You view everything in a vacuum. It's not the loss that I'm saying was bad...it was the manner in which they lost. Up two scores with 4 minutes to go.

It's bad dude. Didn't give me hope for the playoffs.

You're acting like some are practically saying they're happy with that loss.
NO ONE is blind to the fact it wasn't pretty. Again, if some choose to try and put it behind us and get ready for the Jets, that somehow annoys you. Don't take it personal.

You're the one viewing this in a vacuum. I'm saying it's just an anomaly that doesn't mean much.

But so be it. Don't have hope for the playoffs because of one terrible loss, disregarding all the other good things we did prior to that. Let's see who is right at the end. I predict we'll make the playoffs, be division winners and win at least one playoff game. You're predicting a collapse from here on out it looks like, based on your last sentence. We'll see who is right.

Why do you always have to play the martyr?

As Dolphins fans we're conditioned to expect the axe to fall, I get it. But it shouldn't bother you if some rather see it as a one off instead of just giving up and losing hope. It's all about personal perspective.

Comes down to OL heath IMO. Cannot have as many missing as there were at the end of the Titans game, only one easy game left. That said, win out, and they still have the bye no matter what anyone else does. Crazy time. Should be fun.

I think it's more than just player health. The mentality of this team needs to change. The Titans game is maybe the first time this feeling of "we can coast" cost us, but we've seen it before in previous games we ended up winning. That falls on the coach. Also, McD needs to get better with play calling. He finally decided to run it a few times on short yardage situations after some costly failures early on, but way too many times he gets cute and calls a pass that doesn't work out. This team is explosive, but you shouldn't try to be explosive on short yardage high percentage plays.

It's actually good McD is fairly young. I have more confidence he'll learn from this kind of loss than if it were a guy who is set in his ways.

But for fans your last few sentences are right on the mark. I haven't been this optimistic about our playoff chances in a long time. Definitely should be fun (though clearly it isn't for some posters).

I'm not 15. I don't get too excited about the regular season. I've seen plenty of Dolphins teams win regular season games. I'm interested in playoff wins.

That game was winnable with slightly more focus for sure. Chubb takes 3 big steps before taking his helmet off and the Dolphins win. I think Dallas, Baltimore, and Buffalo would be tough wins with the talent that was on the field at the end of the Titans game. Doable with a better game plan; thinking about it, I think I was wrong with the post you responded to. It would be more accurate to say that if they continue to get as many in game injuries to key positions they cannot win the last 3. They cannot change a game plan to cover that much OL change, with a loss of a player like Hill and beat Dallas, Baltimore, and Buffalo. It's be hard even without losing Hill.

I think Tua mitigates pass rush like no other when he has the game plan to do it. He can have the ball out accurately to anywhere on the field from 50 yards deep in slightly over 2 seconds. But, that doesn't matter if there is no one open in under 2.5 seconds, and the pass rush is getting there then.

I hate the fade to Hill.

This is where an above average TE is worth their weight in gold, and this team doesn’t value the position. I thought Claypool was acquired for that role, but he doesn’t see the field much.

PS. I’d also like to see Brooks get those short yardage carries, as he’s a powerful back (and I think is our future at RB alongside Achane), but he can’t do much from IR.

I don't care if they view it that way. I just don't agree that it's a valid argument when someone says it's a bad loss.

I've tried to explain, often my posts are criticizing an argument being used, not their overall point.

You can have the correct conclusion, but have incorrect arguments.

Why cant we grab the bull by the horns for once and take care of business down the stretch? Not going to be easy but then again it's not supposed to be easy.

How did the end of the season play out? Didn't beat a team in a big spot again and will get destroyed on the road next week.

Oh I'm sorry. I guess I should have gave up a month ago. Tell ya what, next year is going to be worse and we won't make the playoffs. Now put that one in your back pocket and save it for just the right time.

You're right. Dolphins fail to make playoffs next year and McDaniel is fired. It's the cycle.
