You don't even realize that "a lot" is two words. lol... You also don't realize that you've been made to look a fool throughout this entire thread.
Legit wondering. You seem to ridicule those people. I have a friend who's gone down that rabbit hole, he's done far more research into both cosmologies than I've ever done into spherical Earth. So, while I may not agree with him, I certainly don't ridicule him, he has actually taken the time to research it, while I certainly haven't. Currently I have my faith in some textbooks that I was given as a kid.
We've actually gone to space and photographed the Earth. It's not flat. Also.. if it were flat gravity wouldn't pull us down.. it would pull us towards the center of the disk (so somewhat sideways), and the laws of gravity can be tested to extremely high precision in labs. So if a person actually researched this stuff and STILL thought the Earth was flat I would definitely ridicule that person.
Have you actually done your own research? I'll tell you it's hard to find an actual photo...not images. The original Blue Marble is pretty much the only actual photograph. Anyway, I'll tell you this, he'd trash that little argument you made. LOL. I've argued with him, with the stuff you're taught in school, and he's got answers. It's a lot harder to actually prove wrong than you think.
Are you serious? People go to space all the time. It would take a MASSIVE conspiracy, way beyond anything imaginable to get every single person that went to space or worked on space programs, or even on airplanes that fly high enough to actually see the curvature of the Earth to all agree to somehow keep quiet about the "truth" being different from stated observation. And anyone claiming they can "trash" an argument based on an extremely well tested and accurate theory of gravity is themselves so far off the deep end that it's important for society to make sure they NEVER get into a position where their inaccurate beliefs cause damage. The single most powerful argument against a flat Earth IS our understanding of gravitation. THAT trashes flat Earth period. You don't need to "research" that. You need just basic knowledge of physics. Also.. I think this is a live stream of Earth from the space station:
That's not a live actual shot. The ISS live feed never shows the night. And think about how many square miles would have to be out for there to be such giant light areas. The ISS is 250 miles up. Dude I've showed him all this same stuff.
Yeah I just checked the descriptions. You're right ISS feeds don't show the night per se, but they do show pre-recorded images of the night. Anyway, that's beside the point. The point is that many people have gone to space and have seen the Earth. And as stated before, the strongest argument is that modern physics basically makes it impossible for a flat Earth to be true given the measured gravitational forces. So your friend believes whatever he believes. But he's wrong.
Have you shown him the research on how people get so hung up on a belief that it becomes their identity?
And people believe we didn’t build the pyramids. Cosmo the Cougar and those dudes launched my faith back in humanity.
So, if you're travelling around the globe (spherical earth) you can keep going round and round, over and over again - like the ISS for example. That's well documented. But if the earth is a flat disc, how do you achieve that? What happens when you reach the edge of say, side one? Do you just magically pop up on the other side, like a teleprinter? Or is there a clone earth on the side two, where your clone traveller stays exactly equidistant from you on the opposite side, each believing that they are circumnavigating a globe? Interesting stuff. Not saying I believe it but I'm interested in how it might work.
What exactly is a "Brady denier"? Do they not believe in his existence? Do they not think he is a god? Please tell me more...
I'm beginning to agree with you that using any of your information isn't wise. Still, sometimes even a blind pig finds a nut and I would certainly like to see that happen here.
Nope. Registered here soon as Tanny got the starting job in Tennessee, and was curious to see how the Dolphins fanbase felt about Tanne as a player in general.
I think that question should be aimed towards the anti Brady individuals. They think his system makes Brady for who he is.. like placing the ball into his WRs hands. Magically. Brady is a God at the sametime as he is a scrub that is being guided by a guy with a hoodie on that had a losing record before he started coaching a 6th rd scrub.

I'm not trolling. I find it interesting how we all react with disdain and mockery towards people who believe differently, even though the vast majority of us know nothing more about the cosmos than what we were taught in school. My buddy shows me stuff about the curvature of the Earth all the time, and I can't actually refute his curvature arguments.
According to the Flat Earth Convention in 2018 it's teleportation at the edge (the Pac-Man effect lol): https://www.sciencealert.com/flat-earth-theory-pacman-world-edge Oh.. I forgot to mention: the military and telecommunications industry has to be in on this because you actually can't send a signal from one side of the (spherical) Earth to the other through a single satellite, though you could on a flat Earth. So all the extra money governments and private companies are spending on unnecessarily large satellite constellations is all to protect the "truth" about a flat Earth lol. Ridiculous. I mean.. the only reason the US military controls drones in Afghanistan from Nevada by first sending the signal via fibre optic cable to Germany and THEN via satellite is because they want to protect the real secret of a flat Earth!! Nah.. can't have anything to do with what they themselves say: no satellite can send a signal from Nevada to Afghanistan because ... wait for it.. the Earth is spherical lol.
Equating ESPN to accuracy doesn't represent research to me. Typically a limited reporting of facts embedded with a lot of hear-say and opinion. Thank you for showing me the limited level of your "research". I expected no less!
Not only that there are some that believes Australia is fake. That there is a big ice wall keeping all of the water in
From what I can tell, the Flat Earth Society is not an accurate representation of what many flat Earth believers actually believe. My buddy certainly does not believe in there being an edge you can fall off of, and does not believe in teleportation. He's shown me NASA videos where they are launching satellites attached to high altitude balloons. Look into project Loon, run by Google or someone, where they are attempting to have a constant stream of balloons in the air carrying equipment to facilitate getting internet everywhere. Why do that if you have satellites in orbit? These are things that I can't answer to my buddy. Like I said, he's been talking about this stuff for a couple years, initially I thought he'd be easy to disprove. I've used many of the same arguments that you guys are, but he has answers. He showed me a news article where the state of Ohio relatively recently hired a guy to prove that we landed on the moon. Apparently he couldn't find the actual evidence.
He definitely believes that the Antarctic shelf is the beginning of the ice wall. He also believes Australia is a real place.
Again, Id rather trust the guys thats been around the game for longer than the casual Dolphin haters that will hate him regardless.
Was just pointing out that you read the chart wrong. It is important to understand facts that are posted.
Well it is offseason lol.. OK, if you're really serious about coming up with a near fool-proof argument, use the gravitation argument because I can't see how you refute that. The theory of gravity (currently Einstein's) is extremely well established at tremendously high levels of accuracy. So first thing to check is if your friend actually accepts the theory. If he doesn't you know right there he's a nutcase and no need to continue. So if you have a flat Earth, what does the theory of gravity say about the direction of gravitational pull? It goes to the center of gravity. Unless you're right above that (vertically) you'll be able to detect with our extremely sensitive instruments that gravity is pulling you somewhat sideways. Furthermore, gravitational pull is weaker with higher altitude so you CANNOT simulate this by assuming the Earth is accelerating through space (Einstein's theory allows that equivalence, but it doesn't fit a flat Earth with the measurements we've made). In other words, the measurements of gravitational pull we've made are NOT consistent with a flat Earth. If you and/or your friend really cares about the science, go with that. This idea that you chase HIS arguments isn't a good approach. No one is expert enough to respond with proper evidence against arbitrary made-up false arguments. Science is too advanced and specialized for any person on this planet to be capable of that. Thankfully, you don't need much knowledge to refute the flat Earth idea. And since you bring up the moon hoax, same thing: find the ONE argument that cannot be refuted. In the case of the moon hoax that's really simple: we TODAY do not have the technology to fake the moon rocks. The cosmic ray bombardment you see in them cannot be faked with our particle accelerators. And as usual, whether for the flat Earth idea or moon hoax, think of how many people in different countries, disciplines have to all be in on some "conspiracy". There's no credibility to people who push such ideas. And it's dangerous for society as you can see with stuff like "vaccines cause autism" or crap like that. Anyway, focus on the most impossible argument to refute, not stuff like "photos".
