It’s not the worst idea but that cuts in to the cap space unless we find a 3rd team to take Capela. Center we have Mitchell Robinson who was among the block leaders and shows DeAndre like upside except with better shooting/FT shooting. And Luke Kornet as a backup/Stretch 4. We aren’t in bad shape there though we probably need a depth guy.

If someone (Maybe a team like Milwaukee who is close) would give us another pick or 2 for Capela I’d do it. But I’d have to have that lined up first

It's interesting to me that Okpala is kind of the anti-Herro (no pun intended). A lot of Herro's limitations are strengths for Okpala. Long athlete with a huge wingspan, good handle, can guard multiple positions, and finishes well at the basket. It's also interesting that he has a similar skill-set to the guy I and most Heat fans wanted at 13, Doumbouya.

That could work. Morey wants Jimmy Butler really bad. Minnesota was dumb for not taking our offer of Eric Gordon's expiring and 4 first round picks. They damn near gave him to Philly for nothing.

There’s some buzz this morning that Jimmy Butler will meet with the Heat. The rumor since the beginning of last year was Miami is where he wants to be. And while the Heat obviously don’t have the space to sign him, if that’s where Jimmy wants to be, all it takes is a sign and trade with Philly or any team with a max slot.

I would probably bet on the Warriors keeping KD at +200.

Knicks Rumor of the Day has them interested in Randle and Boogie. On a 1 and 1 deal maybe.

Look at the advanced metrics on defense. Julius Randle is often the worst player on defense. Some Pelicans podcaster went over how bad on D the Pelicans were with Julius and without. It’s crazy.

However, dude can get BUCKETS AT WILL. He’s a magnificent scorer.

IF and i emphasize the IF, the reports that the Warriors team doctors steered him wrong with his diagnosis? I see no way in hell he signs with them.

Sadly I agree with the chalk here. I bet he ends up in Brooklyn..

One scenario has GSW giving KD a 5 year max and then trading him later on.

Money for one thing. Two, if he really does want NY/Brooklyn/whatever team, it allows that team to delay the acquisition (i.e. save money while KD rehabs). The acquiring team would have to give an asset(s) but would also GSW to get something back. It would require a ton of trust on KD's part which im not sure he will have in their front office/staff. But it would also allow the acquiring team to have KD for a full 4 years assuming a medical redshirt this season. Its an interesting scenario....

And here we go...KD has officially opted out. In NY with Rich Kleinman (his business manager) evaluating FA options according to Woj.

If ANY of you call the OWNER of a NBA team the OWNER.....I will get a nod on ur behind!!

Seriously though, wtf is happening to this world..

Anyways, my expectations are to the floor on this Knicks offseason I was looking forward to. No hope in sight.

What if I’m the owner of my business, what do I call myself? Here’s where it gets really sketchy...what if I don’t actually pay my employees, but they pay me to work for us? Should I get a lawyer? lol

Adam silvers heart is in the right place I suppose.

    That ****ing crybaby?

If someone came to me and said they felt uncomfortable with me being called owner, I’d recommend they quit and wait out the non compete. Then again I’m not on a national stage with everything I say or do scrutinized by the media.

It was suggested by Silver they are referred to as "team governors" yes.....that's what he said.

If anyone insinuated they are the "owners" of the PLAYERS, I would understand and say that is whack because you can't own a person. But yes, you can own a team and literally that's what they are with 0.00 racial undertones. But yea.

I certainly believe the former but not the latter. Knicks are going to get crapped on and I can not believe Kyrie Irving was the puppet master on this. Disgusted.

How about instead of dismissing the concerns of a marginalized people, we listen to their concerns? If it is offensive to a great many, how bout you shut up and listen to their concerns?

And why all the outrage over nomenclature. Sounds pretty whiny to me. You’re not the owner of an NBA team. Why do you care so much?

Tyler Herro can do the things Devin Booker does, generally speaking.

But only if he can make shots like Devin Booker. I know it's the Captain Obvious statement of the year but the simple fact of the matter is 35.5 percent from college three and 31.9 percent from NBA three is not Devin Booker, no matter what Herro looks like in a practice workout.

But if the Heat are right about Herro's ridiculous practice prowess translating into the sort of shooting prowess you see out of a Devin Booker (remember Riley himself compared Herro's shooting prowess to Korver, Reddick, and Ray Allen), then I'm pretty sure he's got the other skills to do what Booker does.

It'll be interesting seeing Herro learn under a Goran Dragic (unless the Heat traded him), as I think there's a compatibility in their styles and particularly some things Herro can pick up about how to finish under the rim.

With regards to the "owner" thing, on the surface, to the average person, it sounds silly. We've heard the term "owner" to describe business owners all our lives, and it sounds PC to make a big deal out of it in the NBA. The problem is, there are players that feel strongly about it, and it's incredibly disingenuous for us to pretend like we can take their point of view into account when we're so far removed from the situation. Yes, these men own their respective franchises, but are we going to act like some of them don't behave like they own these young black men when you see how Donald Sterling behaved for so long, and you see the response Daniel Gilbert put out when LeBron left, along with probably countless other instances that don't get out into the public? This is a more complicated matter than just trying to be PC, and if it makes the players happy, and the league is ok with it, I really don't see why anyone should care.

If there were instances of nba team owners behaving like they own the black players on their teams, or any player for that matter, that sounds like a pretty damn big issue. Does changing their title from owner to governor change their behavior as well? Donald sterling got canned when the racist stuff came out, and rightfully so. Dan Gilbert’s letter was pretty damn ridiculous and so was Riley apparently telling LBJ he made the biggest mistake of his career for leaving Miami. But the latter two examples, I think, would be a reach to say is slave owner mentality. I’d like to think that Lebron is smart enough to not go back to Cleveland if Dan Gilbert acted that way.

Last time I checked you needed more than 4 guys on a team. It is in my team’s best interest for these guys to fail. They’re not making it hard for me.
