

The other day I was listening to ESPN radio (I forget which show), and they were talking about the resurgence of Darnold and Mayfield. They were discussing how the organization is key to a young quarterback’s development and named Cleveland and the Jets as the worst places for a qb to be drafted by.

Good God Almighty, look at this list!

Instead of it being a list of who’s who it’s more like a list of WHO???

I couldn't be happier for such a classy organization. Saleh will land on his feet and the Jests, per usual, will land on their a**es.

Reports are the jets sent security to escort him out of Jets facilities not allowing him to address the coaches and/or staff.. this speaks volumes of that organization.. pretty pathetic by Woody Johnson

Why are the Jets like a possum?

They play dead at home and get killed on the road.

Now, to be fair, I was open to trading for Watson, but that was before the allegations. As it is, Baker Mayfield is somewhere laughing his behind off.

Yea he is.. Deshaun watson contract is 250 million guaranteed..

baker just signed a 3 year 100 million extension.. more than half of deshauns contract..

baker is the far better player and likely is richer than Deshaun money wise because he did not have to settle with all the masseuse of america

Saleh has been an incompetent head for years, just took more incompetence to keep him on.

They did the right thing unfortunately firing him now..sucks for us but the right thing.

Sure don’t hear many talking about the difference

I suppose that because in Tuas first two games he wasn’t lighting it up

But the difference in skill level is astounding to run this offense

Nathaniel Hackett has just been removed as the offensive play caller for the Jets per ESPN.

Rumors are that Saleh was actually fired because Woody Johnson didn't appreciate his wearing a Lebanese flag pin on his shirts in practice and at games. Saleh is a first-generation American born of Lebanese immigrants whereas Johnson is a huge Israel stan and speculation is that Saleh's pin was a quiet protest against the actions of Israel against Hezbollah in Lebanon, which allegedly killed hundreds of Lebanese citizens who have nothing to do with Hezbollah.

Don't get me wrong, Saleh hasn't done anything to prove he should be the Jests head coach, but if true, the loss last week was Johnson's excuse to fire him early, but not necessarily the reason for doing so. Dang, we live in a complicated time.

I'm surprised the league would allow Saleh to wear the pin to begin with. What he puts on his social media is his business but keeping politics out of sports is how it should be.

It's heritage month. You could wear a country patch if you want to. Saleh wore it every year he coached. Belichick used to wear the Croatian flag patch.

I’m 100% A-OK with people using their platforms for their own political beliefs. I’m
Also OK with an owner of a company reprimanding or not wanting to hire someone because of their political beliefs.

As a Marine, I’ve always laughed at both sides of this. How can a person be “pro America” and then criticize a person for using their freedom of speech? And how can a person use their freedom of speech and bash the people that allowed them to have it?

Even though those are good examples for politics in sports, politics were the reason they brought it into sports the first place. You‘ve also got bad examples imo. I think sports should be just sports nothing more, even though I know those days are long gone.

So I just looked it up and read what it's about. I've never heard of it before this. I think it's stupid and divisive. One country one flag. I don't care what heritage anyone is whether it's a player or a coach. We're all Americans in my eyes.

I also tried to link the iconic raised fist of the 68 Olympics, but NPR doesn't allow it apparently. Politics and mass media are linked. I presume that TheHighExalted is correct and it is heritage month. Outside politics made a heritage display political, and the politics also supposedly led to a coaching change. Pro sports are pro because they are mass entertainment. That's were the $ come from, and $ are politics in America. Corp $ are protected speech now. I should probably drop this as Pofo isn't protected speech on this board... LOL.

It's only divisive if people bring division into it. America is mostly an immigrant country. We can melt and acknowledge individual heritage and non American family at the same time. Acknowledging a specific strain shouldn't devalue the super culture that we've grown.
