Its not about gase. Its about the Dolphins organization. They have constantly made bad deals for years, no matter who is in charge. Gase is just another in a long line of bad decision makers. That's all I'm saying. This was not a good trade
It's not whatever I say. It's fact. A QB is worth more than a RB. How many RB's go 1st overall in the draft? Even AJ McCarron was getting traded yesterday for a 2nd and 3rd.
Not quite. If someone is gonna spit out "facts" I just want them to be able to back them up. Good try at humor though.
That's on the GM. I'm not a fan of Tannenbaum either, but this team has a winning record and people are ****ting on the HC like we have been winless.
we are 4-3 in the easy part of the schedule and have been shutout 3 times, and we would have a losing record if the defense didn't score in one game lol, I think the 3 shutouts is what everyone is up in arms about.
It doesn't matter who its on, it always happens. The Dolphins take it in the shorts every time. The coach has input on trades as well. Just like when they traded vontae Davis. Since Shula retired, this organization has made stupid deals, no matter who is in charge. It like the team is cursed
Or maybe it really really really is because a young, cheap QB who performed well in limited action just really really really does have THAT much more value than an inconsistent RB with ****ty knees. You just cannot compare the Garropolo trade to the Ajayi trade and talk about getting fleeced, it's nonsensical. ****, people are saying the ****ing Pats got pantsed for letting him go for JUST a second.
Or maybe San Francisco was really desperate and Bill Belicheck took advantage of that. Just like how Miami wreaked of desperation and Philadelphia took advantage of them. Who is saying the pats got hosed on their deal? Do those people think the pats should have gotten a 1st for him? If so that's ridiculous. If roles were reversed, the Dolphins would have given away Garopolo for a 4th and given a 2nd for Ajayi. I'm sure if it, cause that's what the Dolphins do
13-5 over the last 18 games. Sucking worse than everyone except the Patsies and one other team (Steelers maybe, I forget). What a bunch of losers, fire them ALL!!!
ask the Golden State warriors how it feels to have the best regular season record and not win a championship. Not winning playoff game last yr was the end of that. we are 4-3 last yrs record means absolutely $h!t today.
Yes, teams without a QB are desperate for a QB. They aren't desperate for inconsistent RBs with ****ty knees. Not ... not sure why this is a difficult concept? The Pats were widely reported to be seeking one of the Brown's first rounders during the draft. And role reversal? What the **** is that nonsense?
You guys are right. Ajayi sucks and it was a great trade. I'm sure you'll think the next guy they get rid of sucked too and so on....
You can make the argument it was not a great trade. I personally would have pushed for at least a conditional pick in the 3rd. Just don't use nonsensical arguments like Garropolo, a QB, getting a better pick. Does nothing but show a lack of understanding of the NFL game or that you are basing the argument more on knee jerk emotions.
No one was going to give the Dolphins more than a 4th round draft pick for a RB. As far as the Patriots getting a 2nd round draft pick for a backup QB is concerned. They could have gotten a far better deal from the Brown before the 2017 draft if they had been willing to trade Grappolo at that time. So it would appear the Patriots got a lot less value for him by waiting until the trade deadline. I will admit the Patriots are certainly a much better run organization than the Dolphins. Yet I believe they will eventually regret trading away Grappolo, because they are going to have trouble finding another QB who will eventually be capable of replacing Brady. On the otherhand, the Dolphins will have no problem finding a RB who can average less than 4 yards a carry, as Ajayi did this season.
I dont think anyone here thinks this was a good trade, but there was a never a snowballs chance in hell that we would get a 2nd for him. Some team would have really had to covet him to get a 3rd most likely.
There is evidence otherwise. Let's give it a few games though. If the running game still sucks just as bad, then yeah sure we can start throwing tantrums then. If things pick up though, then these rants will be seen as foolish. Let the play speak for itself.
lol you listed the 5 qbs that could throw in that era and ignored AP, priest holmes, shaun alexander, tiki, LT, curtis martin, edge, corey dillion, rudi johnson, westbrooke, portis, mcgahee, jamaal lewis, duece mcallister, okay i'm going to stop listing names bc i prob should have just copy and pasted.
in 2004 11 QBs threw for over 3k 33%. in 2016 25 78% QBs threw for over 3k..... but yes, 33% i guess means the league is pass happy.
Seriously, this organization would be better off if all major decisions were made by fan vote instead of having idiot GM after idiot GM.
I went off of my memory. That's why I could only come up with 5. You on the other hand need Google. I can look up the same stats that you can. So the fact that only 11 qbs threw for over 3k means what? It was 13 years ago. Again you're acting like it was the 60s. The NFL is pass first. It has been since the 80s. You listed Adrian Peterson. He definitely was a great running back that year but it was for the university of Oklahoma, as a freshman. Again, you show your lack of football knowledge
Yea, everyone getting fired after every 2 or 3 games. That's exactly what would happen. Fans of other 31 teams would come in droves to tear this place up. Some are already here.
wow you are daft. It means it was a different era. There is a reason people say that if Marino played in this era, he'd have crazy stats. compared to what he had in the 80's 90's..... but you are a poor moron. BTW, Demarco Murray, a MULTIPLE time PRO BOWL RB, who LEAD the league in rushing yards one year, was traded the next for a 4th round pick. Let that sink in. An Actual proven pro bowl RB, with a league rushing title trophy, with good knees, and not a locker room cancer was worth a 4th round pick. Based on that, you should be ecstatic that we got a 4th for ajayi.
While I’m still shocked and disappointed with yesterday’s trade, reflection is a great thing, and as the anger dissipated I began to rationalise why it happened. I still don’t agree with jettisoning your best players, that rarely helps, especially for such poor compensation. However, if the reports are true, and ajayi was causing all those problems for the staff, then I can get on board that culturally at least Gase had to roll the dice. What I can’t take however, is some of the absolute brass neck of some posters claiming ajayi was expendable talent wise. Pure fabrication. The boys a baller and our talent level has taken a hell of a hit. I now hope that one of our backs starts to move the ball consistently and that it was true that ajayi was the problem on the field, but I suspect I will be wrong, and it’s proven that gase spectacularly crapped the bed by scapegoating his star back rather than his inept o line.
We are 4-3 this year. Last time I looked that would be considered a winning record. Last years record has no impact on this year, sure that's right. But it does have an impact on whether or not the coach is clueless and needs to be fired. They are winning significantly more than they are losing, how is that a bad thing? If we somehow finish with a winning record, which was doubtful from the first moment we heard Jay Cutler and Miami Dolphins in the same sentence, after what this team has already been thru Gase should be a candidate for Coach of the Year. We were on our 3rd QB who had to start a game after two days practice with the first team in a place and against a team that has owned us for years and we got spanked. Spanked like a misbehaving toddler. Get over it, on to Oakland. Gase has some issues and some learning to do still, but he's the best Coach we've had since Jimmy.
Oh I agree I don't think he should be fired because there's nothing major or better on the horizon, however if john gruden decides to come back and coach you better bet id fire gase in a second if gruden wanted to come to south beach. As the saying goes your only judge based on your last outing. so gase will be judged on this specially after the cutler travesty. I think that me be his biggest downfall in all of this. that was his replacement and literally is nothing and they paid him. so I don't think he will get fired unless somehow we don't win another game. But your right if cutler gets hurt again and moore can play and other people show up and we get in a groove and make the playoffs you better believe he should get the COY. But with cutler he's hurting his chances haahh
