As always lets get out of this game healthy.

On Friday, the Miami Dolphins will host the Atlanta Falcons at Hard Rock Stadium as both teams make their 2024 NFL preseason debut. It remains to be seen how much the starters will play (if at all), but regardless, it’s great to have football back.

Here is everything you need to know surrounding the Dolphins vs. Falcons Week 1 preseason game, including the channel, start time, live stream options, and more.
    Atlanta Falcons at Miami Dolphins
    • Start time: Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, 7 p.m. ET
    • Channel: Local
    • Live stream options: NFL+
    • Radio stations: 92.9 The Game, Dolphins Broadcast Network
    • Starting QBs: Michael Penix Jr., Mike White
    • Betting lines:
      • Spread: ATL -2.5
      • Total: 38.5
      • Moneyline: ATL -148, MIA +124
The Falcons head to Miami to take on the Dolphins as both teams prepare to begin their season. After an impressive offseason between free agent signings, draft selections, and extensions, the Dolphins are prepped and ready to improve on their late-season collapse in 2023.

Has the team made enough of a mark in other areas to take another shot at a Super Bowl in 2024? The splashes on defense look promising, but time will tell with the all-important Achilles heel of the Dolphins: the offensive line.

Exhibition games are always "meh" affairs. I'm watching to see players trying to make the team. I care more about roster hopefuls winning individual matchups than about winning the game. And next week, I'll be watching to see who got better with a week's worth of coaching with game film to consider.

I'm just excited that football is back. Don't really care about the "game" so much. Especially the 1st game.

yeah, but if our OL gets blown up that is a concern, that means our already injured thin line is in trouble.

I just want us to find a gem amongst either the cornerback or offensive line position. I have a feeling those are going to be our more vulnerable spots this season and it'd be great if an unknown was able to rise from the bottom of the depth chart into an advantageous contributing role.

Very interesting that Chop was inactive tonight. He might have already solidified a big role for this team. I know it's first game preseason but Jaylen Wright looks like the real deal and Patrick Paul is just a force in the run game.

IMO any player being out is not significant, the coaches get more than enough in the joint sessions, these games are exhibitions for the roster chaff. While Chop is a rookie, he's not chaff and will play a big role at a position that isn't especially deep until Phillips and Chubb are back, healthy and playing like the elite guys they were.

yea, no kidding but in all fairness to both of them...they were throwing the ball to receivers NOT named Hill, Waddle and Beckham.

The field conditions due to the heavy rain and drizzle during the game.. makes it difficult to evaluate whT went down.. all i know is that it was a very sloppy played game.. even bokamper was relieved the game was over.. it was a long game with a lot of missed assignments, injuries, and players slipping around..

We seriously need a better option behind Tua.. we need to see what is available after the cuts because Mike White and Thompson are lucky to step in a NFL locker room..

There was no drizzle during the game

    Field was bad

Was not a sloppy game relative to being the first preseason game with backups

    Defense plays well and hard

    Rookies stood out

What scares me is why can't other WR get open? I mean I watch other games and their backup WR's are open. Are our plays someone easy to defend unless you can run 25 miles an hour?

I'm a big White fan, but he just seems happy to be there. I don't see any fight in him. I think he is better then Skylar, but neither of them looked good.

I would not be upset if they signed Zappe if he gets cut by New England.

The backup WR's. That was kinda my point, the super fast guys can get open, but the slower backups were covered tightly. Hard to judge backup QB's for us when no one is open for them.
