How about at least posting with some decency and respect towards others? Keep garbage like that to twitter or something.
0% because the Texans are treating his value like he has no legal issues and nobody will offer that kind of picks And we don't even know if the NFL would let him play.
Iggy and Jackson are very concerning draft picks at this point. You're spot on there. Tua isn't quite in that pack yet IMO; but he's closer to falling into that category than he is to falling into the franchise QB category that's for sure. At the end of the day though; we'll never know without a competent OL and running game. It's Ryan Tannehill all over again because we didn't learn.
“I don’t consider myself a backup quarterback. I’m the starter” - Jacoby Brissett to the media after the game.
Okay, really tough hit, but that doesn't resolve the durability issue Tua has. Unless you think that type of hit won't happen again?
We got smoked today. Buffalo has our number. We're 1-1, the sky isn't falling, we can beat the Raiders next week. I certainly did not have us winning this one today, but I didn't see us getting smoked the way we did. As far as Tua goes...I think I've seen enough. I get it...He got mollywhopped by a 280 defensive lineman, but I've seen enough. He's a game manager and he's a career backup type of player. He's the type of QB that wont lose the game for you, but certainly wont win one on his shoulders. He can't carry a team the way a franchise QB is supposed to. He's got a great heart, great personality, great character, great attitude. But he's limited skill wise in the NFL and he simply isn't durable enough. I mean....you put all those positives into a body like Jacoby Brissett and you'd have a franchise QB. I was more than prepared to see Jacoby Brissett this year. I didn't think it would be this early. Tua is probably done for a few weeks with the rib injury. They take time to heal and he doesn't have the stones to play through it the way guys like Ben Roethlisberger can. My question is this....How much longer until the idea of Deshaun Watson becomes more appealing? Or Aaron Rodgers for that matter?
Drew Rosenhaus says Tua is likely to miss 2 or 3 weeks with the bruised ribs. He also begged the Dolphins to trade for DeShaun Watson.
If you want to win with most of the current roster? You need one of those guys. If you want to rebuild around another rookie QB? Then you plan to rebuild without the older vets (any player that is 27 or older in other words).
I was very vocal that I was concerned with Tua's durability, but at this point none of that matters. He's our QB and Pro-Bowl or bust, I'm still a massive fan until he's not the guy anymore. Those wanting to say, "I told you so," just aren't thinking this through.
At least Tannehill was prototype QB size, incredibly durable, and had a freaking cannon for an arm. Tua has none of that. Tua was supposed to be so great because his brain and accuracy made up for his lack of size and arm strength. So far I don't see a QB who is really smart, and I don't find his passes to really be that accurate.
Not sure about your logic here? Numerous posters said his durability is a huge concern especially for the number 5 pick in the draft. And here we are. This guy has never played a full season at any level. With his limited skill set this pick was a career ending mistake for numerous people in this organazation.
Tua got clocked by an unblocked defender at full speed, three times within the first six or seven plays. That's not a "durability thing", but even if it was then I wouldn't be here saying, "I told you so." Plain and simple, you don't let your QB get leveled like that over and over and over again. It's a recipe for disaster sooner or later...even Big Ben would eventually get knocked out from hits like that.
The Qb job is to identify the free rusher Two plays in a row he failed to do so As I mentioned before he has never played a full season ever;
Not an unblocked hit from the blindside- not like that. That's exactly how we let a guy like RT look like a bum in Miami and a champion in Tennessee- you have to protect your QB's blindside (and every other side, but mainly his back).
Dude the first 2 sacks were not the blindside. They were a corner rushing in a face 2 plays in a row This guy is not smart enough to identify this.
Yep.. another pick i wasnt thrilled with.. as a fan of USC, i thought a first round pick on him was a complete reach
It has been clear to me for a while now that the real problem is Grier. Flores is not a bad coach, although he is clearly lacking in offensive expertise. The biggest problem this organization has had over the years is consistently bad drafting, and it has mostly been Grier involved in that aspect of the organization for many years now. Enough is enough, Grier and his entire scouting department have to go.
I put this game and the overall **** show the dolphins have been for years entirely on Chris Grier. Consistently bad drafts and completely missing the ball on our top picks is the main reason this team still sucks balls.
If he takes that Tunsil lottery ticket trade and pisses it down his leg, he absolutely has to go. So far, it’s not looking good. You just can’t miss on 3 first round draft picks and be successful.
Where the heck did you get this from? So Ross is the GM now? Grier is ultimately responsible for drafting, not Ross.
Several times per game, Tua tries to roll out and extend plays off script and he is remarkably slow of foot. He’s only six feet tall so throwing lanes are harder to come by. You can make the argument that he’s not fragile if you want but he’s not durable either. With this team’s lack of commitment to the offensive line, he may not be the QB for us, and would be considered a major risky project by another team.
No, there have been PLENTY of high round picks spent on building this OL. You have to draft the RIGHT players though.
