Black people rightfully live in fear of getting killed by cops and you’re Here talking about black men being better dads. Sorry dude, you’re just a bad person.
You're right. We have an issue where police overreact and bad things happen. But the narrative it is directed toward a certain race is simply flawed and the data doesn’t support it. But the media runs hard with it, I mean who can really name a single W guy who was unarmed and **** by the cops? And their were 19 compared to the 9 and it is the 9 that is supposed to be an injustice as opposed to the others. So their hearts are in the right place, they are just misguided on the narrative they’ve been fed. Make true change? Help inner city kids who have no family structure learn how to make sensible decisions so they don’t grow up making bad one’s that lead to few options. Help poor kids no matter the race and you can make a change. I applaud Bron for being the one who has stepped up and done a glimmer of that with the Ipromise school. All these other guy’s are outraged by narratives.
First off, not all black people are in fear of being shot and killed by police. It’s rare. And when it does happen, it’s usually to people like George Floyd and Jacob Blake. And I’m talking about important messages the NBA and other sporting enterprises can and should promote. Non political messages. Messages that far outweigh a black man being shot by an officer. Lastly screw off.
Beautifully stated. Anyone who has a problem with what I’m saying is completely misunderstanding where I’m coming from. And that’s because they are being fooled by these horrendous narratives being fed to us through the media. That’s the truth.
Use your common sense. Do you have any? Or do you let social media and the media in general do your thinking for you?
What are you even talking about? You can’t even defend your positions! Trap you? I’m seriously at a loss as to what “types of people” George Floyd and Jacob Blake are. Educate me. If I’m so misguided, guide me please.
You have no spine. Who cares if I call you a racist? You don’t even know me. You claim I’m some sort of sheep who relies on the media. Here’s your chance to educate me. What did you mean by “people like George Floyd and Jacob Blake”? If you’re not a racist, surely you can take a moment to explain how both what you meant and how you’re not a racist. Explain please. I promise I won’t even reply to your explanation. This will be a “safe space” for you if you’re afraid I’ll “trap” you.
There are tons of stories and videos that add context to why and how Floyd and Blake are dead (Floyd is dead not Blake). I never said they deserve to die. But you use that as a weapon to demonize me. You don’t want solutions, you want to hate anyone who doesn’t agree with you. Did you bother to research the facts surrounding the situations? You probably just completely ignore all rational thinking and go off pure emotion. That is wrong thinking. I feel awful for their families. Especially the children. And I’m pissed off at Blake for putting his children in that situation. Those kids will never get over that.
You’re still not giving me the “context”. You asked if I did research. I did. What research did you find that I missed? I know they both initially resisted arrest. Is there more to it than that? Educate me.
And you’re pissed off at Blake?!?! How about the cop who shot him 7 times in the back?!??? There was no imminent threat to that cop. I don’t care if Blake had a knife in his car, or even in his hand. His back was to the cop. He was trying to walk away. You don’t shoot a person for resisting arrest. You don’t shoot someone 7 times in the back for getting into a car.
Educate yourself. I’m not here to do it. I’m only giving you attention because you called me a horrible person. Instead of looking to call everyone horrible and racist you should try to understand more.
Total cop out. You have nothing to offer. I’m genuinely asking for your “context”. Maybe YOU should listen to black people and not dismiss them as “misguided”. Maybe listen to Coach Flores: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/08/28/brian-flores-i-lived-this-we-need-change/
Absolutely pissed off at Blake. He obviously has some of the worst judgement known to man and it’s overflowed and affected all of his family. You have no idea he was no threat. And neither did the officers. They weren’t willing to risk their lives hoping he was just peacefully getting into his vehicle to drive away with a warrant for his arrest. What’s more logical? The officer shot him in the back 7 times because he hates black people and he is secretly racist? Or the officer knew he was dealing with a violent felon who just fought off a taser and out wrestled 2 officers and was making his way into his car to possibly go for a weapon? He was warned about 100x NOT to go inside his vehicle with guns pointed at him. And as for the 7 shots. It’s awful. But they don’t shoot with deadly weapons as a warning. At that point it is to end the situation. You would be a dead cop lying on the ground in a pool of blood if you went into those type of situations playing Russian roulette hoping/thinking there was no need to use a firearm.
I WILL and DO listen to people like Coach Flores. And I don’t take him for anything other than a great person with something intelligent to add to the conversation.
Does any of what I said make sense to you? Or am I still just a horrible person? My goal is not to argue but to bring common sense to people reacting on pure emotion.
I’m not going to argue with you anymore. Assuming all your facts as stated are true, we still disagree.
...and your position that you have facts and others are merely emotional is patronizing and condescending.
I think it’s fair to say NBAPA doesnt want people going in there to vote for the incumbent. Do they know who Biden chose as his running mate?
Are the NBA polling machines going have the 2 options of press 1 for Biden and press 2 for Biden? Honestly I don’t even care but that’s what first came to my mind.
Those locations will attract a lot of progressives, mainly minorities. There will be NBA player presence in it, sort of like a rally. Will it make a gigantic difference in the grand scheme of things, where over 120 million ballots will be counted? Who knows. But theyre trying their best to oversee that smooth voting happens and voter suppression is at a minimum.
I think the only fair thing to say is the NBA wants people who would have difficulty voting to be able to do so. Whether they prefer one choice or another is irrelevant because it cant be enforced, people can cast whatever ballot they want. In other words it's impossible to paint as a negative.
Personally unless a gun or weapon is aimed at you, you should be aiming to immobilize the suspect not kill them. I'm pretty sure if you put a couple bullets into a leg, arm, foot, so forth the suspect will be immobilized but actually have a chance to survive/lead a seni normal life or go to prison, whatever the situation entails. If cops lack the ability to shoot to immobilize they need better training. It should at least be the first option. Obviously there will be times where it's not possible or would be a bad idea, but we needs cops that respond appropriately to different levels of resistence and agitation.
You learn this is LTC classes, what you’re suggesting is shooting to maim and is highly illegal. Firearms are lethal, therefore you only use them in situations where you have one intention, which is to put the target down. If you don’t actually fear for your life, use a non lethal method such as a taser. I’ve read that they actually tased Blake before he ran around the car. Cops usually carry 9mm or 38. One bullet will not immobilize someone. Adrenalines a hell of a drug and you hear all the time about home invaders getting shot and fleeing or even bleeding out 2 houses down. Here’s a guy recently getting shot 14 times and charging still. I just googled female cop shoots man with knife, this isn’t a channel I know or follow so if he spouts some racist crap, don’t correlate me with that lol
I’m hearing that the Pelicans are interested in Heat assistant coach Dan Craig for their open HC position. His resume is impressive. You guys know anything about him?
That would be a great opportunity for Dan Craig. I don't know much about him aside from what is already written up on Wikipedia. I think the Pelicans could do a lot worse than Craig though.
