    What? They weren't remotely even.

Mahomes had a 105.56 passer rating
Tua had a 87.01 passer rating

    MASSIVE GAP

That doesn't even count the game ending snap that Tua couldn't catch, OR the 24 rushings yard vs Tua's 7.

Not sure what you are trying to say here. Jaguars have beaten multiple winning teams (Saints & Steelers). Ravens look very legit, as they have destroyed winning teams. KC has looked shaky at times but still show up and beat winning teams.

Buffalo doesn't look like a contender & Dolphins look like a paper tiger.

The Saints have the 2nd best pass defense and the Steelers 9th (passer rating against). The Dolphins have YET to play a passing defense as good as either of them.

I'm happy with our coach and I can live with our QB. But unlike some people here, I think our defensive line and LBs need upgrading. Like to see them both addressed in the draft.

    That’s a very valid point. If they’ve only won against 1 or 2 .500 teams…

    Tua threw for 175 yards
    Mahomes threw for 174 yards

    Miami rushed for 117 yards
    KC rushed for 93 yards

Miami was 25% on 3rd down
KC was 30% on 3rd down

Miami and KC both averaged 5 yards per play with the Dolphins getting the edge on the decimal point.

You point to passer rating. *rolls eyes*. You do realize that had Tua thrown for the TD instead of letting Moestert run it in, Tua would have had an equal passer rating.

Speaking of the thread topic "we don't have a bigtime coach", one team that definitely does NOT have a bigtime coach is NE. Without Brady it's just getting worse and worse. They're now 2-7, but here's a more interesting development: Bill Belichick is now only 8 losses away from having the record for most losses ever by a HC overall and in the regular season. He needs to get to 166 losses for the regular season to beat out Reeves and Fisher, and 179 losses overall to beat Landry. He's 8 away from both. He might break that record this year LOLOL.

He's still 17 wins away from breaking Shula's total wins record. So realistically he'll need to coach into 2025 to get that. Race against time.

Back to talking about McDaniel and Tua lol..

If Tua threw that TD to Mostert, that adds a TD and 13 yards passing with one extra attempt, which would have given him a 98 rating. Tua wasn't bad today, but he wasn't "clutch". He's demonstrated he can be clutch in the past — in some spectacular ways I might add, like that Ravens game last year — so I'm not worried. But Tua was not statistically as good as Mahomes today.

Regardless, he's likely to still be #1 in passer rating after this week, which really says something about last year not being a fluke.

Or he could have thrown a pick. Or he could have fumbled the ball. If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. What if they called Jeff Wilson for the clear offensive PI on the TD? Let's not play what ifs. Stats are stats, and Tua had a much worse passer rating and choked the game away at the end.

Except for the passer rating differential.. which happens to incorporate the primary reason KC won. So yes, the two teams were statistically similar in many respects except for a massive difference in QB efficiency. But even then, if they don't call that Hill fumble TD return — and I'm not convinced that was the right call – then it's still an even game on the scoreboard. All things considered we did well, just fell short. We'll rectify that later in the season and prove the naysayers wrong.

I mean the defense held the Chiefs to 14 points. The Chiefs average coming into the game was 23.4. The defense did their job well.

The Dolphins average coming in was 33.9, and they were held to 14 points. This is a big time failure on the offense, and the most important person on the offense, Tua, who also choked the comeback on the last drive. Their defensive opponents are only going to be tougher moving forward. Jets (2x), Ravens, Cowboys, and Bills. The scheme can only do so much. Tua doing a good job staying healthy though. He's just not taking hits.

Something the moaning and *****ing crowd should ponder, after the 1st scripted drive, KC scored 1 time.

The team is learning how to win. I know they didn’t win but everything that was really important that I learned was from losing something, sometime, some experience.

I can’t stand that they have lost against the best teams. But I see the defense where they should start to be where we thought they would be and the offense just needs to figure the hard stuff out.

I’m keeping the faith. It’s on a shoestring. But if your don’t believe in your team then what’s the point?

Dude, I heard that same crap when Wannstedt was the coach and Fiedler was the QB. I had people tell me they were keeping the faith when AJ Feeley and John Beck were the QBs. I don't have faith in football teams. I'm a freaking football agnostic. I'm from football Missouri--show me.

That would be a huge reach to take from anything I said. Read it again, do better.
I said people have been saying we should have faith since Wanny and Fiedler and AJ Feeley and John Beck and that doesn't cut it anymore.

I disagree with the OP about the entire title of this topic. With that said, it is concerning that we keep coming up short against the elite of this league. We need these games though. We need to play good teams. The only thing worse than missing the playoffs is making the playoffs as a counterfeit team. Every year there's a couple of them that squeeze into the postseason via a soft *** schedule. Last year it was the Giants, this year it could be Pittsburgh, or Atlanta. I don't want to be one of those teams.
It sucks to lose today, but I'm not exactly mad about it. We've at least proven that we can hang with the big boys, we just can't beat em yet. It'll happen if we just stick with this.

Go watch college football or something where it might be more of a sure thing.

    One thing that is clear?
We are getting closer to a statement win. Each crack at one of these teams, wevr bridged the gap.
I think we win 2 of that 3 game stretch vs DAL BAL BUF to end the year.

The teams that they lost to, played the big games, lost the big games, won the big games. Every game Miami plays against these teams will be beneficial to them in learning what it takes to win these games.

Your logical fallacy is the points against other teams dont count. Do the chiefs and bills get a mulligan when they only score 15 points vs the broncos or pats? Is it actually better they lost so they aren’t overrated by “fake” wins? Cmon.

Have to be happy with the way our defense played today. 14 points is somewhere around 10 below their season average. Biggest thing I saw this game and really against Buf and Philly is our OL gets exposed. Well, Philly mainly because of injuries.
