Broadchurch season 3 was excellent. They've got crime-drama-mystery down pat.

I just caught up with all four episodes of The Orville and I am dumbfounded. I was expecting a "The Office meets Star Trek", that was more parody/comedy than Star Trek. However, IMO, this show is Star Trek with a comedic twist. Other than Norm MacDonald's character, none of the characters are parodies of Star Trek characters. Even the "Data" of the show, who is a character who is basically from a race that looks down on humans is treated with more subtly than I have seen in good dramas. I was expecting most of his lines being how stupid humanoids are and just saying derogatory words for laughs.

I had kind of low expectations going into this show. I was hoping it would be funny, I did not expect it to be so good and so very Star Trek.

I just binged watched all 7 seasons of Game of Thrones. Man, I was really missing out. I'm hooked.

'The Man in the High Castle' on Amazon. I'm late to the party on this one, also. I'm halfway thru season 1. So far, its been really good.

I had lost interest in American Horror story a while back, but this new season has me totally hooked. Barely any filler space used through 5 episodes. It smacks you in the head with a hammer from the get go and doesn't let up. Definitely an R rated season.

Faye is the second one as well.
It's amusing seeing some of these actresses and other celebrities when they were young whom we (the 40's and under crowd) only really know from when they were older. I didn't realize Faye was that much of a dish.

With her, only really know her from older (80s and mostly prior) movies. I can't say that I've seen her in anything from the last 25 years or so.

But certainly yes to the larger point. I've done that a lot lately, where I'll realize that an actor who I know as an older person was in something that I'm familiar with when they were much younger.

Michelle Pfeiffer in Hollywood Knights (great funny movie) is probably my favorite "older actress in her younger GNDILM days movie".

I had a big crush on her around 1990 or so, when I was in Jr high. My tastes in women have changed dramatically since then though, lol. I honestly can't say that I've seen her in anything in years, but I know that she's going to be in Ant Man 2.

signed up for CBS all access just to watch the new Star Trek Discovery. have to say, I'm blown away. IMO, the first network show that can compete with the Netflix shows. better than all the other Star Trek shows combined. While I'm enjoying Orville, STD is the one I look forward to the most now. good acting. Dark scenes make it feel more like the recent ST movies. dark plot as well starting in episode 3.

I love ST TNG. Top 5 show all time. I don't like dark, "gritty" shows and movies very much at all. Is it for someone like me?

I was a big fan of TNG, but it's not like that. It's closer to the recent movies than the tV series. I wouldn't let that keep you from it though. you can sign up for a free 1 week trial and see the first 4 episodes.

Anybody else watch Netflix’s new show Mindhunters, about the onset of the FBI’s Bahavioral Psych Eval team that births its avant garde approach by interviewing serial-killers? Amazing what was once considered radical. Binge worthy series.

Great actors, great casting, good storyline, and good writing = recipe for worthwhile show. In that regard, TNT’s Good Behavior totally surprised me.

Thought it might be a chick series or a redundant generic one but it proved to be much more than that. Protagonist (Michele Dockery) is a thrice Emmy nominated actress for Dowton Abby, and you can definitely tell the difference between her and the common actresses that we usually see in these TNT/USA/etc shows. It’s fascinaing that she’s a Brit acting with American English better than most American actresses do.

You should know if you’re into the show by the halfway point of episode 1, so it’s worth checking out.

It's very good, eagerly awaiting season two.

Not as cliche ish as we thought it might be. Has an edge, is sexy and well acted as you mentioned.

Trying to find out when Spotless is returning, really enjoyed season one but it seems to have been on hold despite it being noted as renewed for at least one more season. If you like Good Behaviour I think you'd also enjoy Spotless.

I was very impressed with the newest episode of The Good Place. Not only was it entertaining throughout, but it barely contained star Kristen Bell whatsoever and still was a total success. They're doing a great job of fleshing out the other characters and letting the viewers get to know them. I really hope that we're able to get a few more seasons. Dating back to the 80s, the oddball comedies of NBC have always been among my favorites, and this is doing a solid job of continuing the tradition.

I continue to be impressed with The Orville. The most recent episode looked at our own society today in a way that Star Trek is known for, but the episode itself actually reminded me a lot of a different show that I used to like, Sliders.

In a similar coincidence to the Good Place episode I wrote about a few days ago, this episode also featured far less of Seth Macfarlane's character than any of the others, and mostly allowed four of the other characters to tell the story. I applaud their effort to flesh them out and give them depth, but they need to keep working on it. The show works well on a lot of surface ways, but I've yet to really feel a connection or an attachment to any of the people.

If you just came from Slasher, then go to Mindhunter first while you're still in that murder mode.

I'm probably in the minority.. But Stranger Things 2 is some of the best TV ever made.

It's what entertainment should be about... Immersion while being funny, scary and at times, sad

Why would you be in the minority? People are obsessed with Stranger Things. Viewers love movies about mischievous adventurous kids who have to overcome obstacles and deal with monsters, aliens, or bad guys (see ET, Peter Pan, Stand By Me, Gooney's, Lost Boys, Super 8). I hate that the season only lasted me 3 nights, lol.

I think that I'm rather the one who's in the minority as someone who doesn't watch any shows on pay channels or services, lol.

Currently debating with my wife whether we'll get Netflix next year when our new house is built and we can get Comcast. She thinks its a waste.

Get rid of that crap and go completely OTA and Netflix.. Between that and YouTube you won’t need anything else at all. Trust me. I signed up for Sling and cancelled it after a month. No need for commercials ever, except on Football Sundays.

Is the streaming quality ok? Several times, I've used my laptop to watch games while traveling to my parents house on their cable internet using my direcTV account, and the quality was just awful. Choppy and slow, and nothing like watching it on my TV at home. So bad that had it been anything other than a Dolphins game, I would have given up very quickly.
