Yup, he is throwing extra sh it against the wall so there is more chance some of it will stick. Most everyone likes to diss on Mando, but Omar is at least equally messed up. IMO.
HEY! He is a highly paid professional journalist with the Dolphins beat, he knows more then us, we only cut Davis to renegotiate his contract.....
In terms of quality of content, I think I have to say Omar is the worst. His only saving grace is that he's been prolific this summer and it at least gives us something to talk about, even if its just how wrong he is. Hyde, Mando and others at least occasionally have some useful information an insights. Omar doesn't seem to have the connection syet to actually get useful information. He's speculating just like we are, but I think we're actually following things more closely. Its questionable that he's even watching the games.
Hey Boomer, how are you? Yeah, Omar Kelly comes out with some questionable stuff. I much prefer Barry Jackson from the Miami Herald, his Florida Sports Buzz column.
Dolphins | Waterboy and Mascot could be released Thurs, 28 Aug 2008 12:54:11 -0700 Omar Kelly, of the South Florida SunSentinel, reports Miami Dolphins Waterboy and Team Mascot may not make the team's final roster.
Anyone can run through drywall between the studs. I would have been MUCH more impressed if he would have punched through a spot with a 2x4 stud behind it. I still like him though, I just wish he could produce.
I have no love for any of the Miami Media in regards to how they report on the Phins. What happened down there? Is it that way with the media in all the other NFL cities?
No because in other cities, their media actually roots for the home team. In Miami, the Phins are the enemy, because most of the writiers are NY Jet or NY Giants fans.
Not in San Diego. it's the opposite. Homer'ville. Not 100% homers, but they see everyting in a positive light.
I think the media here loves the Phins, thery're just VERY cynical. Its a town thats come to expect nothing less than perfection beacuse...well, because they were perfect at one time.

I can remember times when sell outs @ the stadium were no problem. I remember the media being giddy about our Phins. It seemed to change around the ushering in of the Jimmy Johnson era, and has gone drastically down hill since then. Maybe the personality of the HC has a lot to do with how the media perceives the team. I don't know, but I'm really sick of the media grilling our team. Thank God for the Internet and this site, and the others that keep us current on what is really happening with the team.
That's the atmosphere I enjoy, jdang. Our football teams are for us to enjoy and critique. But to hammer them like the Miami Media does is beyond reason. The "Third Estate" was once something we all could trust, not so much anymore. I do not receive any print media in my home now.
Quite frankly, we deserve it. This franchise was run horribly for the better part of ten years with incompetent personell decisions, headcoaches who were way over their heads and one who had said head right up in his own arse. The thing is: The same media that's grilling the team does so only in hindsight. When Saban came in, they instantly elevated him to something close to a god-like idol, the messiah sent to lead the tribe of the Dolphins to the holy land. Two years later, he was the antichrist. The same media that's raving about Parcells' no-nonsense, I'm the king of Dolphinland approach now celebrated Cam's oh so friendly good guy mentality a year ago and sold it as a much needed alternative to Saban's nicktatorship. Not a single on of these guys has the guts to give an honest opinion. New FO rolls in, new FO rocks. Old FO fails, old FO was doomed to begin with, we just couldn't tell you all the things we're telling you right now because if we did, old FO wouldn't have liked us so much. It's pathetic really. And kind of funny, come to think of it ... the same guys who were predicting superbowl two years ago and at least the playoffs last year finally caught up with it and talk about a 4-12 season now that we'll probably field the best team we've had for a rather long time.
Putting a little thought to it; it's all about perception. We have access to blogs written by the same people that write for the major media in south Florida. In their blogs they give unedited opinion and allow their bias to carry over. In their sports columns, their editor is at least weighing in whether what they write might cause the paper to suffer. It's very difficult to make that distinction most of the time for me. When I read their blog, I see it as the paper they represent. As far as I'm concerned, it's a sports team they are reporting on. It just ain't as crucial to me as it would be if they were reporting on government corruption. I don't mind critique, but the constant hammering and nit picking on individual players makes me sick. I don't believe I've ever seen the media attack a player like they have John Beck. IMO, they seem to be doing their best to run the boy out of town. I became a fan of Chad Pennington when he told the NY press where to stick it. I wish John Beck would do the same.
Ron, there was no question in my mind. You and I share the same attitude toward many things. "Get correct views of life, and learn to see the world in its true light. It will enable you to live pleasantly, to do good, and, when summoned away, to leave without regret." Robert E Lee
Marv was the first player to win 4 Super Bowls and seems like it was some years before anyone else reached or passed him
