I know its the wrong forum, but I know this is where everyone is right now.

On the pregame shows, all of the commentator were talking about Tom Brady. Brady this, Brady that, Brady Brady Brady. Told my wife, "Hey honey, did you know that Tom Brady has a 22" pen is and can impregnate 50 women in one shot?" She looked at me and said, "yea and I bet he can get the men pregnant too!" Had a great laugh. Fast forward to the game...

Well bottom line, how shall I put it? How's the new team without Belichick Tommy Boy? I know it's only the first game of the season but I did call it. I did say that Brady was going to fall flat on his face in Tampa Bay

Two interceptions by the third quarter already he might catch Fitzmagics three for the day. One was a pick 6. I personally would rather see Brady win than the Pats.

You don't figure he had a similarly bad game before at any point in his 18-year career? Why wasn't it the end for him after one of those?

The reality is Brady wasnt a QB to be feared last year and only was in spots the year before.

Expecting him to play well forever because hes Tom Brady is insane. I dont think he will be that awful all year but I also dont think hes going to be elite either.

Just wondering.. what specifically would you predict: around "average" play or "well below average" play for Brady?

The reason I ask is because from a purely statistical point of view the prediction is that Brady, regardless of team, would end up around average. That is, even with Belichick he'd be average, since that's where he was trending with Belichick. Last year was the first year he ended the season as a slightly below average QB (z-score = -0.2292), and that was after a season where he was only slightly above average (z-score around +0.4).

So my question is whether you're agreeing with the statistical prediction of "average" play or whether "fall flat on his face" means he'll be squarely in the bottom 1/3 of QB's this year, in which case it will be interesting to see who ends up right.

He's 43, and QBs tend to decline suddenly rather than gradually, so this may indeed be the end for him. However, that can't be determined with any reliability after a single game, especially with a new team and an abbreviated preseason. He's still getting accustomed to his new system and his surrounding personnel.

Amazing to me how any Dolphins fan would be rationalizing for Brady...our nemesis for 20 years and folks are defending him.

Relish that he looked like a soup sandwich today, will ya?

He's 43. He went to Tampa for 2-year payday before retiring.

That is true, and I'm not saying he cant play QB at a high level. One of the marks of aging is usually that a star player will still have certain games where they look like their prime while others they look pretty pedestrian.

I personally thi k that has been going on with Brady the last few years. Hes still a highly capable QB, I'm just not expecting him to do more than distribute the ball to talent without turning it over, which would make for a solid season.
