If he does and any fan root for him I’m all aboard banning their sorry asses! You go to the enemy you are the enemy! I still dont like Jason Taylor for ever wearing that ****ty uniform!
Armando Salguero reported that his sources told him Gase was done with Tannehill in December and was ready to find another QB heading into this season..
Gase was in finger pointing “not my fault” mode in December. He was trying to blame his failures on Tannehill. He is a joke to me.
I've guessed he'd be a Patriot or a Jet all along. And for the record, I never said we'd get a 3rd rounder for him (if those "quotes" that didn't quote anything referred to me). I did expect him to have some trade value but when you leak in December he's definitely being cut, why would anyone pay his $17M contract price? I think the Fins completely shot themselves in the foot here- if they shopped him early last season when he won 10 of 11 in a row, someone would have paid handsomely. The formula changes when he plays hurt behind a turnstyle line to end the year. He would have been more valuable on the bench for the last half of the season. Plain and simple, when you watch the film from those last few games and see him getting slaughtered in the pocket, it's impossible to pay his contract price. That's not to say that he isn't still "starting quality"....he's just had a bad run up to free agency. To me, the correct move is to keep him and let him start/compete one more season. Those saying he's definitely gone aren't looking at the math- you'd pay more to cut him and grab a so-so starter (AKA, worse than Tannehill) than you would to keep him.
I don't really see the point in cutting him this year if they don't draft a QB. With the dead money ramifications it seems that we would pay him for one more year as this is a long term rebuild. It's not like they're signing high priced free agents and need the cap room.
Here is what we have to remember and consider. Brian Flores and his staff watched and game planned against Ryan Tannehill like 12 times. So IF in his mind he was a victim of circumstance then at the very least I think he would be asking for just a pay cut. The fact that as far as we know he isn't even in the discussion, speaks volumes about how this staff feels about him......and they are very familiar with him.
That tweet by Barry is exactly what she bunch of us have been saying it seems like every season. Hahaha
...but we don't know that. All Flores has said is the typical political answer- if he's still on the roster, he's under consideration. We all know that's BS but it doesn't automatically mean he's definitely 100% gone either. To me, that's the media trying to make stories out of nothing. And before folks say that it was leaked months ago that he was definitely gone, that has to be taken with a grain of salt as well. It's clear the team is dumping veterans and clearing salary cap space, but they're also still going thru the process of watching film and figuring out what they have. As I've said 100 times already, I'd prefer to move on from Tannehill. But at the same time, it has to be a smart football decision and what's best for the team. The one thing I've said consistently for months now is, "If it's not RT behind center....then who is it?" We HAVE TO have that answer before we can cut the guy loose, and so far we've struck out on Foles, Bridgewater and a few other names (it's reported that we were recruiting those guys....but who knows for sure?). Every name we cross off the list makes it more likely RT is indeed starting in 2019. After all, if we did intend to start Falk all along, then why are we chasing QB's in free agency? And why haven't we cut Osweiler yet? The two statements don't add up. The only thing folks saying RT is definitely gone have in their favor is that we can't technically cut him yet as a post June 1st designation. That alone doesn't tell me it's a definite thing though.
Happy we won't have Taylor as our QB, but I don't want them to overpay for Bridgewater either. I am okay with one of our young guys taking the helm next year. No need to screw up our comp picks. We might need them to trade up for our franchise QB.
I think he is 99.9% gone. All signs seem to point to that. I guess at that point my theory will sound more true.
Bridgewater to the Saints may not be a done deal: https://www.profootballrumors.com/2019/03/dolphins-teddy-bridgewater-saints
Yeah, I think he is too...it just frustrates me when folks recite media rumors like it's the gospel. It does sound like we're back in the running for Bridgewater (remember, the news yesterday was that was a done-deal with the Saints, and that was coming from the same geniuses saying RT is definitely gone). But if we do strike out and can't make moves in this year's draft, I wouldn't be shocked to see RT still in Miami. I'm not expecting it, but I wouldn't be surprised either.
This is stupid. Taylor at 26mill. Is Bridewater any better than Tannehill? He's going to cost more then just paying Tanny this year and not having dead money next year. What's the point of Bridgewater?
If there wasn’t enough evidence already, The fact that bridewater is in the building should signal his last few fans, let it go.
But gross.....Teddy Bridgewater is just not a good QBs in my opinion. I suppose we aren’t going to find a good starter anytime soon anyways so why the hell not.
That’s not even a question for me concerning him. Stay there and collect a nice check and enjoy a winning culture
I don't think that the Saints actions should send any signals to Miami. They're a Super Bowl contender with an old QB, and need insurance in case Brees goes down for a few games. That's a vastly different situation than the Fins, who are starting over from scratch.
Good! I hope it stays that way. No need to force it for the season we most likely will have anyway. People are raving about the Browns. Yes, they are fortunate to be able to make the deals that they have and get a legitimate #1 WR in Beckham. However, it all started when they got Mayfield last year and he proved he is the MAN in Cleveland. If they needed a QB this year, the deals they just made probably would not have happened because they would need those picks. I am hopeful, but not totally confident, our FO understands this. We have been kicked in the nuts before, so I am a little leery and nervous when we make any moves.
