Yeah, I'd love to see a series or two for Tua once we are at least halfway through the fourth and the 9ers are not closing the score gap by anything more than a touchdown.
The thing about bringing him now is that they're unlikely to call any plays that would be difficult for him, even with Fitzpatrick in. We're talking about lots of runs and maybe a screen here or there.
SIDE NOTE - Dak Prescott with devastating injury. Looks like a broken ankle - foot was pointing the wrong way. Taken off on cart. There will be a thread in 'Other NFL'.
Our "franchise" qb can't even take a few snaps in this game? Sure guys, it doesn't mean anything. His hip is either worse than they thought it was or that he's so bad that Flores doesnt want anyone to see him and know what a horrible pick he was.
We‘ll see but there is much more to be happy about today then there has been in a long time. We win in (and destroy) SF and were competetive in all our games.
Usually teams don't leave in their starter up so much in the 4th. I guess you can make the argument that most teams do that to protect their starter but we need to protect Tua more. That said I find cutting Rosen so confusing if you are that intent on Tua not seeing any action. If he isnt ready to come in to hand the ball off up by so much, how can you justify dressing him?
The confusing part to me is why the cut Rosen to dress Tua as the #2 if they really dont want to play him yet. He is one snap away from starting full time but cant come in to hand the ball off?
Good point and I would have liked them to keep Rosen. But we still have a chance to go to the playoffs and Fitz is playing good football this far and Tua is coming from an serious injury why throw him in now?
That was an impressive performance, especially considering how badly we usually play against the Niners.
Maybe slightly over-hyping the win though, considering the Niners were beat up and had to bench their QB1...?
You throw him in exactly because you have a shot at the playoffs in my opinion for a few reasons. 1) Let's say you ARE in the hunt late, it's the second quarter of week 14 and Fitz has to leave for the game. Would you be more confident in a Tua with a little game experience or a Tua who has only watched from the sideline? 2) If you believe you can be a playoff team with Fitz you definitely dont want him playing meaningless minutes. If Tua cant come into these situations we need to have someone dress who can, I dont want to see Fitz hurt in garbage time he shouldnt be playing.
