Are they even going to be able to field a team at this point?

With all the other nagging injuries I'll be surprised if they can even finish the game.

Going to have to elevate a lot of practice squad players or sign guys off the couch at this rate.

Howard is out too, as I predicted.

So the whole depth at OLB and edge rusher is Ogbah and Ingram. Everyone else is done for the year.

Fangio is going to need to get creative, maybe he lines up Wilkins and Sieler at end with Hand and Davis as the DT's? Even then, I think we only have 4 linemen, they are going to need to elevate or sign people this week.

What an end to a very promising season.. we got some massive holes to fill in Chubb and Phillips who will both likely miss the 2024 season… and although we thought we addressed the secondary with Ramsey.. with Xaviens future in the air we may need to fill that hole too…

It was said in the other thread, but at some point Miami strength and conditioning coaches and personnel have to be held accountable. It's been too many seasons with too many injuries to just be bad luck. It's a violent game and injuries happen, I know, but they happen too often and frequently to this team for too many seasons in a row.

The number of the injuries that are non contact is concerning.

They won't miss the whole season, but certainly a chunk of it. AVG sounds like a short term injury, it will be a priority to get him under contract. I assume we will have some FA vets man the other side until our guys are back.

For the upcoming game, we almost have to sign some street guys. Bruce Irvin got cut by Detroit the other week, JPP is floating around, Frank Clark, etc.

Hell, maybe just see what Tindall can do there. :death:

If we have any hope this game, the offense has to come ready to play. But dang, to say this will be an uphill battle is a major short sell.

Xavien Howard can get cut this offseason for all I care. Cant stay on the field and he's lost at least a step. CBs go quick. Will need to add a vet or two in FA.

it was bad all season already…. Playoffs will be even worse.

Agree with the guy in the other thread that Fins need to review every single coach/doctor/trainer/therapist that is associated with player wellness and strength and conditioning.

It's a direct consequence of our GM's propensity to aquire players with significant injury histories. Has not much to do with strength and conditioning. We are always blaming everyone but the GM who is the man in charge.

These aren't muscle strains, tears or pulled hamstrings. How exactly can you train out a blown-out ACL? Or someone falling/stepping on your foot? Or a sprained ankle? I could understand if these are soft tissue issues but these are surgical repairs that are needed. Not too sure how conditioning or strength is solving that. Maybe one of the posters who keeps saying this can explain it.

Jerome Baker never even missed a game before this year and he will probably be on your injury prone list now

He is the exception, not the rule, and it was a freak play he is lucky it wasn't worse than that. Another player could have blown his ACL on that play. He did not have a major injury despite the freak hit so he is not injury prone in my estimation.

Most of the players injured this year already had significant injury histories going into the season. I already listed them all before, look it up.

Again, a strawman. I listed dabout 7 or 8 guys, which did not include Baker, and you try to strawman argue about Ramsey.

X has a foot injury. I can't ever remember him having a foot injury. Baker has a wrist injury, can't ever remember him having a wrist injury. Chubb had a left knee injury before. It was his right knee that got hurt. Van Ginkle hurt his foot. No history. Mostart fractured his thumb. No history of hand issues. Waddle sprained his ankle. Armstead has a history of everything hurting. That should have been a red flag but when he plays he's a beast.

So why list players who aren't injury prone is a list of injury prone players?

You guys are nit picking. Grier has overlooked players with significant injury histories like Armstead(never played a full NFL season), Phillips who retired from college briefly due to injury history), Tua(who defied multiple years of injuries), Chubb whose missed significant time in several years in the NFL.

No the GM isn't responsible for players getting hurt. Its fine when you talk about the Armsteads of the world but unless it spreads like its covid he can't be blamed for durable players too.

The GM is responsible for all the players on this roster. The foundation of this team is built on players who can’t stay healthy. These players don’t show up against good opponents. He’s the only constant with this organization over recent history. He got lucky and landed the equivalent of the Hershel Walker trade. He’s built a team that’s barely capable of making the playoffs. He’s absolutely to blame.

It’s remarkable that the same guy who was being praised for putting together a team that was dropping 70 points on the Broncos earlier in the season is now the villain when more than half the starting lineup is out with injuries.
