I don’t think much they all know we don’t want him. I suspect though we may ride one more year with him tbh that would be crazy but this is Miami

Yeah, but you're saying that as a fan, not as a coach or a GM. Tannehill has all the physical tools, he's the most loyal guy you'll ever find, he's a coach's dream player with his work ethic and dedication....all that plays into it as well. Teams know that if they bring him in, RT will give them exactly what they're asking for.

I think GM's know Tannehill is at best average and has little to no upside. I said weeks ago I could see the Jaguars being interested, but that's only if you consider Tannehill in isolation. Foles is out there, and I think even an underperforming Flacco would be more enticing to them. As Dorfdad said teams know we don't want him. So I doubt we get much for him, if at all anything.

Besides, it would be great if all we end up doing is unload his contract. We don't even need draft picks in return.

Tannehill would be a great backup for some team. I don't believe there is a starters market for him but I suppose there could be. Foles on the other hand is Super Bowl winning MVP quarterback. He is worth substantially more money. Like it or not QB's get paid big money these days. He will get 20 Million a year minimum. Whether he can have success on another team or not remains to be seen but I think its going to be largely dependent on which team that is.

Foles will not be in Miami next season. He is going to be able to choose where he plays next and it's not going to be a team in a rebuilding mode like Miami will be. The logical choice for Qb for us is Bridgewater. He will likely be 10-12 Million a year. And no, I'm not saying he is all that because he is not. We just need a guy to helm the ship for a year or two while this thing gets put back together. Tyrod Taylor is another that would be the same type guy as Bridgewater.

I don't think I trust in Foles enough outside of that Philly offensive system. For $15 million/year, I'd roll the dice, but not $20+ million/year. I think Jacksonville could find the cap space and has a lot of pieces in place already.

If they are serious about drafting a QB in 2020, then roll with a cheap vet like Fitz and a young guy like Fales. Even better, trade your 2019 first rounder and get another first and change for the 2020 draft. If Miami can get into the top 3 picks, they should come away with a potential franchise QB.

I personally am still sold on the idea of bringing in a guy like Bridgewater, Fitzpatrick or Taylor and drafting Easton Stick in a later round. I think the guy is great and at worst he is going to make a capable backup. If he can come in and sit behind a vet and not have to start, come in during garbage time, maybe a start or two at the end of the year, in a season we may have solved the Qb problem here. And if it doesn't work out well with him you can draft Tua or someone the following year.

Heck I think it's worth a shot. He will be playing in the East West Shrine game this weekend and I will be watching closely.

Foles is Tannehill is the sense that they both need an elite team to thrive. Nick Foles has only played well in Philly and we have nowhere near their talent so there's no point.

Foles has shown the ability to rise above his normal limitations and play at an elite level though. He made some incredible throws during a Super Bowl run and got the Eagles into the playoffs again when they had been left for dead. The past two season he has done things that I can't imagine Tanny could ever pull off even if they had the same exact team around them.

I'll agree that he is the anti Tannehill in that he steps up in big games but he has only ever had success in Philly which does not bode well for teams expecting him to play to his Philly level.

You meant he’s only not played good in the dumpster fire that was STL.

So basically he only drives well when all things go exactly right. Sounds a lot like Tannehill

I literally said he was Tannehill. Except Foles comes up in big spots.

Just like Jimmy G lead the 49ers to 5-0 in the dumpster fire that was the 49ers in 2017. Like how Mayfield lead the Browns to 7 wins after they won 1 game the previous 2 years.

Some QB's need more help than others. Foles just like Tannehill needs more help than what we can offer.

Jimmy G is coming back to earth.
We will see if Mayfield will continue to be good or if he will fall back when the defenses really look over the tape

Mayfield had 27 TD's in 13 games on a team that won 1 game in 2 years and he did it as a rookie. He's already the best QB the Browns have had since they came back in 1999 even if he does regress.

I am not saying that he didn't have a good rookie year.
However to be the best he will have to do it more than one year. Is he the future or the next Derek Alexander.
Let's wait until the Browns are actually back to be back.
Their record was only a tie better than Miami last season

Sorry, but Foles has proven himself on the NFL's biggest, brightest stage. He gets more benefit of the doubt that Tannehill does. It's not even close.

He's a system QB, not an "elite team" dependent one.

You're talking about 8 out of every 10 QB's. It's not earth shattering news and shouldn't deter a team if they have the right offensive coaches.

I said this before, but he's a Jag. He's following Defilipo so it's pointless to talk about him IMO.

That franchise is such a dumpster fire he IS already the best QB they've had in the last 20 years.

Their record may have been only a tie better than Miami but their record was an improvement over what they've seen since 2007.

And at 2007 people thought they were going to rebound and they sucked again.

I am not saying that they are going to suck. However we should just wait to say that they are and Mayfield is a good quarterback until they actually come back and Mayfield had more than one good season

I dont want Foles. The team that drafted him traded him away after a remarkably good year. He tanked with his new team and went back to the Eagles that dont seem to want him.

I couldn't believe last Sunday and said if Foles leads them to a win, no way Philly cant retain his massive contract even as a backup.

Truth be told, I think Tannehill would be just as good as Foles in Philly. If I'm Tannehill, that's where I'm going with massive incentives on playing time, because Wentz seems like he'll struggle with health issues. The Eagles need a great QB insurance policy. They should've been in the NFC playoff game.
