Want to know how tough Andrew Van Ginkel is? He broke his nose Sunday, but shoved gauze up his nostrils and kept on playing. “That’s not for everybody,” McDaniel said. “Two gauzes. So there the information flows on like a need-to-know basis during the game. And generally, you would find out as a head coach that someone had a broken nose, but with Andrew Van Ginkel, I think it speaks to the, the prerequisite toughness and kind of the the guy he is, because he was just like, ‘All right, gauze it up and let’s go.’ I never knew about it until I saw his face.”
I broke my nose in the 6th grade. It's been 50 years and I still remember how bad it felt. I'm surprised he didn't get a concussion along with the injury.
In that photo, his nose looks straight. Are we sure it's broken? I'm not a doctor, mind you, I just play one on the internet. LOL
so funny, I remember being about 6 and trying to do a flip. My knee hit my nose and I still remember that pain.
I smashed the knuckle on my little finger playing in the British American Football League. I just taped my fingers together and carried on. I didn't know how bad the injury was until after the game and I peeled my glove off to reveal a dark purple digit, the thickness of my thumb. I went to A&E and had an X-ray and as I was sat in the waiting room (it was now 2am and I was the only one there) I heard two staff discussing my X-rays and one said "Eughh, I've never seen anything like that before".
