So, after a few days of processing everything how are you guys doing and how are you viewing the next season? I think the hardest part of all this is that we've been sitting through a mutli-year rebuild and the building just got torn down, and now we have to build on new plans with at least some of the same parts. It's honestly exhausting and hard to care, at least for me. I have 0 expectations for next year. None. I only hope that somehow we see some light and we're not horrible... more horrible. If we're a dumpster fire it's going to be hard for me to care what happens. So, I'll watch the offseason, i don't have a HC prefernce or anything else. I'm just going to see what they do, see what happens, see how the season goes and judge it then. How about you guys?
Yay new coach, new offense, new defense! I have no expectations of a Superbowl or even playoffs so color me meh..
LOL, except for firing the head coach that produced two winning seasons with a joke of an offense. It is honestly too soon to tell either way, and a lot will depend on the coordinators and coaches brought in to run all three phases. Big changes on offense is likely a mistake due to Tua's skillset, and big changes on defensive scheme are also a huge issue. We covered up a lot of positional problems through scheme alone, so I really have no idea what to expect.
No expectations whatsoever. I doubt we get anything close to "Pick of the Litter" of the available coaching candidates, in fact, it will be interesting to see who agrees to step into this fuster cluck situation with an entrenched GM, a know nothing owner and, no control over the selection of a QB.
Too early to tell. Team has a boatload of cap space for free agency this off-season. Could be a much different team come april.
Very low after firing Flores. Don’t trust Grier or Ross to make the right hire. After a good draft last year, Grier is due for a crappy one.
Have to see what they do in draft and free agency. We have two frist round picks next season so that’s probably the all in year. Unless they dump those this year for a new qb. I would set the bar for myself as having a product on the field that makes me not regret sitting in the stands at home games.
My expectations for each of the last two years were far lower than a lot of others on here. I've long felt that people get too caught up in the bottom line record, and don't pay enough attention to the how. Had Flores returned, its likely that my expectation would have been a team collapse, akin to what happened when they kept Wanny, Sparano and Philbin a year too long. Something like 5-12. Now, with a new coach, we'll see who they hire and what we do to make the massive improvement in offense that are necessary around Tua. We have the most cap space in the league already, and that could grow easily by about 20 mil. Sign the right players and then do well in the draft, and I can see a winning record next year.
That was Ownerspeak so as not to scare off any potential candidates when what he was really saying was, "We'll talk about it."
