Personally I think his performance gets blown out of all proportion in that game, it was the defense and their turnovers that kept it close. Sure the receivers dropped a couple of balls but Skylar was pretty terrible in that game as well.
He didn’t really run the offense in that game in Buffalo. He completed 40% of his passes with a 44 passer rating. He did look serviceable that preseason, but he’s horrible.
I was very surprised how bad he was thinking the same way. After he beat out Mike White I assumed he would be capable of holding things down and he obviously wasn't.
Not trying to bash the guy, because he really gave a heroic effort against Buffalo in the playoff game, but on Sunday, it really looked like he was new to the position. I really don’t know what they see in practice that makes them think he belongs on the roster.
He genuinely looked scared to throw the ball. Boyle looked much better and he's proven to be absolute dog turd. I'm amazed they aren't working out an injury settlement for Skylar right now, he has no place on the roster.
