Weather Underground predicts this tropical storm to become a hurricane by Wednesday. What's your opinion Marty?
oh my sweet jesus this is just ridiculous.... looks like hanna will JUST BARELY miss south fla if we keep our fingers crossed....and now we have to watch out for ike too?! in the same week no less.....not cool.
Lets nuke it!! Seriously though, erk. Hopefully none of them hit a high cat status or just brush the coast. Lou/Texas gotten lucky so far with the fizzle of Eddie and the downsizing of Gustav. Hopefully the Fay hit areas wont take another one to quick.
Fay hit a lot of areas, and Hanna is coming right back at a bunch of them. Water levels are still elevated in my neck of the woods, and Hanna seems have a bead on us. Fortunately, I'll be fine since we're about 37 ft above sea level.
From the looks of things, you're going to be busy these next several days. It looks like Ike also has a sister, Josephine.
Funny how they are predicting Ike to head down below SoFla yet history shows otherwise. Cross your fingers
Yep, the Tropics have become a Hurricane conveyor belt all of a sudden. As a kid I used to love this time of year and hoped to get to see these things....... now as an over the hill home owner, I hate em!
what the hell is like a musical medoly of hurricanes? Hanna Montana Ike (tina turner) and Josephine (from Josie and the ***** cats) lol
Here's Charlie pointing at the current tropical storms/hurricanes to add some prespective. http://floridatoday.com/apps/pbcs.d...KINGNEWS/309020005&referrer=FRONTPAGECAROUSEL
I just read that advisory.. said no change in track, but were upgrading intensities. Ike is looking kinna scary to me here on the Treasure Coast.
Looks like we're gonna dodge Hanna here, but as far as Ike is concerned, I'm definitely worried and praying for all of you down there.
Jason..The Carolina's are the expected landfall for Hanna and she started moving north about 2 1/2 hours ago at 30 mph.
I saw on WFTV.com the projected path. Is it certain to go the way the path is projecting it? Or is there still possibilities of it shifting west onto FL?
Alen, when a storm is coming this close in vacinity to your area you never take your eye off of it bro. Weather specialists will tell you themselves that while computer models do a great job of predicting paths based on current conditions, they can change in an instant and sometimes these storms show themselves to have a mind of their own.
Ike is a concern for us here in FL. but Your certainly not off the hook at all in regards to Hanna bro. I hope it starts to curve sharply to the N.E. for you guys in the Carolinas but right now you still need to watch her.
Cat 4 now..... anything can happen still and I know that but it still gives you the willies to see a storm reach this type of intensity with it's track pointed right at you.
Yeah but with each passing day, the cone moves more and more east. I am just over the border (NE) of Savannah, GA. They were the original landfall, then us, then Charleston, and now Wilmington, NC. They say you want to be on the first forecasted track, as it always changes. I know we may not be 100% out of the woods, but watching the track move slowly east over the last few days, and finally being outside that cone of uncertainty gives me much relief.
It has curved enough now to put us just west of the cone. But yeah man, I haven't taken my eye off of it just yet.
you and me both Joe.. however, as nervous as "I" am here, I'd be pretty concerned about this if I lived in the Carolina's...
I agree. I'm not liking what I'm seeing with this forecast. The dip to the south that it will take worries me. It's also moving at a fairly good clip, so for now, I think the tracks will be very accurate.
Hmmm, that looks a lot more northern than I was expecting to see. I obviously don't want this thing to hit anywhere, but my #1 fear is for it to go through S. Fl and the pick up strength in the Gulf and then take another shot at NOLA and the oil rigs.
Can someone explain to me how HANNA reappeared on the East Coast of Florida, after it landed west of NO??? Hanna, Ike, and Josephine are silly scary following each other on satellite right now. Good Luck everybody.
Agggh, wow, total Brain Cramp....thanks....I swear, that was freaking me out, thinking it was the same one. : DUNCECAP :
Wait a minute...So Ike is NOT threatening us? here I am scared to death from these goofballs on local TV that till this day are syaing that quote: "A Cat 4 Hurricane has South Florida in it's sights." You know..somebody has to do something about this..the alarmism in the local media is getting out of hand. I thank you guys for posting this. I feel bad for you guys in the Lina's. let's hope this thing spins it wheels in the atlantic.
