Of course, and people weren't banging down Keenum's door after he played there either. Yet he has since lead a team deep into the playoffs and showed enough to get a pretty sweet contract, which was sort of where I was going.

It is slim, hopefully first of all because he never sees the field lol. Do a team friendly contract. Any wayward peep or activity, cut him and find someone else.

Disagree. He had one shot in the NFL so far. He was bad, but there were mitigating factors. He still has a MUCH higher potential ceiling than "warm body" Brock. There is no guarantee he ever reaches it or even clearly surpasses Brock, but I'd rather take that chance than give a contract to a guy who has blown multiple shots.

Not joking at all. I liked the way Locker set up and threw, stood in the pocket, his arm motion, release, ect. I was very high on him. Clearly, football ended up being not very important to him and he quit, so he was a bust. But I thought he could have done well. Never cared about his running one way or another.

On the flip side, take away Manziel's running around, force him to be a pocket passer and set and throw in typical situations, and he's nothing. Even with a personality transplant, I saw him as a late round flyer.

I have trouble accepting that Manziel will make it back to the league and kaepernick wont.

One took a knee prostesting civil rights.

The other had a drug problem, and beat up his girlfriend and threatened to kill her

You see, I don't watch college much so I really have no idea how good/bad he was....all I heard was the endless hype. I do believe in giving players second chances though because that's how we landed folks like Wake, Williams, etc. Who was the player working for UPS that walked onto the team? Bess maybe? I can't remember the dude's name. I love those comeback stories though.

My point is that if Manziel potentially has the goods but hasn't shown them yet on the pro level, I'd love to get him with Gase for the pre-season to see what happens. I wouldn't even begin to think of him as "starter potential" even if something happened with RT...I'd basically treat him like a prospect IF the potential is there. That's the part I don't know though....does he have QB1 potential down the road in a perfect system with the perfect coaches developing him?

That's the stuff you don't get from all the league hype and commentary pieces, so I just don't know. But if there's even a slim chance, then give the guy a roster spot for a few months and see if he's willing to fight for the final 52. I don't see a downside there.

At least he apologized for it due to his mental health issues. Kap still hasn't apologized for his BS or identified that he has mental health issues (read girlfriend).

Comparing the two is absurd. One is speaking his mind which is his right the other went off the drug induced deep end.

Respect is a two way street. If people want people like CKap to show them respect then maybe they should lead by example....which is the point.

He doesn't show anyone respect. His wearing of the pig socks disrespecting EVERY cop. As you siad, he disrespects....which is the point. He has the right to do it. But everyone has the right to be a jack arse now don't they? But jack arses aren't getting jobs except for pulling carts. Not too many carts in the NFL.

The only "apology" I'd take is jail time- every abusive piece of garbage says he's sorry when he gets caught beating on a woman. Mental health does not make this an excuse either.

Stays status quo and tanny gets hurt put a fork in us we are done if it’s osweiler

If Tanny gets injured again the season is over, and if we end up with a top five pick you draft a QB in 2019.

Brock is perfectly capable of getting us a high pick, but unless he signed on for under $2 million, Fales could do that for even less money. Or surprise us by developing into a solid #2 QB option. Brock is-what-he-is at this point.

I guess Tannebaum and Gase figured they didn’t waste enough money on a lousy QB when they signed Cutler. So they decided to waste more of Ross’s money on one of the worst QB’s in the league in the past decade.

The only good thing about this signing is if Tannehill isn’t fully healed and Osweiler has to fill in next season, the Dolphins should enjoy the first pick in the 2019 draft.

I thank all of them for defending our right to kneel to the national anthem. I thank god every day that I do not live in a country like North Korea or Egypt or Russia or China where that is a punishable offense. Thank God in heaven that we live in a country where we can disrespect our government, especially one that deserves it from time to time.

How do you justify Kap's support of Fidel Castro ( a notorious oppressor)?

It would be kinda hypocritical to believe in what Kap stands (or kneels) for, then turn around and try and down play the Castro stuff.

Na, Kap should absolutely have a job, but it absolutely shouldn't be in Miami.

"Trying to push the false narrative that I was a supporter of the oppressive things he [Castro] did is just not true," Kaepernick said. "I said I support the investment in education, I never said I support the oppressive things he [Castro] did."

Kaepernick was quoted by the Herald as saying Castro did help create the "highest literacy rate because they invest more in their educational system than they do in their prison system, which we do not do here [United States] even though we're fully capable of doing that."

    Back to the topic.

Osweiler is a backup. He has shown some glimpses of ability and not screw up too badly if he isn’t asked to do too much.
He’s younger than Matt Moore, less fragile and has a higher ceiling, but lower floor.
All in all this screams stop gap backup to me, an insurance policy if a QB the FO likes doesn’t fall to us inthe draft.
It wont stop the phins putting a high pick into a QB if Mayfield, for example is there at 11.

Its a back of the roster move done with a high name recognition face.

Yea, you can’t wear that shirt then expect to be welcome in South Florida.

Rather it was his intention or not to be Offensive....really doesn’t matter.

If Tom Brady wore a David Dukes shirt, then said he was simply supporting what David put in the offering plate every Sunday AM, and not what he is BEST known for??? Then nobody would accept that bull jive.

Can’t double standard our way outta this one. He wore the shirt, he won’t be nor should be a Miami Dolphin.

Hope he gets a job though, but not gonna pretend for the sake of Cuban Americans that shirt is okay because he said it was.

    GL Colin!
