they are getting the blocks, but the backs continue to run around the block instead of behind it. Finally in the second half they started running behind the blocks and getting big yards
That snap was 100% on Tua. It was catchable. Tua just folded when it mattered. Terrible drive from him. Just pathetic.
Time to root harder for the Bengals tonight, the division is still in play, but no way Miami wins a playoff game on the road against the better AFC teams. We might get a win at home as a division winner, depends on the match up.
I agree. If he has perfect protection he is great When we play teams that can rush the passer his skill set will not allow him to be great.Average mobilty and weak arm.Unfourntaly all u see in playoffs is good defences. With good.pass rushers.U can't beat good teams with these weapons then u never will
No theyre not. thats why they're getting blown up either behind the LOS or at the LOS. They're not getting out quick enough and they're not being aggressive enough, rather than attacking the defenders theyre waiting for contact instead of initiating IMO. Watch us run it, and watch otehrs run it. Problem with this team is it lacks a consistent offense without big plays. The OL is banged up, Achane is still out and we've struggled on O without him and without the guys on the OL. But if we can't figure out how to have a consistent O without big chunk plays we're doomed. KC can beat you in many ways on O, we're kind of a one trick pony at this point. Big passing plays at the core are common, a few good runs here and there, other than that... it's dead. Take away the big plays and we're toast. That's a problem.
try watching the plays. The guy has the defender blocked, the back keeps trying to go around the block. If he cuts behind the block the gets positive yards.
Try reading what I wrote about the blocking. They should be engaged and pushing downfield, they need to attack the defenders rather than sitting back and watiing. That's why the ball carrier runs into the blockers, they're not creating the space they're supposed to
The rats are back for some cheese lol. Great second half by the defense. McDaniel again with some questionable play calling. That Ahmed run play was just a disaster in that spot. Go Bengals. Enjoy the bye week.
No. It's high and outside to his right. It's not 100% on Tua, no chance in hell. Watch the replay from behind the formation. To his right, and up over his shoulder. He gets his hands on it and sure, you can say he should have had it. But that's not 100% on him, it's a ****ing terrible snap. It's on the C and the QB. Certainly not 100% on the QB
I 100% believe if it’s any other quarter, Tua catches that snap. He was not in control that last drive at all.
Maybe to you, but not to a team. They just went to Germany, and if not for a bogus call on an alleged "fumble" we had a chance to win the game, and in the reality of the situation tie it. If you don't think the staff is going to hammer that into the players to show them they're heading in the right direction, you're wrong. It means far more than you think IMO. Of course they shouldn't be happy about losing and they won't be. But you better believe the staff will be hammering home the points on those moral victories to assume things are in the right direction, but then they'lll use the missed opportunities as building blocks for the future. So, sure it may mean anything to you as a fan, but that's not really important.
If this boards moral victories actually counted we'd win the superbowl every year. We are in win now mode and can't win against even the good teams.
If it's any other quarter he catches that snap... And that's my cue to leave for the afternoon. Enjoy the rest of your sunday folks.
Eichenberg should be moved to center. Connor Williams has been a problem with bad snaps a few too many times this season.
First of all, you're not on the team. Second of all, I guarantee you had all three of their road losses as an "L" on your little schedule in August. They got blown out in the first against the AFC East beasts for the last few years. They lost a questionable one to the defending NFC Champion and took the reigning Super Bowl champions down to the wire. Stop crying.
What some people fail to realise is that teams like Buffalo, Philly, KC etc are 1, 2, maybe 3 years ahead of us. These teams have the big game experience and big game mentality locked in, because they've been there and done it. We've only just arrived on the scene and are at least another year of building away from a Super Bowl appearance.
Yeah today's reffing was typical for home teams. Only game thus far where I'd accept reffing as an excuse is the Philly game. You have to be good enough to overcome home team bias with the refs. Having said that, this idea that we can't beat good/great teams is only true thus far. It's far more important how you end than how you begin, and I'd wait to pass judgment on that until we play some tough teams at the end of the season — we play the Bills in Miami. That will be a very different game.
I posted this in Club and thought it would be good to post it here, too: If the defensive rankings stay the same, by seasons end we would have played the 2nd (KC), 3rd x 4 (Buffalo x 2, Eagles, and Cowboys are all tied at 3rd), and 1st (Ravens) ranked defenses in the NFL. Not to mention the Jets being ranked 8th. That's nearly 50% (8) of our games against top 10 defenses, with 6 of those games being against top 5. In comparison, the Bills play only 5 games against top 10 defenses... Jets x2 (8th), Jags (10th), Chiefs (2nd), and Cowboys (3rd). That's a brutal schedule for Miami and just our damn luck.
I am very excited about the defense if they stay healthy. They shut Mahomes down for the most part, he only really completed his dinks and dunks. Barely anything thrown to the boundaries. Kelce had 14 yards.
To me it looked like Tua was expecting Wilson to comeback, noticed at the last second he wasn't, tried to adjust and let it go and it led to an awful looking pass. Miss communication. Which sucks. (Not at you) Anyone calling that a choke has never played football and has no idea what they are even watching.
This was confirmed by coach and quarterback after the game. There was a reason why Wilson never sees the field the past two seasons. Bad communication at the worst time.
If you offered me yesterday that we held Kelce to 14 yards and the Chiefs to 21 points then I'd have taken it. The offense just couldn't get it done. Slow starts against the Eagles and Chiefs ... there is just no excuse. McDaniels needs to get that fixed asap because we just cannot afford these iffy offensive starts against good teams. We have lost to three good teams on the road. That's not a crime, but it isn't good, especially when you don't have a signature win. Losing this game just narrows the margin for us. We have to beat Buffalo at home. We have to beat Dallas at home. We have to at least split, but preferably sweep the Jests (not easy with that defense). We all but have to beat the Ravens, on the road in December. We cannot afford a let down loss against trash like Vegas, Washington or the Titans. This game was there for the taking and the gameplan, again, didn't work at all. McDaniels has to be better. The offense has to be better. It's our strength, and they need to act like it. The season is far from over, but the concern is now real, absolutely. We probably just put home field advantage out of reach. Focus on securing the division and getting at least two home games.
Except we haven't played the Cowboys, Ravens, Jets, or Bills x 1. Which means only 1 game for the Bills, KC, and Eagles count towards their defensive totals. I think you should rethink your post because it doesn't make any sense.
You know exactly what I'm saying. Also your list was extrapolating for the entire season. So don't play this BS game
Wilson has had some really good plays and TD's over the last few weeks. Miscommunication happens between receiver and QB all the time.
You extrapolated the entire season to try to make this seem better. I pointed out that those stats are gotten by beating us and teams like us. Then you want to only look at actual games played when I disagree with you. It's disingenuous
Ok but that's life. Like, who do you think we will play in the playoffs? It's good to elite defense all the way to the SB. Like, it could be a wild card against Buffalo, then round 2 against Cinci and then a KC rematch. None of them are defensively weak. Or a wild card against Cleveland, then the Ravens, then KC. Again, our season is far from over. But the concern is there - we have not only not won against that elite team, but we have been handled.
