Let's get it! Breakdown Highlights (for full breakdowns follow the links): Oddsshark - Link 1, Link 2 "New York News & Notes [Gase's] Jets are 0-5 SU and ATS and have a staggering average margin of defeat of 17.2 points. New York ranks 31st in the NFL in scoring defense, allowing 32.2 points per game, and is dead last in scoring offense with only 15 points per game. To make matters worse, the Jets are riddled with injuries. Le’Veon Bell returned from a hamstring injury in last Sunday’s 30-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, but quarterback Sam Darnold and wide receivers Chris Hogan and Breshad Perriman are all listed as questionable for this Sunday’s game. Darnold has regressed in his second year under Gase with only 792 passing yards, three passing touchdowns and four interceptions across four starts in 2020." "Miami News & Notes Miami’s three losses this season have come against three of the league’s best teams in the Seahawks, the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills. Blowout wins against the Jacksonville Jaguars and 49ers suggest that the Dolphins may be more competitive than their 2-3 SU record would indicate." "Pick: Miami -8 New York has lost all five of its games by double digits this season and looks completely lost on both sides of the ball. There might be some value on the Jets at some point this season if the front office decides to cut ties with Adam Gase, but until then, they make for a pretty reliable fade." Uniform Looks like a change from the original aqua on white to ALL WHITE:
Possible Bell trade coming soon - https://jetswire.usatoday.com/2020/...to-trade-leveon-bell-2020-nfl-trade-deadline/
They can have Jordan Howard. It's literally painful to watch how slow his feet are and how long it takes him to get going anywhere. I dont even want Bell, but anything would be an upgrade in my opinion, and if the deal expires this year (not sure it does?) even better. Edit: I just checked and 2 years of that atrocious contract? I take this entire post back. I didnt realize there were 2 years left at that amount.
Good luck lol. They will have to pull an Ossweiler and pay someone a draft pick to take that contract. RB is not really a need for most teams anyway.
Bell can talk crap about some other coach or GM a big pass please. Him and Antonio Brown have big head issues. Almost as if they were drafted from the same terrible yellow line of thought.
Cannot wait for this game and it looks like they are playing it here(Iowa). To be 3-3 for this organization and everything we’ve endured, to have some sort of relevance and hope 6 games into the season, is very exciting.
He doesn't know much about spreads. Funny. That means your team is viewed as much better than the other one and is expected to win by a good bit.
I can't stand the New York Jets...I loathe them more than any other team in the league and that includes the Dallas Cowboys who are only slightly behind them, but still behind them. I hope we beat them so bad that they fire Gase right after the game. These guys are the purest of enemies that we have and we need to demolish them until they beg for us to stop. I mean, if we can whoop their asses like 49-0 that would be really cool.
It seems like we always have trouble with games that we're supposed to win when expectations are high but we surprise the occasional team that we're supposed to lose to. If we can come away with a win against the jest then I'll feel a whole lot more confident about the rest of the season.
Exactly. For years there's been this sense of coming failure - it was inevitable. We could pull off upsets now and then but we couldn't reliably hold onto leads, and didn't show the other true signs of quality - winning the games you're supposed to win, not making stupid errors, not having any glaring weaknesses (being balanced), etc. We're not there yet but every advancement in any of those areas is a really nice thing to see. Being able to consistently beat weak teams, and especially divisional games and other 'pressure' games, is one of those steps forward I'm eager to see!
This is my biggest hope this season. If Miami beats the teams they are supposed to beat and are competitive against the teams that they are expected to lose, then I will be happy.
Maybe we could get super lucky, beat the crap out of the jesters, get Crase fired from the jesters, and then he gets hired by the Texans to finish wrecking that team this year. WIN! WIN! WIN!
Don't worry, this is Adam Gase we're talking about. Only Gase can snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.
LOL, I'm one of the few who really liked Gase, but I do think he's doomed in NY ands it probably won't be competitive. Our O-line is looking solid, the secondary just played lights out and I could see this being a blowout if the same Dolphins team shows up. To me, the big thing is the repetition of scoring drives across the last three games- although we lost to Seattle, we drove down the field over and over again for field goals. The next week, we did it all over again (with mostly TD's)...that's the beginning of a trend folks and this offense is really starting to set the tone. Three weeks in a row we've walked up and down the field against pretty good teams. So even if the Jets play decent, I don't think they can match that intensity and make this a game. It's a COVID year and anything is possible, but I think we win this one convincingly to get back to .500.
I actually didnt think Gase was terrible here, in terms of coaching and not necessarily talent we acquired. His stint in NY though has been awful.
Gase is super smart and he has little patience, which will absolutely piss off about 70% of the people in the room initially. I honestly think that he's probably a FANTASTIC COACH but because he's so bad with communication, most of that gets lost in translation and his players don't respond. Many here won't get this but there's a massive difference between being a great coach and a great leader- I just don't think Gase is the latter at all. He never should have taken that GM role in NY....it doomed them from the start. I do believe that he's probably a genius with the X's and O's, but that just isn't enough when you can't communicate and get the entire team to buy in. He had that with Tannehill but I don't think him/Darnold are on the same level. At the same time though, I've always hated the Jets and haven't been able to bring myself to watch their games...despite liking Gase. It would probably be a blessing for him to get fired though because I have a feeling that the entire state of NY hates him by now.
Well he was touted as a Wunderkind, but when you actually look at his offense...his offensive rankings, either as an OC or HC, it's been ranked no higher than 25th, to include the Bronco's Super Bowl win with Peyton Manning. Those Broncos were ranked 29th in total offense! Sorry Key, I don't see that as some kind of offensive genius...I just see it as offensive! lol
