Yes, ridiculous. Tua, Armstead, Phillips, they are not injury prone. It's all just bad luck. Ignore all logic and common sense folks, injury prone players are a myth. Those who are durable should just thank their lucky charms, eveyone is built the same some are just more lucky than others.

It’s funny because you’re not smart enough to understand any of this, think you’re arguing with me, and yet you’re willing to die in your trailer arguing about it.

Facts are, a concussion has nothing to do with an ACL tear. Getting hit by a car and breaking one’s wrist has no bearing on what happens on the football field. When a person is trampled by 600#’s and falls awkwardly, they will get injured. When a 350# man slams your head into the ground, you’re going to get concussed.

Your problem is you think injuries that would hurt anyone make that person “injury prone”.

I’m going by science and you’re going by your 11th grade education. Lol

You're literally arguing against scientific studies and medical professionals. I’m not just making this up, like you are. I’m going by objective proof and facts.

Here's Big O talking about the Phillips injury and being injury prone as well as McDaniels and the team's idiocy for playing him. Watch it from about the 2:40 mark.

If phillips wants a career beyond his rookie contract, take the full reconstructive surgery and the full rehab. If he goes the tannehill route he is risking it all. Tannehill already had it made, his contract was done.

I dont see Phillips as a dolphin after his fifth year option which we picked up in april. but he still has a chance to have a career in the nfl even in a reserve role. Hell id take him in that role on our team. We need to address the position in a real way because i dont think he can be relied on

Ok, the “injury prone” labeling of Jaelen Phillips makes no sense. He was drafted in 2021, played in every game, never injured. He played in every game in 2022 and never injured. He played in 2023 and was injured during Miami’s 8th game.

Phillips attacks his rehab to make it back in time for the 2024 season and sadly he injures his knee last week.

So 4 years, 46 games, 42 of them before he ruptured his Achilles and now he’s injury prone?

Makes no sense if you ask me.

He’s as “injury prone” as any other NFL player that’s been injured.
It’s insane to say that a guy is “injury prone” because they were hit by a car and broke their wrist or had a concussion and then tore their Achilles on a field that’s notorious for injuring players.

    Why are ignoring college?

Being injury prone doesn't mean that you are the cause it the fault of the injuries.

The only way his college injury history become relevant in my opinion is if would have been injured his rookie year in the NFL, but seeing how he played 2 1/2 seasons before being injured, what happened in college is irrelevant

Well because it can indicate that someone is injury prone. It didn't mean that they will reinjure that same thing in the NFL. It means that they may have numerous other injuries, if that's what their history shows.

These arguments are not genuine or serious. No use arguing with them. They dont believe injury prone players even exist.

Unless a player keeps injuring the exact same body part over and over there is no such thing as being injury prone. Don't you get it?

Here is the definition of injury prone for those here that are mentally handicapped. Says nothing about sustaining injuries to the same body part over and over, it just means someone who is often injured, which could be in various ways with unrelated body parts.

Yeah, not surprising that you use Webster’s for all your medical opinions. I thought for sure McDonald’s would have health insurance. How are you enjoying that $15/ hr? Have you paid off your trailer yet?

You’ll ignore science and use a definition in Webster’s instead. Talk about being mentally delayed.

Hey look! Unicorns are real! They’re in Webster’s and everything! Lmaooo

Look, injury prone players do exist in all sports, but there is some serious reaching and conflating going on here.

If you were wary of Phillips because of the neck/concussions from college and concerned he might have the same issue in the NFL, sure. But to try to connect it to an achilles injury on a lousy field and then a contact knee injury? C'mon now.

If you want to say Tua is now progressively more concussion prone I won't argue. But that doesn't mean I am just holding my breath until he tears a pec or breaks his foot.

There has to be some relation or progression from the injury. You blow out both knees in non-contact? Ok, something might be off. You can't stop getting high ankle sprains and that leads to a knee issue? Ok, plausible. Anyone remember Kevin White? Not sure what his history in college was, but after that first leg injury in the NFL he just kept piling them up. That's the kind of thing I am talking about.

The bottom line is that the NFL is a rough game. Guys will get injured. Even the most protected people get injured. Brady missed a season. Most guys will have at least one and possibly more than one major injury if they are good enough to be in the league more than a year or two. Would I be wary of Phillips and giving him a monster extension? Yes. Do we have to give him an extension this year? No. You let him play on the 5th year next year after a full rehab and see what happens. If he has a dominant year without injury then you can talk extension. If he gets another big injury? Thanks for the service buddy.

I agree with your course lf action on Phillips, that is exactly what we should do with him. Although knowing Grier he is now probably looking at extending him thinking he will get a bargain.

However, I disagree that Phillips is not Injury prone. He is in fact injury prone. Throughout his career in college and the pros he has been injured more than he has been healthy. He put together only 1 healthy season in college, and really only 1 full healthy season as a pro since he had a limited snap count as a rookie.

Just because his injuries have been to various different body parts does not mean he is not injury prone. He most definitely is.

“Injury prone”, as you’ve alluded to, is a real thing if we’re talking about chronic issues. However, using a past injury to predict future injuries is just jot going to lead to any sort of reasonable expectations or outcomes. In other words, if a person does that they will be wrong way more often than right. Now, if you’re a person that just says everyone who is ever injured is “injury prone” you’ll of course hit on that sometimes because nearly all NFL players get injured at some point in time. And, if we were to look at all of the players this was said about we’d find that person is wrong way more than right.
Saying that, you definitely have players that are either lazy and half azz practice and/or rehab or you have players that are reckless with their bodies. These players will end up being hurt more.
In summary, chronic issues do exist and lazy/reckless players do exist. So in that respect “injury prone” is a thing. However, just because a player gets a concussion or tests their ACL doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be drafted if the skill is there. If teams refused to draft players like that (like what some stupid people are suggesting) nearly half of the players currently in the NFL would have never been drafted. And, players like Brady, Marino, etc etc, would have never been signed to another NFL contract. Which is just so stupid.

People are saying that they were concerned about those injuries in college, yes. And now, with different injuries, they're concerned that he's a guy who's just always injured. It happens. People can call it bad luck, but I don't believe in luck. I just believe that some people's bodies for whatever reason are just prone to injury. Like every guy who plays on that field doesn't tear an Achilles. Phillips did.

No one is arguing that the injuries now are related to the collegiate injuries, and even saying you believe he is injury prone doesn't mean you are saying that current injuries are related to past. They're completely separate things.

If past injuries aren’t related to the present then “injury prone” isn’t a thing. You and I agree.

However, there is definitely “bad luck”. JP’s ACL injury was a very low chance thing. However, most players would have suffered the same injury in that same situation.
Josh Allen was knocked unconscious today from his head hitting the ground. Thoughts?

Dan, your argument is so pedantic. Fine, Tua doesn't retire. Great. So we're stuck with a guy that is seemingly gonna miss time every year. How is that a win? Do you think teams will beat down our doors to try to get him?

I don't really understand your point. Like, you completely ignore stuff like the guy with a month symptom free who takes a sip of wine and goes temporarily blind. No one is saying he's gonna be a vegetable tomorrow if he doesn't retire. We're saying the effects 20 years from now may be horrific.

Dan I would still start looking at QB in the 1st round as a replacement for Tua but it's obvious he can and should come back if he decides to continue. We need a better contingency plan at QB but there's no doubt Tua is being treated way different than everyone else in the league with all the criticism. You're the only one here who never batted an eye. I'll be down in Miami for week 8 and expect Tua to be on the field.

Well, not that Allen is injury prone maybe the Bills won’t be so tough, huh? And the wine thing with Hodges just makes me laugh. Some of you here keeping talking about it like you have any idea what you’re talking about. The wine didn’t make him lose his site. (If he truly lost his site) Some concussions can have long lasting symptoms. No matter if it’s the first or 10th. Allen was knocked out cold today. Most likely concussed. How do you feel about him taking one play off?

And Tua’s concussions won’t have any effects on him 20 years down the line. If he’s going to have CTE it won’t be due to his concussions.
