Week 1 Jets @ Dolphins official game thread

This is a good test for our young team...lets see if they have fire in their bellies

 

Seriously, is it just me or are these refs terrible. I really think theyre are parts of the NFL that are fixed to be honest.

 

On that T Jones TD run, you could see Matty's green come out at OLB, he did not get deep enough and Jones outran him to the corner of the endzone.

Our ball 41 yd line, let's see what we are made of, I suspect we go max protect, it is on the Wr and Te now.

 

im not calling for the permanent benching or cutting of pennington btw with this statement... im simply saying he's been ineffective... theres still time, were not totally out of it... lets see what a change of pace brings?

Man you guys quickly give up. I'll say this, I don't want to hear you guys saying anything positive when we win games.

 

This team will have a top 10 pick not the first.

 

I thought this team was to be about a new attitude, a new begininng.....looks like more of the same.

 

The PI call was iffy, probably shoudn't have been called, but it is what it is. Those types of calls usually even out. Earlier in the game, Goodman was draped on Coles with no call.

The delay of game was BS. The clock clearly said double zeros with no whistle.
It doesn't matter though guys. We are getting punched in the mouth and are not responding.

Heck, the best tackle of the day was Ricky Williams on Vernon Carey.

And this team will not succeed unless it commits to giving the ball to Ronnie Brown. I am convinced of that. Saban knew it, Cameron learned it after a couple of weeks. I can only hope that Sparano and Co. don't rely on Chad so much going forward and instead, utilize Ronnie.

 

I am also surprised people are already giving up.

 

Guys, please remember that we are in year #1 of a rebuilding process and there is a long way to go. We are a 4-5 win team IMO, I think alot of people got their hopes up with the addition of Penny. Patience is the key and we should be happy to see growth and a change in attitude, the wins will come.

sure were loosing. but were young and inexperienced. playing a better team.

ohh nice.. the flea flicker was on there... ginn apparently got behind everyone... but williams got nailed b efore pitching it back.. that sucks. that woulda fired everyone up!

Well said L2G. We have 29 new players on this team. Rebuilding process. I'm actually happy with how far this game has gone. We've had a lot of miscues and still aren't completely out of it. If we had these miscues last year in this game, we would have been down by 25.

 

They've been vulnerable everywhere. The O line is playing poorly and the D as a whole isnt doing much better. The whole team seems different in attitude and skill than they did in pre season. Play calling has been odd too.

I am not sure it would change anything but I wouldn't mind seeing Henne in for a bit.

We've got to see what we have in this team, I'm not changing the channel just yet, to me they have shown heart.

 

I know you are right, but its been "rebuilding" or "retooling" for 7 seasons now.....and it doesn't look like the offense is as good as last year, and the defense looks worse too. 0-16 is very doable with this team.

 

We won't be seeing Henne in this game unless Pennington gets injured

 

BTW the NE game is getting dicey and the Seahawks are driving against the Bills.

 

Im not giving up on the team, IM just saying this game was win-able but we were given SOOOOOO many chaces to do something and we just choked..

Next week is a new chance, just sad that its at home, and all the preseason hype is gone now...

Total BS. But the PI was.

 

No...apparently the Jets had their 11th guy running off the field. Yeah...that makes sense.

 

By the way, everytime this ref does our games, we get lots of penalties and lose.....check the record with him as our ref.....the fix was in. CBS and the NFL wanted Favre to win this.

I say ban any talk of draft picks period until after week 4....

Well we've also had 3 different regimes in the past 3 years, so there really hasn't been much consistency.

I don't agree that the D looks worse, it certainly hasn't looked great so far, but remember back to the Raiders game last year and they aren't even close. The offense.....we aren't using Ronnie enough and Ginn is a nonfactor which was my biggest concern with Penny. He doesn't have the arm strength to properly utilize Ginn's homerun speed and the Jets have been cheating against run all day.

 

I'm just hoping they get the fire they had back. They have the potential to play much better. True it's one game and early in the season. Hopefully they will learn and improve.
