    POLL.

If you can get your pick of QB's, who do you want at the helm for the Dolphins going forward - and why?

Pick your first option. Specify why, and also throw in your second option.

NOT SURE? This thread might help - 2019 College QB's

Ideally Rosen because he doesnt cost us any more investment. So hopefully he plays lights out despite the odds.

More realistically I'd like Lawrence but I dont think we can wait any extra year. So if he comes out it's probably Tua.

    Slightly left of center
With the way they are set up now they should be drafting a top prospect QB in round 1 for the next three years. One of them will be the guy, the other two will be trade bait for the next three years. Quit Effing around, go all in.

Rosen in the lead right now. I'm a little surprised by that. I know there are some who believed/believe in him, but I wasn't sure how many.

There's a lot of hype around Tua and Lawrence, Herbert was getting attention but dipped recently, and Jordan Love is slowly getting more ....love... and most recently Jalen Hurts is drawing attention. I figure those might prove to be more enticing options that Rosen.

Almost impossible not to say Rosen there because that's the best case, dream scenario where we use all those first rounders to build a dominant team.

And besides, you didn't offer Fitzpatrick as an option, so there's that. =)

I wouldnt draft any of those prospects with a top pick until further notice...

Tua and Trevor i would need to see them in pro day and the combine before being sold on them... i dont think theyre NFL quarterbacks... i wouldnt use a first round pick on them... i think its easy for people to fall in love with those two especially since ESPN has a contract with the SEC and shows clemson and alabama highlights more than anything..

Herbert im not touching... that guy is Tannehill 2.0... he has all the measurables, aint got the IT you want.. he will still be drafted probably by a team that already has an established quarterback he can learn behind.. like the Chargers or the Saints... but you dont start from scratch with him..

Jake Fromm, this guy has a lot of the measurables and is a very skillful passer.. probably the best at placing the ball at the backshoulder right now... would be interesting to see what comes of him after the combine..

Jordan Love is probably my favorite in your list... he has shown ability to make every throw, is on point on tight windows and is a dual threat. Got a bit of swagger in him, like Mahomes and Mayfield...

Jacob Eason is a guy im looking at as well that isnt on your list.. still early and only has a game under but he looked impressive.. got a feeling he will elect to stay his senior year tho if it looks too crowded at the draft pool. His is his first year starting.. but if he has a monster year and his stock is up then he cant pass on the chance.

I chose Tua, but it's a toss up for me between Tua and Love pending what happens this season. For me it's all about probability of success. I think Tua is seen by most as having the highest probability of success without having to wait an extra year for Lawrence.

I didn't watch any real film on Tua last year. A lot of the criticism against him is that he wasn't really challenged most of the time so hasn't really proved anything. Specifically the offense was very simplistic, he was too aggressive in passing and when Alabama did face good teams they struggled. There's also talk he struggled to read defences when they masked the coverage.

This year there's a new offensive coordinator and word is they're now running some NFL concepts, and in at least his first game he seemed to be less aggressive, taking what the defence gave him, and going through his reads better. Essentially, he has talent but does he read and understand the game? Can he make good choices?

This year is his chance to prove that.

I don't know that it's accurate to say Tua "didn't prove anything". He proved uncanny accuracy and anticipation. He proved sound mechanics and athleticism. I'm personally not ready to put him in that generational talent category yet, but as a prospect he will unquestionably considered a far better prospect than Rosen ever was by the consensus.

Continue to cultivate Rosen and hope can be a quality starter for a year or so, but also draft Khalil Tate. Maybe get a top front seven guy or an OL with the first.

Right now Tua. I think TL is likeliest to be the best, but Im not waiting until 2021 barring something disastrous (say, Tua staying in school and the others just sucking *** this year).

Of the 2020 QBs, Tua is easily in the lead, but the college season will go a long way.

The Ohio State kid Fields is a guy to watch too if he can light it up this year and next.

Usually agreeing with the consensus is how you can tell you're wrong though.

They need a guy to hype every year. This year its Tua, but that doesnt mean he deserves the praise. Hes basically another bust waiting to happen and it's a terrible shame we will probably be bad enough to end up with a ****ty QB.

Why is Tua a bust waiting to happen, and why doesn't he deserve the praise?

I wish I could like this post a thousand times over. We are so set to draft top prospects to build a dominant TEAM. I just pray we’re not STUPID enough to give away that advantage to roll the dice on some kid who’ll get paid millions to ride the bench. I want to draft starters who’ll make an instant impact

    Week 6 Update.

Tua stil remains in the #1 spot for me. He hasn't made any big mistakes. Still no interceptions. I've only seen one pass come close.
He's making good decisions, getting the ball out fast, his accuracy/reliability is top notch. He moves well in the pocket and evades pressure when it comes. You can ignore the YAC number because of his WR's making some incredible runs - it doesn't matter, his ball placement is very, very good. In fact, as good as his WR's are, they also need to thank Tua for throwing passes almost always where they need to be so they're off to a good start.

I'll post in the #2 thread, but right now I've got Joe Burrow/Jake Fromm in the #2 spot behind Tua.
