Good *** win. I personally don't care what the doubters think anymore. Their only rebuttal can be that we had to kick field goals to win and that a better quarterback would have thrown nine touchdowns blind folded blah blah blah. Good win! My heartbeat has finally returned to it's normal state.

Fat chance you’ll get many apologies, much less loud ones. Some of those posters are actively rooting for Tua and the Dolphins to fail. Very happy we made them very sad today. They were probably hoping Tua doesn’t convert on that last drive right up until he did lol.

No reason to respect them, at least not on a Dolphins board.

I def could be. About 3 or 4 weeks ago i was calling to use a midround pick on someone cuz i was so done with sanders and his inconsistency.

What a great game from him. 5 FGs is one thing, but 3 in a row from 50+? Im both surprised and impressed. A franchise records too. Good job Jason. Glad to see it. I hope this is s turning point for him and his confidence. I dont need him to be the best kicker in the league, just be reliable and consistent. But this week was one of the best for any kicker in the league!

The Sanders field goals were so big for us. I knew he still had it in him. I bet that last kick was the hardest one for him to make. What a pro that guy is. He was a stone-cold killer today for us. Kickers don't get the love they deserve. You've got to have nerves of steel to do that job.

I was one of his biggest critics. I thought he was going to be a liability in big games down the stretch but I'll happily eat crow and admit I was wrong. Good for him and great for the team's confidence heading into the playoffs!

Yeah I was completely wrong on Sanders. It looked like he just didn't have it anymore these last two seasons, but he has shut me up and made everything better again. I remember about 4 years ago when he was out best offensive player on the roster haha.

Good game by Tua, we finally beat a Team with a winning record, and we are in the playoffs, can't complain. I had us losing this game so I'll admit I was wrong. It was close and we probably would have lost if they had not fumbled at the goaline, but we got it done.

This still doesn't change my overall opinion though, these two teams are at about the same level, and Dak and Tua are about the same level of QB. Good but not great.

lol.. just admit you were completely wrong about Tua for once. Like wrong about almost everything! And Tua IS elite over the last 2 years — this garbage about "good but not great" is totally unwarranted after what Tua has done the last 2 years. But that's what we should expect from someone who discounts the actual performance of a QB and cares more about physical traits irrespective of performance, which is as crazy as it gets. It's like saying a team is great even if it keeps putting up mediocre W/L records, or saying a team is mediocre even if it wins almost all its games. Performance is what matters, not traits like "arm strength" that you keep harping on.

Anyway you've been completely discredited on Tua.

I doubt he's going in the right direction. He's been adamant Tua is no better than Mac Jones even recently. You think someone as stubborn as hitman is going to change his mind after one win against the Cowboys? Remember, his main argument Tua is no better than Mac Jones is college performance, which haven't changed.

And Tua > Dak. Cowboys are likely never winning the SB because they got Dak wrong. That's a sentiment shared by so many Cowboys fans, including the ones I was with yesterday during the game (in Dallas right now).

While all that is true, Dak is a legit top 10 QB and much better than Macorkle. So at least his comparisons are moving in the right direction.

He’s still wrong though, Tua is going to be if he is not already an elite QB. He just keeps improving and as McDaniel said the other day in a press conference not only does he get better but he gets better quickly at the things he works on.

Yeah the "elite" QBs of the new generation are Mahomes, Burrow, Tua and possibly Purdy if he can keep this up (let's see him do it another year though). Great to be able to say something like that. Last time was with Marino. Have to win the SB though. Putting up elite stats with no SB is not acceptable.

So we're playing what ifs? How about what if McDaniel took the 3 points earlier in the game we're ahead two scores late in the 4th instead of one score? How about what if a bs roughing the QB on Wilkins doesn't get called and Dallas is punting out of their own end zone? A lot of what ifs could have made this a much more lopsided final score. We just beat the NFC's #2 seed in a thrilling come from behind fashion. Tua came through when the game was on the line. What happens in December defines us. Week 4 in Buffalo means nothing. Losses to Philly and KC mean nothing. The only thing that matters is what's happening now right in front of us.

The BS roughing call on Wilkins was inconsequential, they were backed up anyway and the drive fissled out. The BS roughing call on Parsons however was consequential as it resulted in our only touchdown.

We had a lot of things break our way to win this game, it could have gone either way.

I'm not rooting against Tua cb, I have nothing against him, always thought he is good and very likable, I just think he is more of a system QB who needs great weapons around him to be successful.

I just don’t think that will be enough when things get tough in the playoffs and against the better teams, your QB is sometimes going to have to take over and make plays on his own to show he is truly great.

That's why I think San Fran will ultimately fall short also.

  29. Springveldt

I actually don’t think the roughing call was BS. He didn’t even attempt a tackle, it was a forearm smash into the back of the QB right at the limit of his 2 steps. I’m guessing he was frustrated at not being able to get to the QB and took his chance to put as hard a hit as possible on Tua.

Could've fooled me. You post with glee when Tua fails in some way or another, but rarely post when Tua does something really good (a meek "he played well" might come out, but not much more).

Bigger question is what, if anything, would ever get you the point where you accept you were nearly completely wrong about Tua. You've asked Tua to perform well in all kinds of situations: without a good OL, without Hill, in the cold away from home, "carry" the team when others aren't playing well, play a full season without injury, against a top pass defense, against a team with a winning record, etc.

Each time Tua proves you wrong it doesn't change your views of him in any important way. You just keep moving goalposts again. If he wins a playoff game you'll move the goalposts again. Rinse and repeat. Just admit you're wrong already.

It's still too early to declare him a great franchise QB IMO. And I'm not moving goalposts, elite stats were never my goalposts, those were yours not mine.

You’ve moved goalposts more than anyone. Every one of the ones I listed is something you said he had to demonstrate, and he did. Yet no major change in opinion. It’s the exact opposite of evidence based reasoning.

Clearly he's not a Dolphins fan. I'm at a loss at this point as to why he's even on this forum. All he's done for the last three years is crap on Tua and personally attack anyone that supports Tua. It's why he's been on my ignore list for the last two years. The last thing he said to me after the Titans loss a couple seasons ago when Flores was still here was "Go dance pantless in front of your Tua poster." After that I was done even trying to talk football or anything with him.

I don’t know what your goalposts are but let me try using this measuring stick.

Year 2 of Tua, first year starter.
    Miami 9-8, missed the playoffs

    Year 3; McDaniel’s 1st year
Miami 9-8; #7 seed playoffs…with help from other teams’ losses.

    Year 4
Dolphins secure playoff berth week 16, currently #2 seed, vying for division title and #1 seed.

If you ask me, using THIS measuring stick, the Dolphins and Tua are only getting better and better.

Last season, we needed to win our last game AND needed help to make the playoffs. This season, we’re already IN the playoffs…and vying for the #1 seed.

If you looked at this on a simple line or bar graph, you can’t argue with it.
