Way to come out with a win. The D shut them down the entire 2nd half.

It was sloppy but I think a lot of that is from little practice and not playing in the preseason.

Came out slow and out of sync, but being able to overcome that and pull out a win is huge.

Good *** win against a quality opponent. It was a sloppy, ugly, slugfest but we got em.

Glad we got the win, but please stop with the preseason excuse. The jags played the same amount of preseason games as we did. It's not like they looked better than us for 3 out of 4 quarters because they had more time to prepare.

We already have as many wins against playoff teams as we did all of last season.

You're right, my bad. I forgot about their late-season collapse (that somehow the sports media doesn't talk about).

Again, this was a quality opponent we played. They have a complete roster from the top to the bottom. Your round the clock whining suggests that you expected us to blow them out as if they are an inferior opponent. They're not. That team is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball. This wasn't the Carolina Panthers we were playing. This was the equivalent of a playoff matchup and we pulled through. Puh-lease! Just stop your crying on here! Be happy we won. Or go cry in your car.

Yeah, because Ramsey, Waddle, Brewer, JP, et. al. really played and practiced as much as the Jags players did in the preason.

Just STFU and go troll someplace else. You leave for 6 months and then only come back to complain and be wrong. It's old.

You do realize it's irrelevant if you look better for 3 out of 4 quarters if you lose the game. I'm sure Jags fans aren't happy with how their team played. This post reminds me of your criticism of Tua not being consistent for 4 quarters in that Ravens game where he helped engineer a 2nd half comeback from a 21-point deficit. This game wasn't in that league of course, and in this game it's more about the entire team (Holland and Hill stand out however), but it's similar in that it showed how the team can overcome deficits early in the game.

There was a time not long ago when the Dolphins gave fans no confidence that they could come back from early deficits. Not this team. Maybe focus on how the team has improved to the point it's not unexpected they can come back from such deficits instead of criticizing lack of consistency for 4 quarters, which really doesn't matter as much as you're making it out to be.

Oh, first excuse is preseason is too short (like its not the same for every team) now excuse is injuries, beginning of the season and we are already starting with the injury excuses, like we're the only team that has to deal with injuries.

I never post much in the offseason, the same old homering and superbowl prognostication on here gets too obnoxious.

Nobody has us going to the super bowl. With that being said, I'd rather surround myself with people that continue to support their team over toxic people like you that do nothing but spread negativity and insults on an Internet forum.

I can't take the no preseason thing seriously when we came out like gangbusters last year with about the same amount of preseason. But that said, week 1 can often be ugly. We went out and played an ugly game but came away with the W, we showed some grit and guts. The defense showed up, the playmakers made plays.

We have to play better against Buffalo and hopefully we will. I want some to lay Josh Allen out.

Yeah, sorry. I'm not happy with us being a borderline playoff team who will not contend for a super bowl again after all the years spent rebuilding, wasting draft capital, giving out the biggest contracts in the league, etc... with not even 1 playoff win to show for it, let alone contending for a super bowl which is where we should actually be right now.

Anyone else think Mostert looked slow today? Father time might be catching up.

How about Ingold on those 3rd and shorts? Reminded me of Lousaka Polite for a minute. I don't know why they didn't use him last year.

Not ready to judge after just one game, but if Mostert looks that way against Buffalo, he needs to be benched and they need to let the rookie play.

The Jaguars played more of their starters more during preseason than Miami did. That’s just a fact.

I think it’s systematic of the timing problems across the league. Less pads and not playing starters at all in preseason. How that became an excuse I’m not sure. It’s more of observation.

He got banged up on the first play.

I thought Waddle looked slow on his big catch, I was shocked he got caught, thought for sure he was just going to run past that guy and score.

He just took the wrong route. If he would have ran towards the sidelines I don't think he gets caught. For some reason he stayed towards the middle of the field.

Don’t move the goalposts. You claimed that every team’s players has the same amount of practice. False I mean, a smart person would look at the injury report before the game and see the stark difference between the Jags and Dolphins. No surprise that you didn’t look.

There’s no excuses needed. The Dolphins won.

And God forbid fans of a team (legit fans) actually have optimism about their team. You’re using hyperbole in order to make excuses. No one said the Dolphins are going to the Super Bowl. Although, us real fans hope that will be the case. It’s obvious you relish when the Dolphins play badly.

Right. So if someone doesn't think that was a "great" win is a troll.

There were three quarters of garbage. We're lucky that Jacksonville only put up 17. The 4th quarter made everything look Ok statistically.

I want impressed at all. Glad we won. Not impressed.

Yeah, the Dolphins had nothing to do with the Jags putting up 17 points. The Jags decided to stop scoring. Lol

Why stop there? Did the Jags allow the Dolphins to score 20 points? I mean, sure that’s one way to think.

Cinci lost to the hapless Patriots.
The Bills squeaked by an AZ defense much worse than the Jags. The Texans beat the Colts by 2. Jackson (reigning MVP) looked like dog crap. Jordan Love and Hurts looked like crappy rookies with their 80-something passer rating. Cleveland was slaughtered.

Yeah, it’s almost like it was the first game of the season and not many teams impressed. You’d think a fan of a team they root for would be happy with a win.

  28. Springveldt

Yeah, you are right. NextGenStats has the Dolphins fastest ball carrier yesterday as Waddle at 20.31mph which I'm assuming is that play. Maybe the Jags safety is fast and had just enough of an angle.

I agree, except about the part of playing like ****. The first half was brutal, but in the second half the offense was much better and even the OL was average. Other than Jones I think the OL played OK.
The defense gave up 2 long drives, one which was helped due to a DPI, but other than those 2 drives they gave up only 76 yards total for all the other drives. They were also put into some tough situations when the offense turned it over on downs twice.

They were definitely rusty and out of synch that first half, especially the offense, but they hung in there and pulled out the win. The last drive, while I would have liked for them to make it easier on Sanders and get a few more yards, was encouraging. They ran the ball up the middle well on that drive and got what they needed to get into FG range.

Actually that was the most encouraging thing yesterday. We didn’t play well in all phases and still managed to win against a good team. Now do it on the road and late in the season.

Complaining after a win and gloating after a loss is what trolls do. It’s the definition of trolling. Making outrageous claims with not an ounce of objectivity, wanting to be correct about a player more than wanting that player to prove you wrong, using hyperbole in order to make yourself look correct, disappearing after great games and great play, but showing up after a bad game to gloat with the “I told you so’s”… all trolling. Does anyone do that here?

As we should be? WTF does that even mean? Your entire post makes no sense.

Should the Pats also be in 1st place? Should the Bengals be tied for last place?

But yes, it will also be nice to be in 1st place come December. (Again, another weird thing to write)

That was definitely a fantastic play, but I think the 80 yard pass and catch from Tua to Tyreek, the Ramsey sideline-to-sideline tackle for a loss on 4th and 1 that gave the Dolphins the ball back, Sanders 52 yard last second field goal, (and there are others), were also MVP worthy plays that decided the game.
