With the Lions win last night we are now the worst NFL franchise in the last 23 years.

The lions nailed it with their choice at coach while we let that coach walk and hire Adam Gase, the offensive genius.

They’ve also been much better at drafting than Miami. Grier can’t hit on draft picks so he trades first rounders for players with expensive contracts that are going to put us in salary cap hell. The best teams have a good combo of the right veterans and cheap rookie contracts. All 4 of Detroits All Pros were drafted by them and 2 of them were in 2nd/4th rounds.

I think I’ve said it enough but all of our problem begins with Chris Grier having say in things.

I was one of the few who lobbied hard and who were mocked and joked on about wanting Campbell to be our head coach.

Good to see him lead his team.

He wants to win, paid for stadium and opens the wallet for players when needed. We could do a lot worse then that. He’s been quite unlucky I‘ll give you that.

The Dolphins actually have the 18th best record in the league over the last 18 years. Mediocre, no question. Worst is absurdly over the top. In fact, we have a slightly better record than Buffalo does in that span. Better than the Rams, Giants, Buccaneers and Bengals. And just one fewer win than the 49ers.

What we don't have are the occasional elite, special seasons. That's partially the team's own fault, and partially due to the absurd 20 year run from New England that's now over.

He has no idea who to hire, he listens to all the wrong people, and he does incredibly stupid **** that costs us picks. He threw flores under the bus and seems to have a love affair with Grier who should have been fired a long time ago.

The man is a complete football idiot who thinks he can buy, lie and cheat his way to winning.

We've been mediocre which is more painful than being bad. Bad at least gets you a crack at the top pick. Bad gets you an Andrew Luck or a Joe Burrow. Two races that we led at the time that they were occuring. We haven't been bad enough to get a top pick aside from Jake Long. When we have had a top five pick, we've drafted the wrong guy dating back as far as I can remember.

The combination of mediocrity, bad drafts, and awful free agent additions have repeatedly been our downfall.

We've simply made bad roster decisions time and time again. Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Andrew Luck, Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert all had a shot at being the quarterback of this team had we just either selected them or signed them when the opportunities were there, or kot won meaningless games during a lost season. Instead we chose the likes of Tedd Ginn, or winning meaningless games in the name of pride, or simply overthinking a decision that ended up crippling the franchise such as Daunte Cullpepper. As good as Jake Long was, the pick should have been Matt Ryan.

I dont believe that if we'd have given him the job then that he would have survived and thrived as our HC then. Far too many other issues especially with GM at the time. I think Campbell needed that extra few years with Payton especially to learn the HC piece alot more. I think that he certainly showed the leadership qualities, but the rest of it just wasn't there yet. He's grown into the role well though, and his pairing with Holmes has done great things for the personnel side too. They've built a nice team. If we had a better GM I often wonder how much better off we would be at this point with McDaniel.

There’s a lot of teams that haven’t won a Super Bowl in the last 23 years, so “worst” has company. A huge reason the Dolphins (and the Jets and Bills) haven’t won one is the fact that we had the misfortune of being in the same division as the team with the longest sustained dynasty in NFL history.

That being said, it’s still frustrating as hell.

Yeah, every other team who started their rebuild around the same time we did have at least gotten a playoff win by now, while we are still searching for our first one in 23 years. I don't want to hear anyone talk about learning and needing more time anymore. Grier has got to go and he can take Tua with him.

I’m in West Chester, but most of my wife’s family is in the city. I absolutely hate the fans here, and will not root for any of their teams. Last year, when the Eagles, Phillies and Union all lost in the finals, was fun for me, lol.

Oh yeah, and the Eagles signed Michael Vick, the POS dog killer, so eff them for eternity.

What a lot of people did not understand is sometimes you have to stick through the rough times to get to the other side.

He had the potential to be a great head coach, mostly everyone couldn’t see the light, they just said he’s a tough guy meat head without the brains.

Let’s hope they win the whole thing

It was funny how the mood here changed as the season went on, wasn’t it? When they were 10-1 it seemed like everyone was just waiting for the playoffs, then they hit the slope and the jerseys, hats, etc. all disappeared and they turned on the team, especially Sirianni.

You said it early in the season and it proved to be correct. Definitely not the only problem, as the defense had its own issues, but the offense let the team down at least as much as the D despite the defense getting most of the blame.

Well, they're tied with several other teams. The Oilers/Titans and Chargers came into being in 1960, the same year as Buffalo in the AFL, and none of won a Super Bowl. The Vikings came into being a year later, and they've never won a championship.

The Browns won the NFL title in 1964, before the SB existed. The Lions last won a NFL title in 1957, and the Cardinals last won in 1947.

So as far as the SB era goes, those guys are all on the same level. The Falcons were started in 1966 (same as Miami) and the Bengals came into being in 1968 and have never won one, so they're next up.
