I loved seeing Gronk realize, oh ****! he’s coming my way, and then seeing Drake beat his *** to the end zone!! LOL!!
It wasn't a kickoff or anything. They showed Gase and Tannehill before the play drawing something up on the call sheet. It's an offensive thing more than it would be special teams. It was a pass play
Yes. You are correct! I was busy on my phone typing on here and I got mixed up between the plays. My mistake. I suck at multi-tasking! It was Gase. Sorry about that!
Lamar Jackson is getting x-rays. If he's out, Ravens are DONE. Dolphins chances of playoffs really go up.
Ive watched that play 50 times already. Ted Larsen gets a ton of **** from fans, and rightfully so with his play majority of the time. But that play doesn't happen without him. He hustles down the field on that play and makes a block that springs Drake towards Gronk. Great effort!!!
I honestly thought we could get a quick fifteen yards out of bounds and then have about 2 seconds and have tannehill launch a prayer. This worked out even better
Pretty decent game overall, still have no desire to retain either Gase or THill, but a win over the Pats is always fun - even more so on a ridiculous play like that. I will be even more thrilled if this causes them to miss out on the bye and HFA. Without those factors, they are definitely much much much more vulnerable. **** those *******s, may Brady's leg detach itself.
Yeah for me the threshold has always been playoffs or out, at least for Gase. But if he gets in the playoffs.. definitely keep the man! I'm not convinced Tannehill is going to turn into a true franchise QB even after this really good game of his, but one does have to give credit where it's due: after today's game Tannehill's rating for 2018 is 105.68 which is 11.4 points above the league average of 94.3. Best he's done before (in 2014 and 2016) is about 4 points above average so this is something we haven't seen.. but season isn't over yet. We'll see though. I'll have to eat massive crow if somehow Tannehill stays 10+ passer rating points above league average.
With all the **** this season, how can anyone still be against keeping Gase? Especially if he gives up play calling..
As HC he should get himself a new DC.. AND he should give up play calling. Those two things might totally change the guy's fortunes.
Yeah so I just found out we won after I turned it off. I guess I didn't expect the backwards lateral miracle to be pulled off today.
btw.. I think someone should coin this game "Miracle in Miami" or something like that. I get that it wasn't as important as the "Music City Miracle" since that was a playoff game, but this is similar in that you had a lateral pass for a TD at the end of the game. And at the very least it would counter the "Monday Night Miracle" a bit (the biggest shock I've sat through as a Dolphins fan last 20 years I think).
I need to preface this by saying that I am old as dirt. In the AFC East I still hate Buffalo and the Jets more than the Pats. I fully get that fans 35 and under have lived more than half their lives in a Belichick/Brady dominated NFL. I guess the difference is we haven't been challengers to their dominance during their run. The Kelly/Thomas Bills ripped our hearts out 7 or 8 seasons in a row. Those Dolphin teams were flawed, but 13 made every game winnable. I hate the Jets just because **** the Jets.
lol.. I was just thinking about creating a wikipedia page to "Miracle in Miami" to make it semi-official, but someone just did that: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_In_Miami_(2018) Smart. The label will now likely stick around more. Oh.. that wiki page is nice in that it references the "River City Relay". Didn't know about that one.
Just been watching the end of the Steelers and Raiders game, and the Steelers just used a lateral pass to Juju to let him break down the outside to get into field goal range. Granted theirs didn't turn out as well as ours did! But, can someone explain to me why we don't see more lateral passes if they can result in game changing plays like this? Great win for our Dolphins today. Let's hope they can finish the season strong and sneak into the play offs!
Lateral passes by the WR's, if dropped, are fumbles. It's high risk. Best to do it behind the line of scrimmage. So stuff like what we did today are generally reserved for desperation plays.
Honestly I've always asked myself the same question. There's the obvious answer that laterals can easily turn into fumbles. But, IMO, if laterals were practiced with regularity and used sparingly (but more often than they are normally used) and in the right situations, huge plays can be made with relatively low fumble rates.
Considering Dan Fouts was tne QB for The Chargers for the Epic in Miami I really hope he mentioned that in his commentary on the final play.
I’m with you, I hate the Jets and Bills more than the Patriots. I just hate Patriots fans. Always nice to them though.
I walked away from the TV telling my wife we lost almost at the exact time her telling me we won. What a great day!!!!!!!!!!!!!
