PFT is reporting that Chad Johnson has a torn labrum. The initial report was that he had a sprained shoulder but it looks to be more serious. If he was to have surgery on the shoulder, it would end his season. However, Johnson says that he has been lifting his normal weight in the weight room and is doing fine. He says he'll be back for the season opener after telling Bengals.com "everything is normal." Ouch. You think this guy has gone off the deep end now, imagine if he has to watch a full season of football!! Hope to see this guy on the field, say what you say, but he loves playing the game.
I certainly hope CJ returns to normal and plays. I drafted him early after all those trade demands dropped his stock.
Check this guy out....for all his antics, he is a die hard player. Others should take note. Especially after all the fuss about wanting to leave the Bengals, he still chooses to play through the injury when any man could've had surgury and no one would have said anything. The guy may be a headcase and a braggart but he brings it every game and every year. If the NFL didn't decide to crack down on fun, there would be no issue. CJ's never had any arrests or drug use in the past. He's just having a little fun while putting out 100% just like Usain Bolt was in the Olympics.
I just had surgery for a torn labrum. It was a real minor thing really. I could still do things like play softball,catch footballs, bedroom sports(), etc. I think he still can play despite the injury(if it's not too severe) judging from his insistance that he'll be playing. However if the shoulder continues to "pop out" of the socket they may re-evaluate the injury. Right now the best thing he can do is some physical therapy to strengthen the rotator cuff (which holds the shoulder in place)to minimize the chances of that happening.
If he can still play, then it's not a big deal. Good thing, too. I have him on at least one fantasy team.
I agree 100%. Regarding the off-the-field issues, I can only recall one that he had and nothing came out of it. He was questioned in a murder a couple years ago. Before Oregon State though, a different story lol. He's came so far in maturity, etc.
I remember that but yea nothing came out of it and police question people all the time. As long as CJ didn't have anything to do with it, there's no fault on his behalf.
I just saw on ESPN's bottom line that the bengals are calling teams offering Rudi Johnson for a "legitimate receiver." I would take a 3rd (heck even a 4h) for Wilford, lol.
I'd take a new waterboy for Wilford... Unfortunately for the Bengals, they're offering the wrong "receiver" named Johnson.
I can't see them getting much. Only team that needs a Running Back is Houston and they like Steve Slaton a lot. If they do move Johnson, he could go there for Kevin Walter. Texans like Walter a lot but they have Andre' Davis there and Jacoby Jones who could be a good slot for them. He may be coming off injury though so I don't know. I find it hard to believe they will find a "legitimate" receiver and a suitor for Rudi. They still have two guys there who can be productive in Houshmanzadeh and Chris Henry. Problem with Henry is that he's missing the first four games of the regular season. Jerome Simpson has made some plays in pre-season so he could start if they don't find anything. The only reason they are shopping is because Rudi hasn't been healthy in over a year. I think its a big risk if they move him considering Perry may not be healthy the whole season and I don't know about Watson. He filled in nicely last year but it wasn't the same.
Houston has a glut of solid WRs they can afford to move one. Slaton is looking good but hes still a rook. However, Rudi seems to be on the decline, they might need to up their offer if they are after more than a #3-4 reciever.
