If we're talking SB era, we set the record for most yards from scrimmage in a game at 726. Rams in 1951 had 735, but that was a totally different era.

Unless they bench the starters soon, then it's looking like KC might start stealing some of these stats immediately. 41-0 with 7:40 to go in the 3rd.

    Don’t swear it. Here’s why.

    Miami scored
    1st qtr 14
    2nd qtr 21
    3rd qtr 14
    4th qtr 21

    KC so far!
    1st qtr 7
    2nd qtr 27
    3rd qtr 7

    They’re not on pace.

Yeah they benched the starters before the last drive otherwise they were keeping pace.

They switched to the Cowboys bears game here so I haven’t even able to see it…

And I wasn’t interested enough to try and stream it.

I truly can’t wait for next week’s game against Buffalo and the game against the Chiefs.

I've had on Redzone for this run of games. Ideally the Cowboys wake up in the fourth because I need a Pollard TD or 12 points for purely financial reasons.

I think Buffalo next week is going to be massive next week. Win that and the division is really ours to lose. You know Milano will be looking for a cheap shot too.

    Start Mike White.

Leads league in completion percentage and yard per attempt and passes for a TD on every other drop back.

From ESPN's write up about the game:

In one of the most lopsided games in NFL history, the Dolphins put up 726 yards as the league's best offense went berserk in its home opener. The point total marked a new franchise record and the most points any NFL team has scored since Washington scored 72 against the New York Giants in 1966.

In total, the Dolphins recorded nearly as many rushing yards (350) as passing yards (376), averaging 10.2 yards per play in the process.

The Dolphins are the first team in NFL history to record five passing touchdowns and five rushing touchdowns in the same game, and the second team in history to record more than 700 yards of offense since the Rams did so in 1951. They are also the first team in history to score 70 points with 700 yards of offense, and the second to record 300 rushing yards and 300 passing yards, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.

Seems like a decent place to post this.

The last time the Dolphins went 3-0 to start two consecutive seasons was 1995/1996, Don Shula’s last season with the team and Jimmy Johnson’s first.

The Dolphins made the playoffs in 1995 and lost the wildcard game and they missed the playoffs in 1996.

Oh no, why would I post that? Ok, let’s let the 95/96 seasons be a wash since it was 2 different head coaches.

The last time the Dolphins went 3-0 in two consecutive seasons under the same head coach (Shula) was the 1981/1982 seasons.

In 1981, the Dolphins finished the season 1st in the AFC East with an 11-4-1 record, but lost the AFC Divisional playoff game the the San Diego Chargers 38-41 in overtime.

In 1982, the Dolphins, due to the NFL players strike, finished the season 2nd in the AFC East with a record of 7-2 and lost the Super Bowl to the Washington Redskins 17-27.

So it’s been 27 years since the Dolphins started 2 consecutive seasons 3-0…and 41 years since the Dolphins started 2 consecutive seasons 3-0 under the same head coach.

Hopefully this is a pretty good omen for the 2023 season.

Another record of note is that with the 54-yard touchdown, Tyreek Hill had 2,019 receiving yards in a Dolphins uniform. Per ESPN's Jeff Darlington, that's the most receiving yards in NFL history by a player in his first 20 games with a new team.

Now, imagine if Tua had not been injured last season and Hill's epic season not been put on hold while Teddy B. and Skylar took the reins.

More like it are coming. Remember how impressive the Chargers game was? Repeated comebacks to win it in the end? Now this? Only through McDaniel's grace do we not have the record for most points scored in a single game. That's 2 impressive games out of 3 total played this season. We're looking at the makings of one of the most dynamic offenses this league has seen if the first 3 games are any indication. Top 10 in NFL history isn't out of the question if this continues. Have to do it for an entire season of course, and we'll need to win the SB, or it rightfully won't mean much. But this is fun!

I was genuinely excited for the game to start yesterday as I was expecting us to post a 40 burger and Tua to have over 300 yards. This was even beyond my wildest dreams and I was thinking half way through the 3rd quarter if the refs could just call the game there to prevent any injuries.

I said in the other thread that the offence probably should have scored 40+ against both the Chargers and the Patriots if they didn't shoot themselves in the foot and yesterday they were perfect. The only thing that can stop this offence is themselves and even then they overcame a few big penalties yesterday.
