Oh I love it! I wanted him seven years ago! Lets get him an offensive line to throw behind. He can play and play quite well if he has time to throw!

All I can say is I hope it doesn't screw us out of that 3rd round comp pick. Yes, that's all I care about at this point. I like Fitzpatrick, and I think he can be a good QB at times, but we need to look towards our future and that means the more draft picks we can get, the better, IMO.

I love this move, my favorite journeyman in any sport, we may not be good at all next year but at least it will be fun to watch. The terrible teams with the caretaker QB's are so boring to watch. Fitzmagic is skilled enough to evaluate the talent we have too

    Bring on FITZMAGIC!!

awful signing. he'll win too many games and take us out of the tua/herbert sweepstakes, unless the plan is 2021 or 2022 for T law

Fitzpatrick kind of puts me in the mind of Matt Moore...an older player who sees the field fairly well and isn't afraid to take some chances. I'm just hoping we can keep him upright since we have several holes to fill on the line. It will get interesting anyway the next few months!

I guess we had to have someone behind center in the voluntary camps before the draft.

I wouldn't say he's exactly like Tannehill. Fitz actually is kind of the opposite. He's a gambler, a gunslinger, he can make things happen when the pocket breaks down. Tannehill was the opposite of all those things. That's not implying that Fitz is more talented than Tannehill because I don't think he is, but he's better at the things that Tannehill struggled with.

Good move. For a strict caretaker and backup, he's an engaging guy, he has some leadership, he knows his role.

IMO, he's the type of QB you sign if you expect to have a rookie on the team.

Tanking is a double edged sword though. It's one thing to see if Falk has anything ... but if he doesn't and we don't have any other options for semi-consistent play, how well can we judge offensive talent?

As bad as anyone says he is. He is by far the best qb on our roster as of now. Whatever that means.

I love it. Wilson, Stills and even Parker could have a big year. I'm expecting we will probably draft Will Grier or Drew Lock and have Fitz to be a mentor. Cant wait for the Fitzmagic fights!

I really like that this staff is not falling into the loser mentality. Seriously, who wants to lose to the Pats, Jets and Bills twice this season?

    St. Patrick's Day surprise!!

Me, because i dont care about this season, i care about the next 10-17 years. cool we have a QB that will win us too many games to get a franchise QB now. Hope youre happy with beating the jets bills and maybe pats 1 time this year, and having no hope for the future bc the stop gap QB was too good.

Nothing is guaranteed. We could tank this year and Tua decides to stay in Alabama another year or whoever you think is "that" guy tears an ACL or whatever. My opinion always has been go try to win and if there's a QB you want just spend what it takes to get him.

Whoa. Slow down there, partner. 10-17 years? 17 years? I'll take one good year with a post season appearance with signs that things are being built the right way and in a sustainable way. S--t, I may be fertilizing daffodils in 17 years. Wtf? :chuckle:

Ummm...you said we need to get a line and that Fitz can play well behind a good line.

    That's ****ing Tannehill.

I am curious to see how Caldwell works with him and if he can simmer him down a little bit. As with Matt Moore, I like the edge Fitzpatrick brings, but just like Moore, Fitz gets himself in trouble by trying to do too much. IMO, if he can stay within himself and the system, he can be dangerous. I think we are out of the running next year for the top QB's, but I am also with Travis and think Jake Fromm could end up being our guy. From what I know today, I think I would be okay with that.

I just see this as a "that figures" type of situation. There has been so much talk of building the interior areas of this team (mainly the offensive line). I can see this going very well for Fitzpatrick...Stop gap QB that has proven to be able to play well and win games, all of a sudden we load up in the draft on offensive lineman and out of nowhere he has the offensive line Tannehill always dreamed of having during his tenure in Miami. So yeah, I was being sarcastic, but more towards the situation. Like Hell yeah...Awesome....
On a side note, I do think Fitzpatrick is going to do things for us that Tannehill just could not ever do. Again man, I am not saying he's more talented, but he's going to surprise us....For a few games lol.
