Hes leading the books for MVP right now. We are in fact, micro managing at this point. Team is 4-1. Your QB is playing at a level we havent seen since 13 retired. Lets enjoy the ride.
Did he say Tua did everything perfectly? Your hatred has definitely taken its toll on you. Sad situation.
If you cant enjoy 5 games in bring 4-1, having the stastically greatest offense through 5 games in nfl history and having the leading contenders for COY, ROY and MVP, i dont know what we are doing here. This is a GOOD team. And guess what? Getting healthier, cleaning things up in all 3 phases, we can be GREAT. Its there.
It's cool if he (or any fan) thinks the glass is half-empty. We all see the game the way we see it. If perfection is your goal, go ahead and point out the cellulite on a supermodel's otherwise beautiful body or how you don't think freckles are particularly cute. As long as you admit she belongs on the runway, you have credibility with me. The ones who bug me are the BS artists who will contend there's no glass and no water. We have some fans who only show up to b*tch about mistakes and seem to take pleasure when we lose. It's clear that they have an agenda and I've better things to do than debate them when they complain about a player who is arguably a top-10 player and objectively the best QB in the league right now. It's cool to want something better than what you have. It's foolish to think that you're likely to find it.
More misery is coming next week for anti-Tua posters. We'll be 5-1, again have very good offensive production, but it will be the few bad decisions Tua makes that will be their focus, and further evidence that Tua is just an average QB despite being at or near the top of the league in many key passing stats lol. Loving it.
Yeah McDaniel is turning out to be a great HC. He still has to win the SBs to prove it, but all indications are we found ourselves a successor to Shula (though a very different kind of coach — primarily a brilliant offensive mind, which is what you need in the current era). And hats off to Grier for hiring McD.
Grier believed in Tua and went with an OC that believed in Tua. That was the part of his pitch that won him the job. And we havent had a GM/HC/QB triumvirate on the same page in eons, and this is what continuity, identity, and direction feels like. You’re out of the wilderness guys. We have a direction again. Enjoy it, friends.
Absolutely correct. That's why I question their loyalty to the Dolphins as a whole, or if they're even Dolphins fans to begin with. I know of one , possibly two, posters here that root for a different team altogether. And that person KNOWS I know.
He seemed rather serious to me. I thought he was grounded and not letting a good season start overwhelm him. Of course, he can't get all the way through a media session without his signature humor but I have a feeling he's setting the example for the team to take these next few weeks seriously. I don't think the moment and opportunity it presents are lost on him.
I just would have thought, based on the tweet I read he had to have been being sarcastic. I mean, I’m SURE the Dolphins entire off season goal was to lead the league statistically after 5 games. (sarcasm) Maybe I missed something and I’ll look at the PC later.
I didn't mind the turnovers that much, but the pass defense didn't look that good, given the level of competition.
After the second game, he really emphasized how no team made the playoffs by only winning two games. I think his quote was sarcastic in nature but really it was to let the reporter know that the team's focus isn't on winning games, not accruing stats. Some of the team media is fixated on the fact that things look different than we've become used to but he's trying to make sure the team knows it's already time to look ahead instead of behind. I'll bet last week's game is weighing on him as a missed opportunity and he's not getting caught up in the the hype. Anyway, I could be wrong but that's how I see it.
Every time Waller got open, it waz Apple on him. Dont know why we kept letting that mismatch happen early but eventually X and Kader rotated.
lol...How did you get that out of what I wrote? I clearly wrote that he made a bad decision and throw in my very first sentence.
I think you may be nitpicking a bit. Waller had 8 receptions on 11 targets for only 86 yards. Other than Robinson who had 5 receptions, no other Giants receiver had more than 2 receptions. But then again, when your defense sacks the quarterback 8 times, said quarterback is gonna have a bad day.
Actually, that reply I guess should have been directed more at Rick than you Vinny. Sorry about that.
The Niners are like scary good. But Dallas also seems to kind of suck. The defense feasted on two of the worst offenses in the NFL in weeks 1-2 and have been meh since. And Dak blows. I'm not sure they make the playoffs.
49ers got lucky with Purdy. Not much to go on, but he's another elite QB in the making. Still hasn't had a bad game. Cowboys got unlucky with Dak. Consistently above average but not elite. Too good to get rid of but not good enough to win in the playoffs. Great example of the danger of not getting the QB position right. If we keep improving, there's very well the possibility of a Dolphins 49ers SB. Right now they'd be favored. We still have to get past KC though. KC vs 49ers is probably the "objective" best bet for a SB matchup right now, but things can change.
The biggest differences between the 49ers and Dolphins is, of course their defenses, but Shannahan's short yardage play calling is 2nd to none. He's got a lot more experience than MM so it's to be expected, but he seems to be able to reign in it and get what's needed rather than always going for the homerun like MM does. I think MM will get there, though.
49ers got so lucky with Purdy. He and Tua could be brothers in how well they process the field. I think Tua is a lot like MM though, in that he presses where Purdy doesn't seem to do that as much. Probably more a product of their coaching than anything else and as MM goes so will Tua.
Looks impressive, but most of those have a relatively low correlation to winning. #1 in EPA/play however is no joke. That's probably the most relevant stat there. Also #1 in passing yards/attempt is no joke. Offensive passing efficiency, whether Y/A or passer rating, is a very important predictor of win%. The most important ones missing are turnover differential and defensive passing efficiency (e.g. defensive passing yards/attempt allowed, or passer rating allowed). If you see a team very highly ranked on EPA/play, offensive and defensive passing efficiency, and turnover differential, statistically that's a SB team.
I counted 3, maybe 4 bad throws today. Can improve, sure, but i dont think youll see a perfect game. The defense is starting to gell. Run game is next level. last 2 drastically lacking things that need to improve? Penalties and special teams. That punt had me white hot.
fortunately the run game is looking good as if we rely on Tua this team will go nowhere. The 2 interceptions , especially the second , were terrible pieces of play on his part.
I give Tua a mulligan on that 2nd interception. If your hand hits the helmet if your center as you’re throwing the ball, you can’t get follow through and the ball is going to float
