Dolphins rookie running back De’Von Achane was inactive for Week One. In Week Two, he had one carry for five yards. In two weeks since then, Achane has been the most explosive running back in the NFL, putting up truly shocking numbers.

Achane had 18 carries for 203 yards in Week Three and followed that up with eight carries for 101 yards in Week Four. For the season, Achane has 27 carries for 309 yards, a ridiculous average of 11.44 yards per carry.

That just doesn’t happen; no player in NFL history has ever finished a season with an average of more than 10 yards a carry on more than 25 carries.

Obviously, Achane isn’t going to keep averaging 11.4 yards a carry, but he has already done things that many good running backs don’t do in a whole season: Achane has three different runs of 40 or more yards this year in just 27 carries; last year only six running backs had three 40+ yard runs all season.

Achane, who has four rushing touchdowns and two receiving touchdowns, is proving to be a big-play threat in a way that few running backs can match.

Come on man! He is going to average 10 yards a carry all year long.

In all seriousness, if he can average 6-7 yards per carry for the year, watch out!!!!

Archane really does remind me of Barry Sanders and he could actually be the most explosive back in the league. However, we also need to put this into context that defenses are game-planning for Tua and Hill/Waddle, with stopping our run game pretty low on the priority list. I think most teams would be thrilled if we gave our backs 40 touches a game.

With that said, the Bills did well containing our run game EXCEPT when Archane was on the field. He could be truly special, but we're probably going to have to wait and see where his ceiling is. I think the 8 touches per game is almost perfect for him at the moment, especially if we're winning ballgames through the air.

Barry Sanders was another level. Most amazing player I've seen in NFL history, even though he might or might not make a top 10 all-time among all position players.

He was amazing. He was hard to stop even when he was the only known threat on the team.

This is why I don’t like numbers. Yea he did do very good in week 2 but let’s let the season play out against good teams Denver was ****. He did good when given a chance at buffalo but a game or two doesn’t mean much.

Archane is electric, but he's no Barry Sanders. Let's not get carried away here. Sanders is the GOAT at RB.

Small sample size so far but I think we might have found a good one.

Dolphins rookie RB De'Von Achane sets NFL record for touchdowns in his first four career games
The sixth running back taken in April's draft is already in the record books

    By Bryan DeArdo

To say that De'Von Achane's rookie season has been a successful one would be a massive understatement. During the Dolphins' Week 5 win over the New York Giants, Achane became the first player to score seven touchdowns in his first four career games in the Super Bowl era, according to NFL Research.

Achane made history Sunday on his 76-yard touchdown run. He finished the game with 151 yards on 11 carries and in the process became the first player in league history to rush for 100 yards and average 10 yards per carry in three straight games, via the CBS Sports' research team.

A third-round pick and the sixth running back taken in April's draft, Achane had four total touchdowns against the Broncos in Week 3 and had two more rushing touchdowns in last Sunday's loss in Buffalo.

Making Achane's record even more impressive is the fact that he was inactive in Week 1 and had just two touches in Miami's Week 2 win in New England. Achane's success against the Broncos, however, obviously convinced Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel to increase the rookie's workload moving forward.

The result is an NFL record for Achene and yet another explosive weapon for McDaniel's already lethal offense.

I see a little bit of Barry Sanders and I also see a whole lotta Marshall Faulk. I think 10-12 touches a game is right where he needs to be. There's a time and place to use him and McDaniel seems to have that figured out. If he can stay healthy, he's going to be one hell of a running back. I haven't seen a back as shifty as this guy since Marshall Faulk, Napoleon Kaufman, Brian Westbrook, and Barry Sanders. Those are the players he personally reminds me of. Achane has been turning my head more than any player on this roster so far this season and that's saying something considering the talent we have on offense.

Sure is, whether intentional or not, that’s still a trip.

Clearly intentional and a dirty play. Guess it’s ok when a Dolphins’ opponent does it….

Should have been a penalty - don’t know how they missed the leg whipping around.
