I don‘t know what people saw there. I watched it a couple of times now and I don’t see Tuas hand hitting the helmet and Tua himself said he didn’t hit the helmet with his hand. He was alright yesterday except for the 2 INTs, where especially the 1st one was a really bad throw and decision.

**** like this is embarrassing. Youre getting unquestionably top 5 elite QB play right now. Thats what youre getting and people take his first red zone intervention in 2.5 YEARS and talk about him like he’s a scrub. Some people just have an agenda. It is what it is.

Serious question, do you watch any other games and watch the QB game play?

Tua wasn’t at his best yesterday but he was still statistically better than league average by a decent bit.

I don’t understand why Tua is being held to some sort of standard where if he doesn’t post a 120 passer rating then he was terrible and we will never win anything with him.

The first INT should have never been thrown, but it's a timing play and Tua is sometimes so quick that if the defense doesn't give him what he "thinks" he sees pre-snap this can happen. It's rare though. Before that Redzone INT, Tua hadn't thrown another since Oct 2021. He was 38 TD's with ZERO INT's since then and until the pick-6 yesterday.

The 2nd INT sailed on him because his hand hit Connor's helmet.

WRONG! Tua can't play at a high level without Tyreek and is only average with Tyreek on the field.

His hand hit Connor's helmet. I haven't seen Tua deny that his hand hit Connor, got a link to this video? Because I've watched it numerous times now, once on Travis' Twitter where it's blown up and focused on Tua's hand, and it 100% hit Connor's helmet.

League passer rating is in the high 80's. Tua had over 100 yesterday. He's just so good that anything less than a 110 makes it seem he was "off". lol

Anti-Tua posters simply can't accept their initial eval was wrong. Alan in England is one of those that from the time we drafted him, to preseason 2022, was clearly of the opinion Tua is mediocre. These posters can't stand that Tua is posting elite numbers, which is why they look for every flaw to claim Tua is average-ish and he's only putting up these numbers because of Hill, McD, etc. It's NOT Tua, which is totally ridiculous given how difficult it is even for great QBs to put up numbers Tua is putting up.

The run game is good because the passing game is good. You take Tua out, the passing game is not much better than average and the run game will go down too. And the team is 4-1 is large part because of Tua. No way we win the Chargers game without Tua playing like an elite QB, executing one scoring drive after another to compensate for a bad defense. We're not putting up 70 points either without Tua. Like it or not Tua is playing like an elite QB. Sadly I don't think you like it.

I only watch Dolphins games with a high level of scrutiny. Yesterday's game was shown live in the UK so watched the full 60 minutes. If Tua gets us deep into the play offs I will take back my words.

I'm actually starting to feel sorry for the people here who can't just enjoy what's happening this season without trying to nit pick anything that's less than perfect. This team is doing things on offense that have never been done before in history and we have a debate. It's sad.

Look, we’ve been stuck in mediocrity for the last 20 years. We’ve had flashes of potential here and there.

    We were hopeful with Saban
We were hopeful with Sparano and the Wildcat
    We were hopeful with Tannehill
    We were hopeful with Gase
    We were hopeful with Flores
We ARE hopeful with Tua and McDaniel

Guys, I get it. I’m one of the older ones here. I remember the glory days of the 70’s. I’ve seen it all. I know what it’s like to be hopeful and be let down.

Guys, we’re not there in Hopeville anymore. We are a legitimate powerhouse

Do we have to beat Buffalo? Of course we do
Do we have to beat the Chiefs? Of course we do
Do we have to beat Baltimore? Of course we do

Can we beat them? I say absolutely. We beat Buffalo last year and nearly beat them in the playoffs…with our THIRD string quarterback.

Remember, anybody can beat anybody on any given Sunday.

What's really bad is we've been looking for a great QB since Marino retired — that was by far the most important missing piece in the last 25 years, especially during the JJ and Wannstedt eras where we had solid teams outside of QB and could have made a SB run with one — and now that it looks like we may have one we have a bunch of posters who nitpick to try to justify their pre-draft view he's average lol.

What's also great is this isn't a flash in the pan. We're likely now to have winning seasons for many years to come. How many of those will be good enough for a SB run is hard to say, but the persistent mediocrity is demonstrably gone now. We're in the middle of the 4th consecutive winning season (haven't seen that since 2003) and a likely 2nd consecutive playoff appearance (haven't seen that since 2001). All we need now is a playoff win (haven't seen that since 2000), and... and we'll still have posters that focus on dissing Tua lol.

That may be the quote of the year- we pass on the record books for highest single game scoring ever...but the most yards in 5 games is supposed to be important? It's truly comical and I am thrilled we have a coach that takes it all in stride and focuses on what matters.

Brad, I love you my friend, but stats don't win football games! That is my annual reminder that your correlations are not as important as team chemistry, work ethic, and actually winning the football game.

Eagles, Bills, Chiefs, 49ers...That's the short list of teams I think are still currently a bit better than us.

Bengals, Ravens, Cowboys, Chargers, Lions, Bucs....That's the short list of teams I think would give us a hell of a game that could go either way.

We're right there with the elite of the league in my opinion. This season just feels different than past seasons. We'll see how things progress, but right now I'm loving it.

lol.. you ignore stats at your own peril. There's a reason most NFL front offices are moving heavily towards analytics, and that's because it does help win football games. If you think they don't you don't know what you're talking about.

Our current team is very clearly based on a statistical analysis of what tends to be most important in today's game. It's not an accident we put huge amounts of resources into finding elite WRs instead of putting those resources into the OL or at the RB position. The game has changed, and statistically it's more important to build an elite passing offense, putting fewer resources into OL and RB, than the other way around. This isn't the 1970's, and what you're seeing isn't an accident. It's also a reason league-wide that RBs aren't valued as much anymore.

It's also important for improving play calling. It's not an accident that when to go for it on 4th down has totally changed in the last decade. That's a simple example of a wider trend of leveraging historical data to improve your odds of winning. So yeah you don't know what you're talking about. I mean, deciding how to build a team and where to put resources is as important as it gets.

At around 26:30. Actually it don’t matter if or if it didn’t, that INT is on him, like the 1st one but who cares?! Yesterday was a decent game from him not really bad not really good. He can play better and he showed that already. Only concern I have with him is injuries and I‘m actually quite positive he‘s good in the departure too. He looks bigger and thicker and plays a lot smarter then the years prior.

Ummmm… that’s not Tua lol… and believing anything Omar says is just asking to be fooled. Again, I watched Tua’s presser, maybe I missed it, but you claimed Tua said his hand didn’t hit Connor’s helmet, but I didn’t hear him say that. I mean, it’s right there on video that his hand/arm hit the helmet.

And sure, the stats will forever show Tua threw that INT. Saying it’s “all on him” though, is just ignorant. Pretending that he made some bad decision there is just ignorant and shows an unhealthy amount of bias. Waddles was open. It was a quick pass, Conner’s head moved into the throwing lane at the last minute.

It really doesn't matter. In the end analysis, a pick is a pick and if he threw it, it's on him. It's like if somebody misses a block and he takes a strip sack. He makes plenty of great plays and deserves credit for them. If unfortunate circumstances lead to an unwanted result, it is what it is. And I'm sure he'll agree with that.

I didn’t call you ignorant. You seem to be biased, however. And you also seem emotional. Not sure what that’s about.

Anyhow, you’ve yet to show where Tua said anything that you claimed. You asked for the video, and I showed you clear proof that his hand hit the helmet. Then you just make more excuses and claim “it doesn’t matter” now. That’s what’s laughable.

Of course it matters when someone is trying to insinuate that Tua made some sort of bad decision. And this isn’t anything like someone missing a block and getting stripped. That’s two separate things. Everyone knows you protect the ball at all times. Sure, the missed block contributed to the strip, but it’s a mistake by the ball handler, too. Having a passing lane close in a split second isn’t really anyone’s fault. At most it’s Conmor’s. Even then though it’s just one of those “**** happens” things. Nothing can really be done about it. A better comparison would be a punt that hits the one yard line and rolls sideways pinning the team on the one yard line. It’s a lucky bounce. This was a lucky INT.

I watched your video and I don’t see what you see on there plus I got Omar Kelly who says Tua said what he said. I mean what’s your point?! Omar is a liar and I have to see things the way you do? I don’t think it’s clear that his hand hits the helmet, before the ball is gone or ever, like I wrote earlier. I’m not actually attacking Tua at all and you pee your panties…

You're never going to win those arguments. Count the times somebody who is complaining about his decisions has given him credit and compare it to how often he jumps on his mistakes.

I compare it to somebody being told his second shift assignment is to put on boxing gloves and pick up a million bobby pins off of large white floor. It's incredibly hard to do and if somebody managed to pick up 999,005 of the bobby pins, the Tua detractors are the knobs who show up for the next shift and b*tch about how second shift sucks because there are still 95 left to get. Tua could complete 34 of 35 passes and he'll still have people griping about the one that he threw a little short.

It's like the old saying: Never wrestle with pigs because you both get dirty and the pig likes it.

I'm not saying data is not important- it clearly is. Not debating any of that. But the data can't catch that pass for you or scramble out of the pocket. People do that...and people are unique.

For example, your earlier comment about rushing yards not being important- I get that's based on data. But that data is based on a pass-first league that doesn't run the football as much as they used to...so of course the data says that. I could easily argue that three of our four wins this season came PRIMARILY from running the football.

Additionally, McDaniel is running concepts never before seen in the NFL. How do you build a team to do something that's never been done before based on data? You're vastly minimizing what this team is doing and how McDaniel is doing it.

Likewise, your comment that McDaniel will only be proven if he wins a Super Bowl- the data told you that? After 5 weeks, we have the most explosive offense in the history of the league, we've broken multiple all-time records this season, but McDaniel has to get a ring to prove himself? Surely you can see the flawed logic there...

Last year could have possibly been our year if Tua and the offensive line remained healthy. This year...well, it's the same sentence. McDaniel's fate is tied to a lot more than just hiring the right people or calling the right plays.

You can easily argue this? The Chargers game was clearly won mostly due to Tua and the passing offense, so you must be talking about the other 3 games. Let's just try Denver. Tua passed for 4 TDs and had a 155.8 rating. Even though we ran for 350 yards there's NO credible way to argue we won "primarily" by running the football. But let's hear you dismiss Tua's 155.8 rating and 4 TD passes to argue we won "primarily from running the football".

I can't believe you even ask this question. You think data isn't important in developing new concepts??? If the data shows you that defenses are adapting in a particular way, or that defenses are leaving gaps open you didn't notice before, that alone can lead to new concepts. You do realize that almost all technological advances are due to data saying we should do X instead of Y to achieve a desired outcome. Put many such insights together and you have new inventions, or new formations/plays if we're talking about the NFL.

There's no flawed logic there. Tell me which HCs are considered great in NFL history who didn't win a SB, or who are considered great because they broke records after a 5 game period. lol. Yes, greatness usually requires you win multiple championships and win a lot of games over a longer period of time. That's why Belichick, Walsh, Shula, etc are considered some of the greatest HCs in NFL history. None would be if they didn't win a SB.

Hiring the right people is integral to the success of almost any organization, sports or not. You can clearly see how important it is that we have a GM and HC who are on the same page. Disagreements there can lead to serious dysfunction, so you shouldn't diminish that. And if you think McDaniel's play calling abilities are not integral to us winning, well I don't know what to tell you. This offense is performing at elite levels in large part because of that.

Why would I dismiss anything Tua did? Oh, that's right, because your stats don't show how a powerful run game forces teams to do stupid things like leave Tyreek Hill in a 1:1 matchup against a rookie CB along the sidelines for an easy deep TD. I'm not discounting Tua at all...heck, he called that play himself and McDaniel freaked out over it.

I'd say we primarily won through the run game because we continually faced 2nd and short...and often not 3rd down at all before we were moving the chains. Part of why Tua looks so dominant is because we actually have a ground game to be scared of. And the great pass attack is how Archane has multiple 1-cut TD runs this season; those things work in tandem. Tua played great but our run game led the way.

Please show me your data that illustrates gaps on the field. You're acting like McDaniel doesn't deserve credit for any of this, it was a computer printout that makes this team so effective. Why can't every coach do what McDaniel has been doing? For that matter, why are broadcasters calling Miami's offense revolutionary?

You're completely discounting the human element and trying to make this solely about statistical analysis. McDaniel is a fan of data, but a lot of his success also comes from just doing the opposite of NFL tendencies. There's videos out there by McDaniel if you're interested.

I'm not diminishing that- I'm saying it's a core reason of why we're successful. But without Tua, this offense doesn't work. Without McDaniel, we don't have this offense. These things aren't tied together by statistics, they're actual humans doing human things.
