I just read this again. How can u with a straight face post this? Wake up! This might be the most disappointing 4 years in the last 25 years. We had all those draft picks and it amounted to 2 wildcard apperances. The sad part Grier is still here to make.it even worse. He will.probally panic give up our number 1 for Jimmy Grappilo or something stupid like that.
Post facts with a straight face? The truth is, no matter the team, throughout NFL history, we see how some teams just seem to have the “number” for another team. Hell, look at the Dolphins and the Patriots from 2001-2020. Even with Brady and Belichick, and the Dolphins being pretty mediocre or worse, they had relatively good success against the Patriots. Not to the extent of what the Bills have done against the Dolphins, but the Dolphins regularly beat the Pats more than other teams. It happens. And it sucks that the Bills just so happen to be in the Dolphins division, but one team having the “number” for another team isn’t unprecedented. And basing the overall accomplishments of a team on just one opponent is shortsighted.
Yes, the truth hurts your feelings. Glad you can admit it. The point is, there’s constant fudging of the facts or hyperbole used by some here so as to make their argument seem even more plausible. The Dolphins, with McD and Tua are 1-5. That’s just the truth. If the truth hurts you I can’t help it. Stop crying over facts.
If u can't beat the top dog in ur division then u are going nowhere. That is plain facts! They needed this game to have any shot at division because this team is not built for.cold weather another fact! No south flordia playoff game no end to.playoff drought. I guess ur happy with this failed regime but most of us are not. All the criticism on this board and outside this board is justified. Spin it anyway u want does not make u right
I agree that winning the division is key. My point isn’t that the Dolphins don’t need to figure that out.
First off all I didn't hyperbole anything.I was wrong thinking that 20-19 game where Allen through the ball at wrs feet to end game was Flores .Unlike U I can admitt when I made a minor mistake. And u make 1-5 sound like it's so much better than 0-6.. Is this hyperbole 4-10 in Dec games,3-10 in nationally televised games How about this 1-11 in last 12 games against teams that finished. Over .500
You can fudge the numbers and get mad when corrected. You can even look at the numbers you posted and determine that those are, by themselves, the end all, be all. However, if you want to get closer to the truth of these things you’ll have to add more context. What you’re doing is akin to looking at a QB stat of “500 passing yards in a game” and using that alone as a reason the QB had a fantastic game. Well, what if that 500 yard game was also a 25 of 50, 0 TD, 5 INT game. Would you still think it was fantastic? I doubt it. Same goes with all these win/loss stats you’re showing. By themselves they mean little. How many of those games was Tua absent from? How many 2nd and 3rd strings, even off the couch, players were in those games? Who were the opponents? All of that should be factored in or else you’re really not showing us much.
I believe some sort of learning disability is more likely, and that's nothing to be ashamed of, but his participation here means others must practice tolerance and patience.
Still hiding behind an alt? I mean, I get that I’ve probably made you cry, and you don’t want your main account banned, but at least be a man and don’t hide any more than you already are. I can promise you that my words on your parent’s computer screen aren’t able to hurt you.
If that makes u feel better in ur little mind so be it Good luck finding anyone else that will agree with last few posts of jibberish.
I don’t “feel” anyway about words on a screen except maybe some disbelief and humor sometimes. I’m sorry that you can’t understand basic stuff.
I wonder…I wonder how many thought the same thing about Jimmy Johnson and Dave Wannstedt, seeing how the Dolphins lost to the NY Jets 8 times in a row? Those were playoff teams and yet, we couldn’t beat the hapless Jets. How many times did Tom Brady and the Patriots lose to the Dolphins in Miami, particularly in the month of December? Within divisions, there are hot and cold cycles against certain teams. This is just one of those cycles. The Buffalo Bills are that team that just have our number.

I hated this move.... And the reason is simple enough: "Why pay someone who has not won anything?" This team was built backwards... Paper thin Offensive and defensive lines... Nothing special when it comes to MLB play. Predictably, the Dolphins have stunk up the joint. (Even without the Tua injury) So again, why reward the HC who was one of the masterminds for building this team?
Typically a new member to the forums doesn’t pop in to a single thread and starting swinging a sledgehammer of disdain and discontent without at least establishing himself within the forum community first.
Update on my end, year three collecting data. Grier fired for sure, enough data is in for me McDaniel has to show the ability and leadership to flip this team back in the right direction to compete, be more disciplined on the field, make a run when Tua get back. Sink or swim third year.
Look at some of his other posts. Calling others who missed on some college prospects “Post Gods”. There’s no way he is “new”.
Hey guys I need a little help navigating. I tried to start a thread in the introduction section... I cannot figure out how to do that. I tried to PM more experienced members for advice and I cannot figure out how to do that either. Any help is appreciated
Well my favourite thing to do as a fan of a team that has not won a playoff game in 25 years is to look to the future and run through scenarios for the draft. What trades could we make? What players should we draft? What players should we sign? And you guys that have 137,000 posts are the posting gods here. That was not a dig at all... Statement of fact. I am pointing out how difficult it is to look at a crop of QB's on almost any given year and pick out the right one for the Dolphins. Even for the guys that post here the most. Look back 5 or 6 years and we see that people make predictions or pick a QB to be their favourite and more often than not it turns out to be wrong. I mean if it was so freaking easy, every team would have a Patrick Mahomes clone starting for them.
And for the record, I firmly stand by my take: "why pay someone that has not won anything here yet?" They fired Flores and all Flores did was get this team to play hard, smart, and disciplined football. They traded away a ton of first round picks to acquire veterans, overpaid all of those players and surrounded the New QB and HC with talent at skill positions. And the net result has not really been much of anything. This is a team that cannot really win anymore football games a year than when Flores was here. If Flores was so bad, and had no clue... If McDaniel is so amazing... Where are the results? If anyone here has a company and the person you hired is costing that company money three or four years in a row and all you have to show for their employment is a promise to do better next year. You fire that person. You DO NOT reward their failure with a promotion or a raise.
You do have a point on QB's. Personally I think that the real defining characteristic between great college QB's, and great pro QB's is how they transition to the increased play speed of the NFL, and complexity of the better quality NFL defenses for play calling and audibles from the pocket. What is their level of awareness in a chaotic situation, and how quickly they can make decisive reads. The ability to make multiple reads quickly and then make decisions mid execution based on their own personal skill set. When to dump it off, when to go deep, and when to tuck the ball and run for daylight. A bit of the same can be said for receivers and tight ends. How situationally aware are they? Do they show the ability to recognize and react when a called play breaks down and they need to break off their route to give the QB a target, or transition to blocking for a fellow team mate. Nothing will piss me off faster than seeing a receiver finish their route or feel like they were open and the QB didn't feed them the ball, and then just stand there looking useless or worse yet throw their arms up in the air to say hey I was open. Sure, maybe the QB missed that, or maybe they saw a different option they believed was better. Anyway about it, once you finish your route put your damn eyes on the QB to see where he is looking to go with the ball and the flow of the defense, then get your *** to that spot to either block for the ball carrier or worst case scenario on a broken play possibly play defense to break up an interception, recover a fumble, or tackle a defender who got hold of the ball in the case of a turn over. You're supposed to be one of the fastest guys on the field, so use that speed to help your team in any way you can. Running backs tend to transition very well. A great college running back is usually going to end up at the least a quality pro running back. The greats at the pro level differentiate themselves in some of the the same ways as both a receiver and a QB. Reading the defense, keeping eyes on the ball, transitioning to blockers when needed, and the ability to improvise when a play breaks down. All the above can be found in two basic qualities, intelligence, and selflessness on the field. I think the best GM's and scouts can discern those qualities and factor them in better than the average or below average GM or scout. I think with linemen on either side it's easier in general to separate the wheat from the chafe in the draft. Are they big, are they fast, and how often do they neutralize the guy lined up opposite them and make it to the next level? LB's, Safeties, and CB's have to possess some of the same qualities as QB's, WR's, TE's, and RB's in in intelligence, field awareness, and decisiveness. A great physical prospect can be found on all college teams, but players that posses the mental acuity to read and process information at high speed are the ones that will become high quality to elite in the NFL.
I am willing to keep him around and see what he can create. If they could keep the majority of starters healthy for a change this team could get very interesting. But my thoughts don't go far in the popcorn gallery.
