MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Miami Dolphins today announced they have placed tackle Terron Armstead, tight end Tanner Conner and tackle Isaiah Wynn on the active/physically unable to perform list and activated cornerback Ethan Bonner off the non-football injury list. Armstead started 13 games at left tackle for Miami last year and was selected to the Pro Bowl for the fourth time in his career. He has played in 110 regular-season games with 106 starts and 10 postseason contests in his career. Armstead joined the Dolphins as an unrestricted free agent from New Orleans on March 24, 2022. He was originally a third-round pick (75th overall) by New Orleans in the 2013 NFL Draft following his collegiate career at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Conner appeared in 13 games as a rookie for Miami in 2022. He joined the team as an undrafted college free agent from Idaho State on May 13, 2022, where he was a first-team All-Big Sky selection at wide receiver in the spring of 2021. Conner also earned all-conference honors in track and field. He transitioned to tight end when he was signed by the Dolphins last year. Wynn signed with Miami on May 15, 2023 after spending five years (2018-22) in New England. He's played in 43 career games with 40 starts, including 33 at left tackle, six at right tackle and one at left guard. He also started a playoff contest in 2019. Wynn was originally a first-round pick (23rd overall) by New England in the 2018 NFL Draft following his collegiate career at Georgia. Bonner joined the Dolphins as an undrafted college free agent on May 12, 2023. He was a four-year letterman at Stanford, where he played in 21 games with 15 starts. As a senior in 2022, Bonner started 10 games, recording 29 tackles (20 solo) and five passes defensed.
As training camp gets underway, head coach Mike McDaniel is doing his due diligence in gauging his team’s preparedness, including his thoughts on the PUP stints for Terron Armstead and Isaiah Wynn, reports NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe. “Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said LT Terron Armstead had a knee clean-up surgery this offseason landed him on PUP. OL Isaiah Wynn was hurt working out on his own. McDaniel said of 4 PUP guys, he expects Armstead and Wynn to be closest to return then Nik Needham then Tanner Conner.” Both Isaiah Wynn and Terron Armstead figure to be a big part of the Dolphins potential success this season and Miami faithful have to be glad that Mike McDaniel predicts their return from the PUP list sooner rather than later. In order for the Dolphins to reach their desired heights this season, they will need all hands on deck. While McDaniel and the rest of the Dolphins gear up for training camp, the front office is still heavily involved in rumors surrounding Dalvin Cook. Cook would be a huge add by the Dolphins that would immediately give them a bell-cow running back on an offense that already has two elite wide receivers. In the end, the success of the Dolphins this year will come down to the health of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Regardless of the PUP list, training camp, or the opening week roster overall, McDaniel and the Dolphins will need Tagovailoa out there if they want to have any success this season.
I get that it's day one of training camp, but man on man this can't be happening. It's everyones biggest fear. Tua needs all the protection he can get and if you Best Online Player is going to be missing a bunch of games like last few seasons were going to be holding our breath every game now!!!
Wynn off PUP The Miami Dolphins have made a key roster move to protect quarterback Tua Tagovailoa by removing offensive tackle Isaiah Wynn off the PUP list for training camp. Wynn started 40 games over four seasons for the New England Patriots, who selected him in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Georgia. Wynn missed his rookie season due to a torn Achilles injury and has struggled to consistently stay on the field in his young career. Wynn was placed on the PUP list for the start of training camp due to an injury he suffered on his own working out. The 27-year-old tackle was signed to the Dolphins roster this offseason on a one-year contract and should provide a solid presence on the line for Miami. Wynn struggled in 2022 moving over to right tackle, but had previously been one of the better run-blocking and pass-protecting left tackles in the league for the Patriots. Wynn, 27, is expected to push for the starting right tackle job in Miami, where he’ll protect lefty quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s blindside. Terron Armstead is expected to stay at left tackle. Miami’s offensive line was tied for 10th in the NFL in least sacks allowed last season, with Armstead, center Connor Williams and guard Robert Hunt all grading out very well, according to Pro Football Focus. Isaiah Wynn’s addition should help further solidify the Dolphins’ offensive line if he can avoid injury. Protecting Tagovailoa, who suffered two concussions last season and missed multiple games, appears to be a clear priority for the Dolphins moving forward.
Left tackle Terron Armstead is making progress on his way to full participation at Dolphins training camp. Armstead was placed on the physically unable to perform list at the start of camp, but multiple reports on Monday say that he has been activated from the list. Armstead was in uniform for Monday’s practice, but was not in pads so he hasn’t been cleared for all activities. Armstead dealt with toe, pectoral, knee, and hip injuries last season, but was able to start 13 regular season games and the team’s lone postseason contest. The Dolphins activated offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn over the weekend, which leaves cornerback Nik Needham and tight end Tanner Conner on the PUP list.
He’s a beast. Would rather have him on my team than not. Everyone can’t be perfect. Sometimes I think you miss the fact that these men are warriors and when you sit on your velvet couch and pass judgement on people who are putting more effort then most people do it pains me to see you belittle them.
Maybe so, but is there an NFL offensive lineman that's started and played all 17 games in a season? Serious question.
Will be interesting to see what he can do if he is fully healthy and fully practicing heading into the season. He barely practiced at all last season. Or the season before that with the Saints…,
Yes, there are lots of NFL linemen who started and played every game last season. We even had a couple on our team like Robert Hunt and Connor Williams. Some linemen are just more durable than others.
2 game difference is sure closer then your wanting to imply he likely won't miss any game and he never has. He has averaged 5 missed games a year in his career. Half of his career he has missed 6 games or more. Facts should not hurt someone's feelings
I never implied anything. I think the guy showed tremendous heart playing through a lot of pain and answered the bell 14 out of 18 times. 5 is not 6 or 8. The post was to disparage the player IMO. That's what I reacted to. Look if you want him to be hurt more its something that I just don't get. But we have some strange takes here in the mains.
No one said they want him to be hurt. No one said they want him to miss games. The comment was just facts, he misses games. If the post had said he sucks or is terrible that would be different.
