Well im glad Bess has grown on sparano, because he's kind of grown on me too. Theres no doubt the kid can play. You dont put up the kind of numbers he did in college without having some talent. Sure some may say it was becauseof the system, but come on... the guy still had to run his routes, still had to get open, still had to catch the ball. Thats what he does best, is catch the damn ball. The guy barely drops anything, which is something this team really needs. Im really hoping he makes this roster. I like what he can bring.

    Wow, Freestyle..that's bordering on a man-crush ! LOL

Seriously, Bess is just one of those guys that 'stick out'...you can't not notice him when you watch him in the lineup...I even found myself specifically watching him when he was in the lineup, even if the ball wasn't going his way...He's shown too much to make it thru waivers tho...so I hope he makes the squad....Foster stands a much better chance of making it thru waivers and back onto the PS...

I hope he makes the 53, if he is placed on the PS I am pretty sure someone will claim him. So far this has been a great draft and he is one of the bright spots and a pleasant surprise. For those fans who were wanting a good receiver in the draft, it looks like they got their wish.

I don't think he would even make it through waivers to be put on the PS. This kid has some nice skills that will only get better with time and coaching. I believe he makes the final roster, easily!

Well with "Mr. Invisible" (Ernest Wilford) making no impact at all I'd think he'd be a likely keeper...

Guys I think there is no question of Bess making the squad. Its now down to if Wilford will make it...he is the bigger question mark.

I would seriously look into another team's WR situation and try to pry away a quick WR to complement our guys rather than Wilford. Dump him, forget the signing bonus.

Samie Parker was the odd man out in Denver, but I'd look into him. It was a very tight race in Denver and Darell Jackson is the fifth receiver right now.

As good as Bess has been, Wilford has been that bad, it like they switched talent or something, and the real pity is, with Wilford's huge contract, we will miss out on either Foster or Armstrong as there just is not room for 6 wr.

Bess had a nice return against KC, he has shown far more then Jayson Foster has.

Jaj, Samie Parker was picked up today. I don't recall the team though.

Really like Bess. He impressed me a lot at Hawaii as well. He runs crisp route and has good hands. What really impresses me is that he goes after every ball like its his last. In the Tampa Bay pre-season game, the ball was clearly out of bounds and he had no shot of bringing it in bounds but he still dove after it, trying to make the catch. Gotta love that. I think that he will be our third or fourth receiver, pending on Wilford's future.

Regarding Foster, I didn't think he would be anything more than a PS guy when he came in and it looks like that right now.

Found this interesting. I think it will be Chad Henne as the backup. I'm really torn on Henne being a backup because I worry about him possibly having his confidence take a hit if or when he replaces Chad in a regular season game. But on the other side of this, he seems very comfortable in the pocket. He takes hits, puts the ball in the air and on the money despite the contact. He just looks so comfortable and I think a big reason of that should be credited to him playing at Michigan, in front of the large crowds.

In the last pre-season game, I didn't get to watch it but I saw some brief highlights and I noticed John Beck was in the game at the end. He didn't seem to do much. The fumble was credited to the Center on the play and it clearly should have been imo. Anyways, I think that he will have to see how Beck does. I don't recall seeing McCown in the last pre-season game. If the team keeps three Quarterbacks, the third one may very well end up being John Beck. Then again, he could end up keeping all of them as he mentions later in the report.

I think the key words in the comment were "roster flexibility" and I think thats what this experiment boils down to. The team will look at every possible option of moving players around to contribute in different positions in different situations. The Roth experiement has worked out well thus far and I think we may end up seeing Merling at the LOLB spot in the future. When that happens? No clue but it could happen this year if Holliday starts playing very well. I originally thought that Merling could play at the linebacker spot but wasn't sure of their plans with him.

I think Ryan and Peele have to start worrying after they have been labeled as "everybody else." I never saw much of Ryan other than the camp reports and a couple plays in the pre-season. I recall Ryan dropping a wide open touchdown in one of the training camp blogs and then I remember him dropping a pass from Henne against Jacksonville. From what I have seen and read, I am not impressed with him. As for Peele, I like Peele. He's a good blocker. I've heard many things since he came over from SD. Chargers fans were not pleased with his departure as they felt he was a very versatile tight end. The thing that has been brought up earlier this off-season with Peele is his contract. I don't know the exact figures but I have read that he his making a lot of money for a backup. Whether that plays into the decision of keeping him or not, I don't know.

I really think that Wilford may be in danger of getting cut. I know he was a free agent acquisition but he hasn't looked that good out there. He's been "invisible" at times and has dropped balls. I keep thinking that he will stick because of his experience but right now and I think that he will improve come regular season, I'm not sure if that will be enough at the moment. Camarilllo is still there and he's a good route runner with good hands, Bess is almost a lock on this roster and then they like Armstrong from what I hear. On the last depth chart, the way I looked at it, Wilford was the slot. I don't think that was correct but maybe they have confidence in him to improve come regular season.

i wouldn't compare Bess to McDuffie just yet, but he needs to get some playing time with the starters (and against the other team's starters) before i'm going to really get judgements going on this guy yet. so far he's just played near the end of the games with the 2nd and 3rd stringers.

on the other hand, why is Wilford still here? he's a waste of space. i hope we don't keep him just because we paid for him.

I think Bess makes the team because Sparano has felt him so many times Tony should be charged for molestation.
