Watching him play today, I'm frustrated. He does alot on that team. He stuck around here through a couple different coaching staffs, so clearly they recognized his talent...but none of them could utilize it?? What gives?

I guess. But watching Williams play, he looks like a different player.

    Looks the same to me.

Just in an offense where his terrible vision isn't a problem

He doesn't seem to have terrible vision now. He's running patient and finding openings.

His vision looks just as bad.

He did that in Miami. He is playing in a better offense. So many weapons

The other team are so spread out trying to cover all of the weapons, there's probably holes that I could run through and I'm 50 & have never played

He wasn’t used correctly while he was here, always had very good speed, excellent quiet hands in hairy situations.

To me, Williams looked like the same guy we had a few years ago. Great speed, great hands, and makes plays after the catch. Miami has had a slew of strong runners that we let walk though so it's no real surprise.

Seems to be the story for quite a few players that leave here.

I've always been a major Williams fan. I received a lot of hate/mockery for saying he was good.. His detractors think he has poor field vision and will run right in to a pile. I disagree. In 2016 he was a great threat as a pass catcher and lit it up a few times. He had 7 total TD's that year.. For a team that often struggled to score i found it funny how universally hated he seemed.

Wish the man nothing but success and couldn't be happier for him.

Neither Philbin or Gase could handle any kind of personality on the team. Phillips is a prime example

Yeah what I thought too. But then I can't figure out why he would be kept around by multiple staffs, which is seemingly a plus for the coaches for identifying talent... But then those same coaches all just didn't use him. Like it makes no sense.

Sometimes coaches are their own worst enemy. Look at McCarthy in Green Bay and his misuse of Aaron Jones.

While I agree Williams is a good back, I’m actually not too upset with his lack of touches here. His biggest strength IMO is as a receiver out of the backfield which is how we used him primarily (He has more receiving yards than rushing yards his first 3 years here). The question is should he have gotten more carries? Tough to say when he was behind Miller, Ajayi and Drake all at different points when he was here. He actually started 4 games in his last year here after we traded Ajayi but he got outplayed by Drake.

Williams is meh. If we were going to keep a part time player I would have rather kept Drake. Neither keep me up a night.

Williams is an average back. Put a Kenyan Drake on Kansas City and he's going to the pro bowl. I hate that we got rid of both of them, but it is what it is at this point. Hopefully we draft a new running back that makes us forget all about those guys. With that said, I do root for both of them as they were former members of this team and I always pull for our former players.
