Very few bright spots! I expected better. I think I need to evaluate my evaluations of this coaching staff.

You can't get rid of your best players and expect to be better somehow, no matter how many people on this forum try to convince themselves otherwise

Gase is going to be uncomfortable...as he should be. I think this is a bad football team. But we'll see. I hope I'm wrong.

Chase Allen is a liability in coverage. Ryan Wilson is destroying them.

Same ol Dolphins...:king: All 3 QBs for Bucs led TD drives. The Fins are just what a team trying to get a jump on PS needs.

I think that's the dominant reasoning behind Vegas saying we'll probably win only 6 games or so this season – losing key players. Maybe it's a too simplistic analysis, but in the end the question is whose prediction is more correct: Vegas or many posters here predicting a winning season. We'll see.. not easy to beat Vegas!

For the record I have trouble predicting 6 or fewer wins this year when we had 6 wins without Tannehill, so I'd definitely choose the "Over" (actually on many sites it's 5.5 predicted wins so if you think we're likely to win 6 you'd choose the "Over"), but I don't see a winning season this year.. just more of the same bouncing around average we've had for too long.

If that actually happens, Gase needs to be fired. He's got HIS team now so it's either 9 or more wins or I'm in favor of finding a new coach. And I really really hope Gase gets 9 or more wins (we really need stability at HC).

Still concerned about not drafting a QB high.. man.. that gamble better pay off.

Eh, i am not sure how game 1 of the preseason would be any indication of what the season will look like, i think the past two seasons and the fact that we havent added much talent and possibly are the least talented team in our division, that would be indication of what’s to come next season.

We are relying on a lot of young guys on defense to lead us, and our offense is what it is, we arent exactly fielding top flight receivers out there then again we havent since brandon Marshall..

Preseason optimism lasted all of one drive on offense and defense. Good news is they can only get better.

Ronde Barber said of their 3rd string QB..."there will be tougher tests".

Uh yes. It will not get any easier at anytime I Griffins career than it was tonight.

For those who didn't get to see the game tonight (myself included), the NFL Network is playing it Saturday at 6:30 AM.

For those wondering...yeah...that's the very last game being shown this week. The feature game live in most areas is Cleveland of all teams...I guess they think we're worse! Anyway, let's all get our Cheerio's ready for that 4:30 AM tailgating!

Many people were fussing over his penalties, presnap particularly. The guy played 850+ snap counts (while dominating none the less). Meanwhile if you take someone like Godchaux who had only a few less penalties, but realized he only got 500 snaps, you then understand we're going to see inflated issues with less production behind it.

Pop quiz: Guess who had tonight's first defensive presnap penalty?

    Let me just say this...

It dont matter how bad Osweiller looks this preseason, he will make the roster and will be Tannehills backup. We have learned about Gase’s stubborness with Cutler and he will behave the same with Os.

Its Fales vs Petty for the third spot, if we decide to carry three quarterbacks that is. Either way, neither will be unemployed for long after they're waived.

You’d think we just lost the Super Bowl reading thru this thread.

Our starters played all of one drive tonight. One. Let’s calm down a bit eh? It’s preseason. Week one.

I’m not saying we’re gonna win the super bowl here lol. But let’s try and keep in perspective what tonight.

That being said. I’m really concerned by the lack of depth at qb

Tanny looked good, although that last throw to Amendola could have been thrown a tad better. Still pretty damn close. Was upset Gesicki didn't get many looks but we should be seeing much more of him later on. The dline was predictably porous. Linebackers, did they play at all tonight? Fitzpatrick looked like he was getting better the longer he was out there. He's gonna be a Houdini popping out of nowhere in the backfield, I can't wait. Senorise Perry looked solid running it tonight. None of the other backups really stood out but I checked out sometime in the 3rd quarter. Anyone else worth a second look?

If that’s true Gase needs to go. No more excuses it’s seems no matter what we do that first year of a new HC we turn things around than start fading back to mediocrity. Gase gets no more free rides from me he elected to stay with Ryan, ring in Brock and Fales so I don’t want to hear any excuses he picked this team and he will probably pay for it since they won’t win 8 games

I think we all know this is just preseason. But I think we also all know how mediocre the Dolphins have been last decade and half, with the exception of a year or two. So maybe the proper perspective is that statements like "it's just preseason" in past years haven't really put things in proper perspective, which is our continued mediocrity in the regular season.

This fanbase has a right to complain.. I don't care if it's offseason, preseason or regular season. I think that should change only if we make the postseason.

I'm far more concerned with the defense than the offense. T hill looked good blowing the rust off.

Now i know the defense was pretty vanilla but they really did not look good. I try not to put much stock into much in the preseason aside from the third game but I was not thrilled.

    Slightly left of center
Its different in this generation of the NFL.

This is the first time full contact in full pads in real time NFL type football has happened. They don't practice in full pads and full contact anymore. 1st preseason game now is a full contact scrimmage

Judging simply from the highlights, it looked like there was a lot of confusion/missed plays from Jerome Baker and Stephone Anthony on some of the first half's defensive series. That includes poor run fills and a blown coverage assignment. The defensive line did not help, didn't seem like anybody was getting any hands on runners to slow them down at the LOS. That's going to make it hard on your linebackers.

On the Peyton Barber TD, was Minkah supposed to fill on that play sooner? It looks as if Stephone Anthony shot in and then promptly got washed out.

The right side of the oline looked lost on the McCoy sack, especially Eric Smith.

On the Fitzpatrick scramble for the 1st down, Andre Branch does not keep contain.

On the Ronald Jones TD, Baker does not get enough in run support, Malveaux gets worked to the outside. Both Malveaux and McTyer, and Baker and Anthony occupy the same spot through this play. To me, this TD was on Malveaux and Baker, though Anthony did not help.
