The Miami Dolphins (5-2) and New England Patriots (2-5) will play their second matchup of the season on Sunday in an AFC East battle. The Dolphins are favorites to defeat the Patriots, according to the BetMGM NFL odds. Spread: Dolphins (-9.5) Moneyline: Dolphins (-450); Patriots (+340) Over/under: 47
Gotta take this one. They are flying high after the Buffalo upset, coming into our place. Our guys need to be angry and just be physical. Set the tone early. I didn't really have much in the way of expectation for the Philly game, but this one is huge. 2-1 in the division with Buffalo at 1-2 and needing to come to us later in the season? Gotta have it, and we should, barring any more special teams eff-ups.
The Pats are in for a world of hurt this week. Could be another 70-point outing because I think aqua comes out angry and focused.
No Hill would be devastating. This team cannot go on a losing run like they did last year. Big similarities between this year and last with the injuries beginning to pile up. There is only so much a team can actually sustain.
Silver lining of not having Hill (if he doesn't play) is we'll get to see how well Tua plays without him. I bet it's a lot better than some here think. We'll win without him. Need him back for KC though. Need everyone for KC.
If Waddle wants to prove that he is an elite #1 WR like everyone says, which I am sceptical of, now is the time.
Hill wants 2000 yards. But I'm sure he wants to be 100% for the KC game. I think we'll be fine without him.
I wouldn't call Waddle "elite" unless you're willing to apply that label to the top 15-20 or so. I think that label should be reserved for just the top few, and the only WRs that to me are no question elite are Jefferson and Hill. You can add a few extra if you want, but Waddle isn't on that list. However, Waddle is definitely a 1B WR, top 20 overall in the NFL. He's real good, but not "elite".
Even if Hill misses a game, he's still on track for 2000+ yards. That's how impressive his stats are right now. 902 yards in 7 games is 128.85 yards per game. That times 16 (missing one game in a 17 game season) is 2062 yards! It probably won't play out that way, but it just goes to show you how impressive 902 yards in 7 games is.
I think this game will be a lot closer than some here think, I can't see the Dolphins covering that 9.5 spread. Injuries are starting to mount up, we might see Cotton and Eichenburg in the interior again, it looks like nearly every CB is on the injury report, Holland will definitely be out with the concussion. If Hill can't go I'd love to see Waddle run his routes with all the motion and I wonder if Belicheat will still try and take away the #1 receiver with that 3 safety look or if they will not respect Waddle as much. I think this one ends up being a dogfight and the Dolphins scrape through 27-21.
I agree this New England game is going to be closer than most think. It’s potentially a trap game, with Miami’s next opponent being the Chiefs in Mannheim. Hope they’re focused on the here and now. New England is not built to score quickly, nor has that been Belichick’s MO. Sustained drives and ball discipline in Belichick. The formula to win this particular game is to strike first and fast. The offense needs to COMMIT to the ground game. Moestert should have at least 15 carries and gain 125 yards…and I don’t mean in garbage time either. This should open up play action and allow Miami to strike first, control the clock and force Mac Jones to have to play from behind, where he’s not been very reliable. Miami should win this but won’t cover the spread. 27-23
Please don’t call my home city Mannheim, when it is Frankfurt they play at. I’m still bummed I don’t get to see my Dolphins live in the Eintracht Frankfurt Stadium…
Did you not managed to get a ticket before all the bots got them? I remember going to Wembley back in 2007 for the Dolphins Giants game, my one and only time seeing them live. 6 hour drive there, watched the game then 6 hour drive home. Long day and quite few energy drinks were consumed on the way home but it was worth it.
That would be over 8ypc, a wildly successful day. If they run the ball that well then the game will be a comfortable victory.
The Dolphins added a big name to their injury report on Wednesday. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill missed practice for the first time this season. Hill is listed as having a hip injury. There’s been no word from the team about any impact on Hill’s availability for Sunday’s game against the Patriots, but it was a question that a couple of his teammates fielded. Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle said it was above his pay grade and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa talked about the prospect of playing without Hill. Tagovailoa said no one can emulate Hill but that the team can’t use that as a reason to take a step backward offensively. “If we couldn’t have Tyreek, that would be tough but the show goes on,” Tagovailoa said at his press conference. “You gotta continue to play and somewhere down the line we’re going to get Tyreek back. It has to be one of those things where you don’t let your foot off the gas and you don’t lose that rhythm as a team or as a unit.” The Dolphins also practiced without running back Raheem Mostert (ankle), safety Javon Holland (concussion), fullback Alec Ingold (foot), and guard Robert Jones (personal). Waddle (back), wide receiver River Cracraft (shoulder), cornerback Xavien Howard (groin), cornerback Kader Kohou (neck), defensive back Nik Needham (Achilles), cornerback Jalen Ramsey (knee), cornerback Cam Smith (foot), and center Connor Williams (groin) were limited participants. Thursday’s practice will be the next opportunity to check in on Hill’s status and whether “somewhere down the line” is as ominous a timetable as it sounds.
There were like 3 million people in cue, who tried to get tickets when they did the online sale. I tried to get tickets afterwards, but they cost like 600 Euros upwards for not really good seats and that is a little bit to pricey for what you get at least for me...Been to Joe Robbie years ago but only for pre-season and been to training camp...
Dolphins defensive back Jalen Ramsey returned to practice last week, well ahead of the expected timetable after he underwent knee surgery during the summer. Ramsey was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice as he continues to get re-acclimated. On Thursday, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said Ramsey is doing well. “It’s yet to be determined if he’ll be able to go on Sunday,” Fangio said, via Chris Perkins of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. “He is progressing well, practicing more this week. And we’ll see how that turns out by Sunday.” Fangio noted that if Ramsey is able to play this week, the secondary should improve with Ramsey playing alongside Xavien Howard. “Anytime you add good players to your team, it will change,” Fangio said. “It should be of a benefit — both from their production and what it allows you to do schematically.” If Ramsey’s bumped up to a full participant on Thursday or Friday, that could be an indication that he’s on track to play against New England. The Dolphins have another week before Ramsey must be activated to the 53-man roster.
Yeah the bots got most of them and then the bot owners resell at inflated prices. Complete nightmare trying to get tickets to anything online nowadays.
Im not so sure we win this game. Emotional loss from the eagles and with New England starting to put things together. Bill will have them ready for the offense. We are going to need to play pretty smart and not make dumb offensive penalties and turnovers. Always thought playing them. I expect a close game 27-21 kinda game. Kansas City big on the radar, Im worried we overlook this game.
Receiver Tyreek Hill told reporters after returning to practice on Thursday that he will play on Sunday against the Patriots. “I just wanted some attention because my mom wouldn’t talk to me yesterday, so I needed some attention from somebody,” Hill said, tongue in cheek, via Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald. “I’m good, though.” Hill did not practice on Wednesday with a hip injury. In his second season with Miami, Hill currently leads the league with 902 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns on 53 catches. Hill will either be listed as a limited or full participant on the Dolphins’ practice report, whenever it is released on Thursday.
Someone posted that this is a trap game. I've never seen a trap game after a lose before. I think they bounce back and run it up on the Pats. I was at this deli at lunch today and they had the game with the Bills on and the Pats didn't actually look great AT all. The Bills looked like crapola. If we don't play like crapola then we win this one going away.
LAST MEETING: Dolphins beat Patriots 24-17 in Week 2, in Foxborough. LAST WEEK: Patriots beat Bills 29-25; Dolphins lost to Eagles 31-17. He is looking to have his third straight game with at least six catches and 60 yards receiving. Tagovailoa leads the NFL in passing yards (2,092), yards per attempt (9.1) and passer rating (110.4). KEY MATCHUP: Patriots secondary vs Dolphins receivers. New England's 12th-ranked passing defense held Buffalo's Stefon Diggs to a season-low 58 yards on six catches last week. In Week 2, New England limited Tyreek Hill to 40 yards, which was a season low for him. The Patriots will likely use three deep safeties to take away the Dolphins deep passing game because it worked well in Week 2. But Hill, who is coming off an 88-yard game in which he had a couple of drops, doesn't typically have consecutive so-so performances. KEY INJURIES: Patriots defensive end Keion White remained in the concussion protocol after sitting out last week’s win over Buffalo. … Left tackle Trent Brown is dealing with the ankle/knee injury he sustained during the win over the Bills. He would become the first player since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970 to surpass 1,000 yards receiving in the first eight games of a season. ... RB Raheem Mostert needs 25 yards rushing to reach 3,000 in his career. FANTASY TIP: Tua Tagovailoa's success against the Patriots makes him an enticing choice, even though his second-lowest passing outing this season was against New England in Week 2, in part because the Dolphins ran the ball well. He spread the ball to eight different receivers in that game and completed 70% of his passes.
The Pats won their Super Bowl last week. The Pats notoriously struggle in Miami going back to the Brady days. The NFL screwed the Dolphins last week. This game isn't going to be close.
If this wasn't a division game I would say that this would be a Patriots trap game. They way they acted after beating the Bills was like they won the Superbowl. Even Gronk called them out on it.
For those that didn't hear, Tyreek practiced in full today and will be playing this weekend. X is also playing and it sounds like Ramsey hasn't been completely ruled out.
This, though I hesitate to predict blowouts in divisional rivalries. But everything is pointing to this being what SHOULD happen. The best WR in the NFL since Megatron/Moss isn't in the top 10? To call that a clown opinion is an insult to clowns.
After the way they got hosed by the refs @Eagles, and knowing they drop out of first with a loss, and playing at home- do you REALLY think they won't be focused and instead overlook this game ? If ,IF they lose ( which is unlikely), It definitely won't be because they're not prepared mentally.
Here's an article on it with a number of great rebuttals to him. https://awfulannouncing.com/nfl/brian-burke-tyreek-hill-top-10.html Two of my favorite:
