The people who have been misrepresenting our position for the last couple years aren't going to change course now.
Remember all those people who have been calling us out, demanding apologies? If I were to demand apologies from them, would that be considered gloating?
Can't wait for an offseason talking about how Tua is a great long term option because of regular season passer rating and yard totals. We are so close. This isn't his fault. McDaniel is the problem. We need a new coach to unlock Tua's true potential.
To all the Tua stans talking nonsense all season during the mirage, eat rocks. This is the reality of who Tua is.
It's not going to happen, but I wouldn't even sign Tua to the option next year. Why pretend? Why finish middling and draft in the back? Draft a high ceiling type and pray you hit the lottery.
There’s the guy who wants to think he’s a MVP but doesn’t make a play at a key time in a key game. Like Walsh said, I’d rather have a team of super bowlers than pro bowlers
It’s a 49ers / Ravens superbowl and it isn’t even close. Those two were in the superbowl against each other not that long ago. It’s like leadership makes a difference or something.
Tua isn't going anywhere any time soon so a lot of you guys will be miserable for a long time. Might be time to find another team. Some of us will support our QB and root for him as long as he's here. See you guys on draft day. I'll be rooting for Houston from here on out.
Well anyone who wants Miami to win a Super Bowl will be miserable because he sh**s the bed against good teams
For me.. it's about the team. Not the player. So... you enjoy feeling like this after games like this. Enjoy feeling like a loser. I'd rather see us build a team capable of beating a team over .500 with a QB that shows up in big games.
Well.. total end-season collapse, like previous Dolphins teams. In that sense, no improvement. The issue isn't talent either. What the defense did against Buffalo, and even KC, shows you how you can play well enough to win despite adversity. Problem is McD and Tua at least right now don't have that killer's instinct. Tua especially is mentally weak under stress. It's harder to fix than the issues last year — demonstrating you can play at a high level after teams have a season of tape, and of course Tua's health issues, both of which were fixed — but it falls on McD to find a way to get this team to play well against good teams and in high stress situations. We'll see if they can do it next year. If they fail like this next year though, then it's time to think of getting different leadership. Oh, and McD needs to really evaluate his play calling. Statistical analysis would really help there, identifying which situations (e.g., short yardage pass plays, or overuse of screens) he's batting below average. On to the offseason! .. ouch.
my wife, ...having watched football ONLY this season, came to me last week and told me "tua doesn't have the dog in him" "He doesn't show up when it gets hard" ****ing Hard hearing those words from a fan of less than a year. 39 years later..the dolphins managed to disappoint me again. ****s rough man. I'm still going to root for him, and even bought a signed tua helmet this season...but gaaaaaaaaaaaah my heart hurts. again. and again. and again.
Yup.. the mental fortitude necessary to win when it counts is much harder to teach. Not impossible, but harder to fix than what we faced last year. We'll see whether McD is up to it. It's on him to change the culture and get Tua to have the right mental approach to big games.
Well Flo said Tua was soft and that’s what we’ve seen in 6 out of 7 games against playoff caliber teams. I think McDaniel has built a system to cover up his weaknesses but good defenses have figured out how to stop that, which is why he’s a no show in important games.
