I am begging Stephen Ross to swing for the fences and get a coach that has had success in the NFL. Adam Gase is the Jay Cutler of coaching. Gutless, no passion, and the biggest bull-sh**** in the South. He is not an offensive genius. Peyton Manning carried him.
Jeff Fisher runs the wide-9, so you'd be getting the same scheme. But, I highly doubt Gase will fire Matt Burke.
There is no way, I repeat no way, Burke, Christensen ,Gase, Grier and Tannenbaum all survive. My bet is both Coordinators get fired and Grier takes the fall from FO
Tannebaum and Gase are going to use the injury to Tannehill to explain the entire season to Ross. Based on past experience with his former FO personnel and head coaches, Ross will accept this excuse for the reason the team failed miserably this year. Therefore I expect Tannebaum, Grier, Gase, Burke, and Christensen to all be back in 2018 filling the same positions they filled this year. That is what happens when you have a totally clueless owner. Of course with everyone returning in 2018, I expect another replay of this season next year. As long as Tannebaum is running football operations, the Dolphins have zero chance of having success, IMO.
I hope Marino is whispering in Ross' ear. Not to become any part of the team, but about the bonehead moves made
We have the 31st ranked defense. Only defense worse is Indy's. Vic Fangio's deal is up this year. He and Gase were together with the Bears.
we go 4-12, and you think Ross is going to allow that, despite being a dopey owner? The Tannehill excuse can only go so far. He doesn't play defense
The Giants could get blown up, however, I commend Reese for a good run. His teams seemed solid in the trenches, and I think his downfall was they tried to "overspend" for talent towards the end. We may have to think of hiring a new VP. What are thoughts on him?
Guess it depends on how Harbaugh feels about him. Do they have any relationship or do you think Jim would bring him in?
actually what worries me about Reese is he went from building organically to free agency. They let that Oline really suffer as much as Miami has. Nut back in those two SB years, was he the GM?
I would like a film rat for gm... no status but somebody with a complete record on all choices in personnel
Reese was GM starting with 2007. So, he didn't really build that team as much as he took it over and went with it. That team then went 12-4 the next season, again mostly with the players brought in by Tom Coughlin and Ernie Accorsi. Since that point, the team has been mediocre to slightly above average, generally getting worse as the years have gone on. Reese should not be a candidate for much of anything, IMO. I wouldn't even consider him as a top scout.
I very much doubt that Burke gets fired. This is his first year as a DC, and its very rare that guys don't last at least two seasons unless the HC gets fired also. As Ronin said, we may see a few positional coaches go, but thats as much as I would expect this offseason. I would personally like to see an upgrade from Lou Aramano, as the young DBs seem to have a lot of talent but haven't developed, especially in their ability to create turnovers. They clearly have huge communication issues, and unless they're all dumb as bricks, that falls on coaching.
Unless you’re guaranteed to get Fangio, or maybe Todd Bowles, it’s hard for me to see them firing Burke.
And as far as Fangio goes, you can't even just fire Burke and then immediately hire him. You have to interview others, leaving the possibility of your chosen coach being swept up by someone else. That problem doesn't exist with Bowles though.
I have absolutely no interest in Jim Harbaugh. None. Not at any point. He has screws loose. His brother, I'd love to have if/when the team moves on from Gase in 2019 or beyond.
Can the mods start merging these threads? There are multiple threads about the coach from the same poster, can the clutter be swept into one waste bin?
That's a little extreme. I wouldn't discourage anyone from posting anything. Redundant threads should be merged. Like when there's multiple official game threads or breaking news.
Jim Harbaugh is never leaving UM. You may as well start pining for Gruden while you are at it - pure fantasy. And the fact that you mentioned Jeff Fisher immediately lets me know your ability to judge a coach is flawed beyond repair and that as such your analysis of Gase is irrelevant. The only thing Fisher should be considered for is if Ross wants to move the team lol.
Is there a way to set a daily limit per forum per poster? Like no one poster can start more than 7 threads in the same forum in a 24 hour period?
I would be opposed to that. Some people can come up with a lot of ideas that they want to share. However, people need to police themselves and not start the same topic over and over also.
Keep in mind that what you would do is separate from reality. There's no evidence anyone's leaving: VP, GM, HC, OC, DC, etc. You do understand that, right?
I think the issue with both Gase and Burke's play calling is they call the play based on every player doing the perfect thing, but that just does not happen in real life and they don't know how to coach around that.
I think that's a very reasonable reason as to why this team looks so bad. What are some of the big changes this team had from last season? No Tanny No Albert Different DC Now, what happened this year? Oline coach doing drugs No bye due to hurricane Traveling 1 million miles in 3 weeks Lost starting LB, OL Cutler not playing up to any sort of average level Out of all of those things. and based off of what we see around the NFL, what do you believe was the BIGGEST factor in this losing season? For me it's the loss of Tanny. He's number one and anything else is a distant 2nd.
