This thread is about who do you think will turn out the best Pro in this draft? And what you would like the Dolphins to do in the first round. Top 5: -Lawrence -Sewell -Harris -Pitts -Fields 1st Round: Trade out of the 3rd spot pick up Parsons/Chase or Pitts, get Waddle (if we picked Parsons or Pitts) with our pick and trade back up for Harris (I might even take him with our 1st round pick).
I wouldn't pick Parsons. He's fantastic, but it's risky to assume we can get a top WR at #18 (I'd put that at 50/50). Trade down is great, but with the first pick we need to pick a WR (it's by far our biggest weakness).
Chase would be the only one I would pick top 10 and even he doesn't "wow" me. I agree that WR is definite need but I don't like the WR talent in this draft compared to last years for instance but we should go after WRs in this draft, for me it hasn't to be with our 1st pick though.
Top 5 for our pick or just overall top 5? Lawrence Sewell Chase Wilson Parsons for us: Parsons, Chase, Smith, Paye, Wilson
Lawrence, Fields, Sewell, Chase, Rousseau I'm up in the air on anyone after the Big 2 QBs and Sewell though, big gap after that. Which is why landing the #3 pick is crazy good. I like Chase a lot as a WR, but I don't know if you want to take a WR that high. If we can trade down with someone in the top 10, then yeah go for it. Smith is a great talent at WR too, but man ... taking a 175lb WR in the top 10 is a hard sell. We won't get Chase at 18, but I'd bet one of Smith, Waddle, Bateman and Toney are available. Beyond that, guys like Moore, Olave and Marshall may last into early round 2. Defensively, I give Rousseau the edge because he's ON the edge. I see Parsons as similar to Chase - great prospect but positional value isn't quite there for a top 3 pick. Again, with a trade back, he's an option. However, if we are set on drafting defense at 3, you go passrush. Rousseau isn't the destroyer that a Myles Garrett or Chase Young were, but the raw talent might be enough. Risky though. I think we should be in a good spot to trade down though, regardless of who goes 1-2. The Falcons could plausibly go for both QB and LT, and there are several QB and LT needy teams right after them through the top 10. We make the most sense as a trade back partner for many teams. Even if we don't necessarily get "top" value, if we are targeting Chase or Parsons, then a trade back makes too much sense.
Zach Wilson will be the third player drafted and it may not be us making the pick. I think after Zach goes through the combine and pro day, teams will be lining up for his services. The 2022 quarterback class will be one of the weakest classes in a long time.. there is going to be a lot of teams sending scouts to see Zach and Mac and there will be desperation. I fully expect multiple teams to make some desperate attempt to trade up.
I’d love to see that. If we can pile up some more draft picks, that Tunsil trade could be the Hershel Walker equivalent in terms of franchise changing.
I want him too... but if some team starts offering something crazy... how do we turn that down... Just four years ago, Philadelphia offered three Top 100 picks (one being a first rounder) in the 2016 draft, a 2017 first round pick and a 2018 2nd round pick to move up and pick Carson Wentz. in my opinion, Zach Wilson is a much better prospect than Wentz, hell I have Wilson rated higher than Fields but Fields will no doubt be picked either 1 or 2. so with all that said, with the fact that 2022 does not look like a great class for quarterback, there may not even be a first round worthy qb in 2022.. there will be desperation to get a qb and there are many teams that need a quarterback... off the top of my head.. i expect these teams to be calling us.. Carolina Washington Giants Cowboys Chicago Detroit Indianapolis New England San Francisco
Don‘t think it will be hard to trade out of the 3rd pick. I‘m quite interested who we target, if we pick at 3 it has to be Sewell, could live with that but would rather have Chase or Parsons. I really hope we get our hands on Harris though, would love to see him in our Jersey!
People say this every year. Next year there will be quarterbacks at the top of the draft everyone is going to be fawning over. Who the hell knew who Zach Wilson was 3 weeks ago?
I don't entirely disagree, but several of those teams can probably be crossed off. Panthers seem ok with Teddy, Giants probably won't drop Jones that fast, Cowboys will resign/franchise Dak, Indy will bring back Rivers, Detroit may keep Stafford. I'd be really intrigued if Detroit dealt Stafford to a team like SF though - that would make them a prime trade candidate. Their biggest issue a lack of picks this year. I think we are also sleeping on teams that may covent Sewell. OT is somewhat deep, but Sewell is head and shoulders above the rest this year, unlike 2020 when the top 4 were all pretty closely rated. This. Nobody is concerned about the 2022 QB class. Joe Burrow is another example - there will always be at least 1-2 QBs who rise up.
Uh me... ive liked zach wilson since his freshmen season. He has always been an excellent football player. But i watch and follow college football more than i do the NFL so im not a casual that just watches Ohio State Clemson and Alabama games.
You're being a smartass, but the truth is, I also watch BYU whenever they happen to be on because their offense is usually entertaining. No reason other people wouldn't feel the same way.
WCC does not have football... BYU is independent just like Notre Dame. BYU basketball is in the WCC. And BYU plays teams like Utah, Boise State, Nevada, Utah State, PAC-12 powerhouses and sometimes even Big 10 powerhouses regularly. All of those teams and conferences have very good football programs and churns out nfl talent in bunches .. so yes, if BYU is on the television, which they usually are nationally televised, i am watching. Btw the WCC is home to the number 1 ranked basketball team in the nation in Gonzaga... but yea go **** on them..
